When you don’t book a table at a restaurant in Paris, you usually end up in a place like this. Went for the 300 g entrecôte, which was served with a few dauphinois potatoes and standard salad with mustard vinaigrette. Not the greatest quality piece of meat but well cooked and came quickly. Washed it down with a bottle of Brouilly, which at€34 a bottle, is approximately 3.5 X markup. This is way above the Paris average markup for wine. A few French people but mostly tourist and the price is what you’d expect a stone throw away from Les Deux Maggots. If you haven’t booked a table, get there before 8 o’clock or after 930 and you can get a table. You could do worse.
