PLEASE AVOID. We booked a visit here through our hotel thinking it was the Elephant Sanctuary. This place is opposite of that. Immediately felt uncomfortable upon arrival, not due to the staff, but purely the environment and life of these elephants. Elephants always chained up when not put to work. Guides using sharp spear arrowheads on sticks to control the elephants. We left immediately. Please do yourself and the elephants a favor, avoid this place and others like it. It’s not worth some silly selfie if the elephants have a terrible life. You can check out the Elephant Conservation nearby where you help take care of the elephants by feeding and bathing them.
