Definitely go if you're interested in history of catalonia from prehistoric times till present. Descriptions are in English, a lot of interactive points which were enjoyable even by us adults. Highly recommended to any history nut! Despise heavy foot traffic outside, the museum was quite empty inside, no queues for tickets.

Very cool! It wasn't too expensive and it was more extensive than I thought it would be. I like how it has Roman ruins and early Christian ruins as well as Inquisition time ruins. Most of it is under the present day city!

It took us 2 hours 30 to do the museum at our own pace.
If you from Catalunya and interested into his history, I would recommend at least 3 hours.
I recommend to book the ticket in advance (specially for the 1st Sunday of the month when it’s free)

This is one of the most interesting and best laid out Museums I've been to. It covers the political and social history of Spain from Roman times to the Moorish period to modern day.
All signs are in English and large print so that you're not bending forward to read. There are sitting areas throughout, so you can take multiple breaks and also multiple washrooms in various locations.

Muy interesante ver distintos tipos de herramientas para torturar a los herejes, y a la gente en general. Una visita obligatoria si estás por Toledo, no te va a dejar indiferente.

What a great experience if you’re a history fan. Like many medieval basilicas this one was built on top of the original Roman town and temple. You walk back through time from present day through the renaissance, medieval walled city, Visigoths, Roman’s and the original tribes that first populated the area.
As well they have much about the basilica and its history with many stories of hero’s and heals!

Museums aren’t always at the top of my list when traveling, but we were looking for a way to spend an hour on a Sunday. It was free and well worth it! Really interesting to see how the city was first built many, many years ago.

No puedes ir a Madridejos sin visitar tan interesante museo, aprendí muchísimo sobre las costumbres y culturas de este pueblo. El guia José Luis ama lo que hace y se refleja en lo bien nos explicó! 🤩

In 2024 it’s only 7€, which for Barcelona is cheap! Best 7€ spent from my point of view on a museum! Very nice and plenty to see! The roman edifice at the basement is amazing! Loved it

Museo etnográfico u Azafrán de Madridejos, una auténtica maravilla y que enseña la gran labor que hay detrás para la obtención del preciado azafrán de la Mancha el mejor del mundo, muy recomendable visita guiada que también incluye los silos, maravilloso.

Very interesting and educational museum. You can learn a lot about history of Barcelona and not only. The top floor had a very nice to different parts of the city and Gothic area. The ground floor where you could see the ruins of old city Bàrcino was incredible!! The staff was very friendly and entrance fee is only €5.

Incredible, well-curated museum. Everything from neolithic people to COVID is covered. You could know nothing about Barcelona and walk out well-versed. The Roman basement is truly something special.

Given this much history, no surprise it’s huge. Includes excellent English translations. Great location. Take a break at 1881 rooftop resto upstairs overlooking the harbor. Artistically done while still accurate and thorough.

Entre los más de cien monumentos y museos que conserva la ciudad de Toledo, una pequeña exposición nos narra la parte macabra y oscura de la convivencia de las Tres Culturas en nuestra ciudad y las terribles herramientas utilizadas para perseguir y doblegar herejías y todo aquello que se desviaba de las doctrinas impuestas por los poderes civil y religioso, esencialmente éste último, a manos de la temida Inquisición. Os contamos todo sobre el Museo de Antiguos Instrumentos de Tortura de Toledo y qué encontrarás en su interior.

Se trata de una pequeña exposición permanente ubicada en la calle Alfonso XII, número 24. Unas cinco salas que contienen diversos instrumentos de tortura y su historia, con alrededor de cuarenta piezas procedentes de anticuarios y mercados de arte conforman la exposición que ahonda también en los aspectos sociales, políticos y religiosos ligados a la historia del mencionado organismo.

Actualmente le llaman el museo de los mecanismos de tortura, estuvo interesante pero es algo super corto, hay pocos mecanismos que mirar. Muy nutritivo en cuanto al conocimiento pero algo que en 5 o 10min ya ha recorrido.

6€ la entrada y si compras varias exposiciones al mismo momento te sale un poco más económico

El museo está bien, pero es demasiado pequeño y tiene muy pocas cosas para lo que cuesta entrar, en si la experiencia nos pareció costosa. Está bien, las máquinas están buenas y bien explicadas pero para lo que es debería costar menos

Ok, aber für den Preis hatten wir mehr erwartet

Muy recomendable si realmente te quieres dar cuenta de lo que era la inquisición y sus torturas...con explicaciones de cada máquina y tu imaginación para ponerte en el lugar de los condenados

Vorweg, wir hatten keine Führung und haben auch nicht die App benutzt! Insgesamt waren wir etwas enttäuscht. Die Exponate sind wenig aussagekräftig und scheinen nicht wirklich strukturiert ausgestellt zu sein. Vieles ist aus den jüngeren Epochen, die auch aus unserer Sicht nicht so spannend sind. Warum so ein Aufhebens um Tutanchamun gemacht wurde erschlossen sich uns nicht. Soll das Besucher locken? Gastronomie war geschlossen. Toilette übermäßig genutzt und nur eine für Männer und Frauen. Entsprechend schmuddelig. Preis zu hoch für das, was geboten wurde.

Großartig, viel gesehen und viel gelernt. Alles super gepflegt, auch sanitäre Anlage

Piccolo, 3 stanzette con oggetti relativi all'argomento. forse 5euro e50 sono un po' troppi, la visita si esaurisce in 15 minuti ma non posso dire che non mi è piaciuto. Se ci passate entrate

Ein großartiges Museum mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Ein sehr kurzweiliger Besuch der sich echt gelohnt hat.

Klein aber fein! Nicht schlecht für eine Stadt wie Barcelona! Gut geeignet auch für Kinder, die sich für das Thema interessieren.

Spannend, aber viel zu klein

Kleines Museum. Es gibt aber einige interessante Exponate dabei. Altes Ägypten ist immer sehenswert. Auf dem weg zwischen casa Milo und casa Batllo. Für Besitzer von Barcelona Card ist der Eintritt frei.

11€ Eintritt pro Person für ein über 3 winzigkleine Stockwerke verteiltes "Museum". Klar, man sieht einige schöne Stücke, aber man erwartet für den Eintrittspreis entsprechend was. Wir waren in 30 min durch. Hätten wir nicht die Barcelona Card gehabt, hätten wir uns sehr verschaukelt gefühlt. Noch ein großer Minuspunkt, die Toilette im Eingangsbereich ist für Männer und Frauen zur gleichzeitigen Nutzung ausgelegt, ein No-Go für mich.
