Excellent omakase experience with fresh tasting and high quality fish. Would definitely recommend going for lunch which is reasonably priced for what you get.
Having lived in Japan, there are few places in Vancouver that really hit the same vibe as what it was like to stroll into a casual neighborhood sushi place. Miko is the one that's hit that mark the best and I look forward to every trip there. The ochazuke is a must buy.

Very good quality food! The Oshi/Sushi/Cooked food were all very very good. This place does run on the pricier side so it is not a place we would go to regularly, but definitely would consider it a place for special occasions.

Service and atmosphere are also very good.
My husband and I have been looking for a new sushi place since the one we normally go to has gone downhill. We got takeout; called the place to order since their online ordering system didn't work. The staff generously gave us 25 percent off which is the deal online when we explained that we couldn't order online. The sushi and food quality however was disappointing. I ordered a black dragon sushi roll, and the bbq eel was on the chewier, harder side. So was the imitation crab. The bao bun had way too much mayonnaise and the pork belly was just okay. The sushi rolls in general were not as fresh tasting. We'll have to find another takeout place.

We went here on Saturday lunch and they do offer lunch menu. We had such a pleasant experience in here. Food was great and fish quality was excellent. Lunch menu is perfect for those who want to try many dishes. Atmosphere is modern and the service was friendly. We had seasonal dessert made with strawberries and it was super. However, the green tea opera dessert is better in Miku.
Great omakase! Went for lunch and it was delicious and had good value. Story telling for each item was nice.

I had a wonderful experience at Kingyo today! We were seated immediately as we had a reservation but it looked very busy and others had to wait for a table. The servers were all very friendly. Since we got a slightly cramped table, they gave us a free dessert, which was very much unexpected and appreciated! Food wise - I really enjoyed the salmon tartare which came with deep fried salmon skin as chips to eat along with the tartare. The hot stone beef bowl was delicious! And upon our server’s recommendation, we went with the frozen green tea brûlée, which was the perfect end to our meal.
An unreal experience. The owner/head chef is so knowledgeable about each dish and carefully explains everything before handing it to you. Absolutely incredible experience!!!

Their dine-out 2024 menu was such a great bang for your buck! All the pictures in this review are all included in the set menu.

Everything was delicious, from appetizer to dessert! Will definitely go back for next year’s dine-out event.

We were a great fan of Hapa Izakaya 🏮 in Vancouver and was excited to walk past this place. We had to go in.

We were told the two locations were owned by different owners but we could see some similarities.

First, excellent cocktails. We had a Murasaki Ultra and Tokyo Gentlemen.

Second, delicious small plates. We had shishito peppers, yuzu red wine avocado salad, and truffled kinoko meshi. Shishito peppers were slightly fried and bite sizes. It increased your appetite. So did yuzu red wine avocado salad. At first, I doubted how the ingredients could fit together, but it turned out a great combinations. Truffled kinoko meshi was the champion of food tonight. It was on a sizzling hot stone bowl. The super heat on the bowl will burn the rice and gave it a crispy texture.

Our server did a very good job as well.

We also enjoyed seeing three televisions📺 showing three different animations at the same time.
Friendly and fast service. Delightful sake. My takoyaki was full of delicious soft batter but not very much octopus. Cozy atmosphere. I wish there was a no cellphone talking and then it would be perfect! I will go again because they are Ocean Wise certified and sustainable seafood is most important to me! Great value.
Although a little pricey, the food is great. The staff always comes to your table to ask if you need anything and if you only order a few dishes/less than what they expect for each table, they seem to expect you to order more. Atmosphere is great but same the staff is a bit annoying.
Awesome food. One of best sushi I've been. Highly recommended.
Been coming here very often since we moved to yaletown. Loved their happy hour menu (3-6pm). Sadly recently the happy hour no longer include the food only the beverages which is a shame. But the food is still good.
Update 12/26/22: This time we ate in, the restaurant is fairly large with lots of tables.
The very large menu offers Japanese and Korean items.
Half of us are vegans and the menu is very accommodating in its selections.
Everything was beautifully presented, well cooked and delicious (pics included)
Total bill for 13 items plus a Diet Coke- $158.52

First time take out sushi in environmentally-friendly packaging included: Spicy DF Cauliflower (little bit oily), Crispy Tempura Tofu (very good), California Roll and Tempura Yam Roll was quite good.
Our vegans order often from here and this was a Mother’s Day treat.
I will ask if MSG is used next time though.
