The House Cafe
2024 Aug 25
I recently dined at The House Cafe with my husband, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. We had previously visited in 2020 and enjoyed our time there, but this visit was disappointing.

Food Quality: The food itself was good. The dishes we ordered were well-prepared and tasted fine, but unfortunately, the positives end there.

Service: The service was extremely poor. It took 40 minutes for anyone to even show up to take our order, which is unacceptable for any dining establishment, especially one where we paid 4,500 Turkish Lira for a two-plate dinner. The staff seemed disorganized and inattentive throughout our meal.

Bathroom Facilities: The state of the bathroom was awful. When I raised this issue with the manager, I was ignored. Instead, an older man with gray hair, wearing a black hat, was called to clean the bathroom. After supposedly cleaning it, he returned and shouted at me, throwing a cleaning stick and pointing towards the bathroom, as if to indicate it was clean now. This was incredibly unprofessional and made the experience even more unpleasant.

Overall Experience: Given the poor service, unclean facilities, and the dismissive attitude of the staff, I would not recommend The House Cafe. There are many other places in the area where you can enjoy a good meal with much better service for a similar or lower price.
City's Nisantasi

recently visited this district and was struck by its beauty. The area has a unique charm and is definitely worth exploring. However, when it comes to shopping, most of the stores cater primarily to wholesale buyers.

Unfortunately, the prices were very, very expensive, likely due to the current inflation. If you're looking for affordable shopping, you might want to consider other areas.

Overall, it's a lovely district to walk around, but not the best place for budget-friendly shopping.
Point Hotel Taksim
2024 Aug 25
I recently stayed at Point Hotel Taksim, which is advertised as a 5-star hotel, but my experience was far from what I expected.

Location: The hotel's location is good, centrally situated in Taksim with easy access to key attractions and public transportation.

Service: The service at the hotel was decent, and the staff was generally polite and helpful.

Room Quality: However, the rooms were very, very small. It felt cramped and not suitable for a 5-star hotel experience. For an additional $20, you could stay at the Intercontinental, just two blocks away, which offers much more spacious and comfortable rooms.

Breakfast: The breakfast was quite poor. During my 7-day stay, they did not serve the traditional Turkish börek (cheese pastries) even once, which was disappointing. The variety and quality of the breakfast options were not up to the mark for a hotel claiming to be 5 stars.

Overall Experience: Overall, the hotel felt more like a 3-star establishment rather than the 5 stars it claims to have. I am genuinely puzzled about how it received a 5-star rating.

If you are looking for a true 5-star experience in Taksim, I recommend looking elsewhere.

I visited this mall in August and was struck by its beauty. The area has a unique charm and is definitely worth exploring. However, when it comes to shopping, most of the stores are luxury brands
