We decided to go here last minute as we were walking by. It was very easy to get tickets. I enjoyed watching the ducks in the courtyard mill about. We also went into the cathedral store and got two gold rosary necklaces and a Christmas ornament. Pro tip make sure you have something to cover your arms on a hot day or you will not be let in.
The Zoo Aquarium in Madrid offers a splendid visit, with its vast open-concept layout that allows for an uncluttered, enjoyable exploration, even in the heart of February’s delightful weather. Ample playgrounds and a variety of eateries provide perfect pauses in between encountering the diverse animal exhibits, including the truly awesome dolphin show. This expansive and well-maintained zoo promises a cool, unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages, making it a must-visit destination.
Buy 4 tickets or a pass for the metro. Take from Catalunya Park the L7 line to Avinguda Tibidabo station. Once you leave the station cross the street on the right side and go up the hill to the bus..196. It will take you all the way up to the tram to the base of the temple 12 euro. Definately work the trip. It is beautiful and the views amazing!
I recommend to go to the very top for the views! Also on the opposite side- there is a rooftop bar in Colon hotel - opens at 12.00. Be first in line to get the best spot. You cannot order coffee there, only alcohol.
Found the spoon then told about Dave's ravine good walk but well worth it lots to see on route
Wow, what a sight to see in person. A hidden gem in Barcelona, off the beaten path. An adventure to arrive to the location but once you walk through the gates and see the stunning cathedral, you are left speechless. You can take an elevator ride (with a paid ticket) to the top of the cathedral towers and you get breathtaking views of Barcelona. On a clear day, you can see all the way to France. This is a must see if you plan on visiting Barcelona.
Barcelona Cathedral is a breathtaking architectural masterpiece with Gothic and neo-Gothic styles that create a stunning view. It is a must-visit spot in Barcelona, and the rooftop offers a panoramic view of the city, creating an unforgettable experience. The stained glass inside the cathedral is awe-inspiring and highly recommended for visitors. It's one of the most important churches in Barcelona, and you shouldn't miss it.

Amazing!! Do not go to Playa Blanca without finding this jem. Hands down, highlight of the holiday
Gorgeous basilica, and definitely worth the visit. They have recently started charging entrance fees (10euros with tower/roof access), which is not stated online. Unfortunately there's no control at the tower so people without roof tickets were just going up too, and hadn't been told the up/down system so were trying to come down the wrong stairs which caused problems.
You have to visit this church when you're in Barcelona! Not only is it absolutely stunning inside, but the columns are a work of art. The stain glass windows alone are also worth spending the €5 or €10 euros to enter and visit the crypt.

The surrounding area is also amazing to see with little streets full of perfect bars to eat and drink. There is an amazing jewellers on the corner opposite the church entrance, where you can find incredible and one of a kind pieces for a very reasonable price!
Toller Tierpark für Kinder. Besonders toll sind die frei laufenden Pfauen.

Tageszeit: Donnerstag Mittag
Sehenswert: ja
Überfüllt: ja

Bewertung: Schöner Platz.
It’s a really nice church to see. We paid for entrance to upper terraces and the church itself 10 euros, but in think it was worth it! It’s rather cool inside and the church has many beautiful stained glass pictures. If I am not mistaken, only 4 are authentic, the rest were restored. Please, note that it takes some time to go up, about 150 steps, the staircase is narrow, too. You can stop in 2 places on the top to take pictures. You go up on one side and go down on the other side. All in all we had pretty pleasant impressions from the visit.
Line moves much faster than you think. Very picturesque and fun to row around the beautiful Retiro park.
Very quiet, no Pandas but it is March and the sun was shinning and Rosie has a brilliant time. The park is super clean. Not expensive, u see 3’s go free. We were there for 6 hours and saw Lions, Giraffes, Gorillas, Dolphins, hippos, Rhinos, Bears, Wolves, Monkeys, Flamingos, and a lot more. Arosie loved the play parks and slides.

