The Tribal Museum in Bhopal is a true gem that offers an immersive experience into the rich culture and heritage of Madhya Pradesh's tribal communities. With an entry fee of just Rs. 20 per person, it's an affordable way to spend a couple of hours learning about the various tribes of the region. The museum showcases the habitats and homes of these tribes, along with their gods and places of worship, giving visitors a deep insight into their way of life.
While photography inside the museum costs Rs. 100, it's unfortunate that many people don't pay the fee and still take pictures. It's important to respect the rules and contribute to the museum's upkeep by paying for photography if you intend to take pictures.
Make sure to allocate at least two hours to fully appreciate everything this museum has to offer. After your visit, you can enjoy some local dishes at the canteen, such as Mahua Jalebi and dosa made from Kodo and Kutaki. The charges are nominal, and the place is very neat and clean, so do your part in maintaining that cleanliness.
In the same campus, you’ll also find the State Museum, which is worth a visit and requires another two hours. Additionally, about 1 km away is the National Museum of Mankind, but exploring that will require an entire day.
