We were a great fan of Hapa Izakaya 🏮 in Vancouver and was excited to walk past this place. We had to go in.

We were told the two locations were owned by different owners but we could see some similarities.

First, excellent cocktails. We had a Murasaki Ultra and Tokyo Gentlemen.

Second, delicious small plates. We had shishito peppers, yuzu red wine avocado salad, and truffled kinoko meshi. Shishito peppers were slightly fried and bite sizes. It increased your appetite. So did yuzu red wine avocado salad. At first, I doubted how the ingredients could fit together, but it turned out a great combinations. Truffled kinoko meshi was the champion of food tonight. It was on a sizzling hot stone bowl. The super heat on the bowl will burn the rice and gave it a crispy texture.

Our server did a very good job as well.

We also enjoyed seeing three televisions📺 showing three different animations at the same time.

We made a reservation ahead of time, and it might have been worth it. We showed up around 6:30 and it was pretty busy inside. We were promptly seated, and read the menu ahead of time. So we ordered and the food showed up very fast, I was surprised. Tasted great. Service was a 4 out of 5, as once the table was cleared of our meals, we sat there for quite a bit before we could get our bill. Atmosphere could have been a 10 out of 5. Great location, and inside was nicely decorated around Christmas and real candles. Back in Vancouver, most restaurants are using the battery powered ones, just not the same. Would definitely recommend to a friend!

Wij hebben 3 dagen achter elkaar hier gegeten (dat zegt op zich al genoeg) en het was zeer!! Goed, we hebben nog nooit zulke lekkere zalm gegeten, bereid met garnalen en risotto heerlijk!! Ook Alle andere gerechten waren heerlijk alleen !!! De steak had iets minder pezig mogen zijn, maar dat was dan ook het enige wat minder was.
Ook het personeel was genieten wat een drive, vlot, vriendelijk en goed op elkaar ingespeeld als een geoliede machine.
De prijs klopt ook met de kwaliteit.