Only heard about this after joining a FB group of Playa Blanca, yet we'd been there over thirty times! Of course, it was then a mission to find it. We didn't cheat (well, except for narrowing it down on Google Maps) and we found it after twenty minutes. Now, we see it easily on each time we pass. It isn't this absolutely incredible feature of the town, but what it is, is a bit of fun, a 'must do' mission on a walk along the most beautiful coastal path. Who knew? Everyone wants a bit of harmless fun and relaxation on holiday - add it to your list of 'things to do' when you're next there. And, don't cheat!
When I passed this cathedral for the third time, I saw people collecting tickets. I checked and bought tickets and was glad I did because this cathedral is beautiful.

Finally, saw what a crypt looked like. How the confessionals and choir areas were.

It's quite a walk up the tower to the roof. The views from the roof were also lovely overlooking the Montjuic on one side and Sagrada on the other.

Of course, you cannot see the intricate detailing in the sculptures and carvings in the pictures so you have to see it with your own eyes. The grandeur and the beauty is worth it.
The Barcelona Cathedral is my favorite spot in the city. Its beauty and remarkable architecture create a captivating experience, especially within the stunning interior.

Don't miss the rooftop – my personal favorite – offering an amazing city view. Seeing Barcelona from this elevated perspective is a must for a truly enchanting visit!
It's an amazing place, the rooftop visit is a highlight, offering awe-inspiring panoramic views that provide a unique vantage point to appreciate the city's charm. Inside, the cathedral's ancient architecture showcases impeccable craftsmanship, creating a space that exudes a profound sense of holiness. A visit here is a journey through time and an opportunity to experience the spiritual ambiance that defines this remarkable place.
We han an amazing visit
The balcony is a must see, the views of barcelona are one of the best I've seen.
There is a digital audio guide to download and learn the history of the cathedral.
You can donate to light a candle and speak to make a confession if you wish.
The artwork, upkeep, and infrastructure of the cathedral were incredible.
The old woodwork and painted ceilings, as well as stained glass, was one of my favourites.
The walk up the tower to the balcony has been reserved and kept the same throughout the years so you can immerse yourself in the history as you visit.
We purchased tickets in line for 14€/person (tourist entrance), it was worth every penny.
There was no line and with this ticket we could visit all the small chapels inside and small museum with the historic armour and weaponry
Feels like home! Great place to sit, chill, and meet new people.
I walked through this huge park and saw the various monuments and pieces of art in including the huge lake. Very majestic and a must visit place in Madrid. I wales from the Novotel Madrid Centre through the park to the other side where the great Prado Museum is located. The ticket line there was almost half a mile long and I was too tired to do that.
Gorgeous basilica! The place was lovely. We got the full tickets, which included rooftop and crypt. Rooftop was lovely, crypt was…nothing but a weird space. Still, highly recommend stopping in.
It is not free as it's stated so be prepared for paying to enter it. Maybe there are times when they don't charge for entering it but not during week days.
Nice old church. Very quiet and peaceful. I didn't climb on the rooftop so I can't comment on the views from there.
Sorprendida.
Visita recomendable 100%. Repetiremos muy pronto.
Amazing park to visit full of chessnut trees and a big lake you can rent a boat and enjoy paddeling. The autom looks breath taking here
Eine sehr berühmte Platz, unbedingt besuchen. 👍
Beautiful cathedral where you will pay €15 for entrance to see museum, cathedral and rooftop. They had some technical issues to see the rooftop, but everything else was wonderful. You also scan barcode and you get an audio guide. Very nice and peaceful. Pretty garden outside with the famous white geese chilling in the middle of the garden. The cathedral is easy to find with Google maps, and it’s pretty central too.
