La localización y la historia de este castillo y de sus casas cuevas es muy interesantes. Existen visitas guiadas y se puede disfrutar de una maravillosa vista panorámica de la localidad de Puerto Lumbreras y pueblos vecinos , al igual que de las cadenas montañosas que rodean al pueblo.
Resulta contradictorio el gran orgullo y constante promoción por parte del ayuntamiento y la gran dejadez y falta de labores de mantenimiento.