Amazing part of El Retiro park in the heart of Madrid, view is beautiful, you can rent a boat and enjoy paddling across the pond. street music performances tend to be stand there around the pond to play their music. I enjoyed a walk around the pond and to me it was the best part of the park.
As I walked the promenade looking for the spoon in concrete, eyes fixed down on the ground a couple were smiling at me frantically looking and said have you seen the spoon, I said no and he lifted his foot off it, it was amazing I took photos and we carried on with our day but every time we went back past the spoon we went and looked again and said hi.
This is sick a cool site in Retiro park. The building itself looks like something from a Disney movie. Every angle is cool and takes an amazing point of view in the sunlight. There’s usually some street performers around the entrance and a small duck/turtle point in the side area as well.
Staw z fontanna, znajduje sie tuz przy Szklanym Pałacu posrodku duzego parku miejskiego.
Our visit to the Basílica de Santa Maria del Mar during the day, which required an entrance fee, was a mesmerizing journey into Gothic architecture. This masterpiece boasts a nice interior adorned with elaborate arches and stained glass windows, creating a symphony of colors that bathes the sanctuary in beauty. Exploring the cathedral is an enriching experience, and we found two ticket options available: one for access to the cathedral only and another that allowed us to ascend to the rooftop. Opting for the latter not only granted us access to the entire site but also rewarded us with stunning views from the top. A must-visit in Barcelona for both architectural enthusiasts and those seeking panoramic perspectives.
An absolutely immaculate Catholic Church located in Barcelona’s El Born area. This gothic basilica is stunning with the amazing architecture. The stories these walls could tell!! I paid €5 to tour interior. On Sunday night, I was able to go in for free. A true masterpiece worth visiting!!
Great fun. Was quite excited by it. Great vistas both ways to enjoy.
Once you found 'little spooney' of course!! 🥰😊
The Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Barcelona offers breathtaking panoramic views of the entire city, making it a prime spot for capturing stunning pictures. The 5 euro escalator ride to the viewpoint beneath Jesus provides an incredible vantage point to admire Barcelona's beauty. Overall, it's a must-visit for its mesmerizing views and perfect photo opportunities. There's also the possibility of getting there on your monthly ticket without any additional cost.
Absolute must see or visit church when visiting Barcelona. It's a bit outside the citycenter, but easy to reach with taxi, public transport or with the funicular. Elevator to the top is worth it's money seen as you get amazing views over the city from the roof and or tower.
I went for the crystal first and ended up walking here. Place is open and very interesting. I sat by the stairs for about two hrs watching people have a lot of fun. I had my brunch with me so I enjoyed it with this great view. The place is safe and public. If you want to take a boat ride you better visit on weekdays or early in the weekends. There is a bit of a cue for the entry to rent the boats. Otherwise the park is free and open.
Very old church on a hill, but is very nice.
Costs 3 € to go to top but if you have the chance you should because you can relax and see the view, go preferably on a clear day so you can have a clear view of Barcelona.
Szklany pałac przepiękny i staw z fontanna dodająca mu uroku.
Beautiful church. If you go during the day, there is a small fee. In the evening between 6 and 8:30 pm ish, it’s free but our itinerary was booked. Once inside, there is a door that goes up to the rooftop. It’s free and is worth checking out. Spectacular views of the city.
From the moment I set foot on the sacred grounds of the Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Barcelona, I was engulfed in an atmosphere of profound peace and spiritual grandeur. The architecture of the temple is a mesmerizing blend of modernist and gothic styles, a visual feast that elevates the soul. Each detail, from the intricate mosaics to the soaring towers, seems to tell a story of faith and devotion.

The panoramic views of Barcelona from the temple are breathtaking, offering a unique perspective of the city that blends earthly beauty with spiritual contemplation. Inside, the ambiance is equally stunning, with an aura of tranquility that invites reflection and prayer. The art and symbolism adorning the walls and ceilings are not just aesthetically pleasing but also deeply meaningful, providing insights into the sacred mysteries.

The staff and guides at the temple were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, enhancing the experience with their insights and stories about the temple's history and significance. The serene gardens surrounding the temple offer a perfect place for quiet meditation or a peaceful walk.

Visiting the Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was an uplifting and enriching experience. It's not just a tourist destination; it's a journey into the heart of spiritual Barcelona. I left with a sense of awe and a deeper appreciation for the city's rich religious heritage. This temple is a must-visit for anyone seeking a moment of peace and spiritual connection in Barcelona.
I have always been fascinated by spoons. They are such versatile utensils, perfect for stirring, scooping, and slurping. So when I heard about the legendary spoon in concrete in Playa Blanca, I knew I had to see it for myself. I booked a flight to Lanzarote, packed my bags, and set off on a quest to find the holy grail of cutlery.

It was not easy. I spent hours walking along the promenade, scanning every tile for a glimpse of the elusive spoon. I asked locals for directions, but they either laughed at me or gave me vague answers. I was about to give up, when I saw it. There it was, half-buried in a slab of pebbled concrete, shining in the sun like a beacon of hope. I felt a surge of emotion, a mix of joy, awe, and relief. I had found it. I had found the spoon in concrete.

I knelt down and touched it gently, feeling its smooth metal surface. It was warm, as if it had absorbed the heat of the island. I wondered how it got there, who put it there, and why. Was it a prank, a mistake, or a message? I didn’t know, and I didn’t care. All I knew was that it was beautiful, and it was mine. I took out my phone and snapped a selfie with the spoon, smiling like a fool. I felt a connection with the spoon, a bond that transcended time and space. I felt like I had found my purpose in life.

I stayed with the spoon for a while, talking to it, listening to it, and learning from it. It taught me many things, such as the importance of being humble, resilient, and adaptable. It also taught me some jokes, such as “What do you call a spoon that can’t stir? A spork.” and “Why did the spoon cross the road? To get to the fork.” The spoon had a great sense of humor, and I laughed along with it.

I left the spoon with a heavy heart, but also with a sense of gratitude. I thanked the spoon for everything it had done for me, and promised to visit it again soon. I walked away, feeling a new sense of direction and fulfillment. I had seen the spoon in concrete, and it had changed my life.

If you are looking for a unique and unforgettable experience in Lanzarote, I highly recommend you to visit the spoon in concrete. It is more than just a spoon, it is a symbol of hope, inspiration, and mystery. It is the best thing that ever happened to me, and it might be the best thing that ever happens to you. Trust me, you won’t regret it. The spoon in concrete is the ultimate attraction in Lanzarote, and possibly the world. Don’t miss it.
This was an amazing excursion! It was only a 15 dollar ride from the city and only took about 20 minutes. The church and the view of Barcelona is absolutely the best. There is a small park there with some rides. Its very easy to get a cab up or back from the city too.
Lovely bars and restaurants including one of the oldest bars in Madrid Taberna Ángel Sierra.
This absolute gem was the only reason I booked a 10 day trip to Lanzarote. It has been on my bucket list since I popped out into this crazy world.

It's truly a magical experience hunting it. I think deep down, I actually found myself in the process.

It's a MUST do. I've heard rumors that the 7 wonders of the world will soon be changed to 8. Surely this has to be top of the list?!
We could have spent all day here, and so can you. The park is huge, with spidering walking paths, and the pond area has bars and restaurant aplenty to stop and rest awhile. There are also paddle boats available if you want to scoot around on the water, and a general nice vibe to the place. Enjoy!
Very beautiful church, a must see! You are see for free the main church and lower area. You can see the overlook of the city which is amazing.
Bathrooms available outside of the church.

Parking was a bit issue. You can’t access anywhere near the church by car as it was blocked. We parked at the amusement car park but that only opens at 10 am on weekends. When we were leaving there was a very long line to get in.
This park is huge! So much to do and lots of spots to relax. We enjoyed our boat ride. 4 stars because this place needs more water closets and the morning staff we’re not helpful at all. Although the pm staff were very courteous, helpful and nice.
I wasn't expecting to go spoon hunting on holiday, however, when "The spoon in concrete" showed up on Google maps the challenge to find it was instantly accepted! It was actually reasonably hard to spot, but just as we were about to give up, we found it!

If you want to spend 5-10mins with the kids (or big kids like me) then it's a fab little activity to do whilst walking along the sea front.
Leuk plein. Goeie Italiaan tegenover het monument. Groene oase in de binnenstad.
Great place for the first coffee and breakfast.
Charming and calm square near everything you wish to see and everywhere you want to be in Madrid.

Great district of madrid! Gay friendly and amazing atmosphere! Nice bars and restaurants and also cool shops around this area!
I put 4 stars instead of 5 because I expected from the gay area of Madrid more people, more energy but maybe it was so calm because it was January. Althought i had great moment drinking my beer at the plaza and visiting some gay shops 😉

09/22 Wieder einmal hier... Achtung Baustelle!! siehe Fotos
Ontzettend gezellig pleintje met authentieke sfeer. Bevind zich in een hippe buurt. Leuke restaurants met kleine terrasjes.
