Trafalgar Square is one of London's most famous public spaces, renowned for its iconic landmarks, cultural significance, and vibrant atmosphere. Here's an overview of Trafalgar Square:

1. **Location**: Situated in the heart of central London, Trafalgar Square is located in the City of Westminster, near the West End and Covent Garden districts. It is bounded by several major streets, including Whitehall, The Mall, and Charing Cross Road.

2. **History**: Trafalgar Square was originally laid out in the early 19th century and named in commemoration of the British naval victory at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The square has since become a focal point for public gatherings, celebrations, and demonstrations.

3. **Nelson's Column**: The centerpiece of Trafalgar Square is Nelson's Column, a monument erected in honor of Admiral Horatio Nelson, who died at the Battle of Trafalgar. The column stands 52 meters (169 feet) tall and is topped by a statue of Nelson.

4. **Fountains and Statues**: Trafalgar Square is adorned with several fountains and statues, including the iconic bronze lions at the base of Nelson's Column. The square also features statues of other historical figures, such as King George IV and General Sir Charles James Napier.

5. **Cultural Events**: Trafalgar Square is a popular venue for cultural events, concerts, and celebrations throughout the year. It hosts annual events such as the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, the St. Patrick's Day parade, and the Diwali festival of lights.

6. **National Gallery**: Located on the northern side of Trafalgar Square is the National Gallery, one of the world's premier art museums. The gallery houses an extensive collection of European paintings from the 13th to the 19th centuries, including works by renowned artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, and Claude Monet.

7. **Public Gatherings**: Trafalgar Square has a long history as a site for public gatherings and demonstrations. It has been the venue for political rallies, protests, and celebrations, including the annual New Year's Eve festivities and Victory in Europe Day celebrations.

Trafalgar Square remains a vibrant and bustling hub of activity in London, attracting visitors from around the world with its historic monuments, cultural attractions, and lively atmosphere. It is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the city's rich heritage and contemporary culture.
Visiting Buckingham Palace was an absolute delight! From the stunning architecture to the opulent interiors, every detail exudes grandeur and history. The State Rooms are simply breathtaking, showcasing the epitome of royal elegance.

This was probably my forth time seeing it but still a great site! Although I’ve been inside, this time was just walking by. Love to see it from down the park with Victoria’s statue in front.
Had a lovely day at the castle.
It was very interesting and easy to follow the audio guide which was clear and easy to hear.
It is on ancient volcano so it is very steep in places.
We went on a Sunday the 1pm gun shot is not fired on a Sunday so if you want to witness the gun being fired don't go on a Sunday
One of London's great tourist hotspots
Great for holiday portrait photography and a general meeting spot Different exhibits keep it fresh throughout the year,Some places to sit down around the edges to rest after a bit of shopping
Buckingham Palace was an average visit. The exterior of the palace is impressive, but the limited access to the interior left much to be desired. The crowds were overwhelming, making it difficult to get a good view or take pictures. The gardens were well-maintained but not particularly captivating. As for the Changing of the Guards ceremony, it was underwhelming and didn't seem worth the wait. Overall, it's a must-see for its historical significance, but don't expect it to be the highlight of your trip.
We definitely enjoyed our visit to Edinburgh castle. Our guide was personable, informative and kind. The castle is so full of history and beauty that I feel it’s impossible to capture it all in one visit. Highly recommend visiting it. The views you get if the city are breathtaking.
We came to visit the palace during our trip to London. It is an absolutely stunning place. We loved the royalty style and magnificent gardens. We recommend checking the schedule of the changing of the guards and coming early enough to secure your spot as close to the front yard. The best spot to watch the ceremony is all the way in the front and as close to the main gate as possible. This way you can see the ceremony taking place inside and capture it the best. This spot is also best as you can see the guards as they come in and leave from up-close.
London is beautiful!! Highly recommended!!
Buckingham Palace offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in British history and royal pomp. The Changing of the Guard is a must-see, and touring the State Rooms (if you can) is an unforgettable experience. Just be prepared for crowds and plan ahead for ticketing, especially during peak season.
Great venue for walking, talking, forest bathing.
Basic parking price gets you entry to the grounds.
You pay extra for the house, the formal gardens and the farm.
There is currently a series of Sean the Sheep sculptures for children and the young at heart to explore and find. However, many of these are in the formal gardens which you have to pay to enter unless you are a National Trust Member.
There are plenty of facilities.
Well worth a day out.
Standing close to Buckingham Palace and snapping photos is truly amazing. The architectural beauty is captivating, making it a must-visit destination. Its grandeur and historical significance make it an iconic landmark worth experiencing firsthand. A visit to Buckingham Palace is a memorable and enriching experience for any traveler.

Great castle, although a bit busy and a huge line when you want to see the crown jewels. There are many military exhibitions and the castle has many cool aspects you can visit. Buying tickets in advance online is recommended as you get a discount and can reserve a date + time. The views from the castle are amazing as it is on top of a hill. However, that could also be the downside as there are some slopes to conquer and many stairs to deal with.

Amazing piece of history, with a great view.
I would recommend spending at least 2 hours inside, exploring and reading up all about the castle's history.
Buying tickets online beforehand is also a great opportunity to skip lines and gain time.
Went without audioguides which I regret so I would recommend renting some.
Beautiful castle where I easily could have spent more time. History reveals itself with each step you take. Great view of the city and the surrounding areas. Plenty of photo opportunities. I do recommend booking entrance time in advance, cause it selles out fast.
The Castle is amazing. The history, the buildings, and the views are all so cool. I chose to get the printed guide (so I could better stay present with the experience) and stop and read and look and read and to read after I left. It worked for me.
For complete disclosure: lots of stairs, climbing, cobblestones, etc so you should wear sturdy shoes and be prepared that you might not get to everything.
The line to view the crown jewels was long, but it moved quickly (and, of course, I was able to read my guide while waiting).
Don't just take pictures of the Castle from the street--go explore it.
Trafalgar Square, immortalized in countless films, is a cinematic oasis waiting to be explored. With its iconic water fountains, inviting sitting areas, and picturesque buildings, it offers the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable evening in London. Whether you’re people-watching from the steps of the National Gallery or admiring the beauty of Nelson’s Column, there’s something magical about this historic square.
Standing atop the hill in Greenwich Park, you’re at the prime meridian, where east meets west. The iconic Meridian Line runs through the courtyard, marking the starting point for global time. As you step into this celestial realm, you’re treading where time begins! 🌠🔭
The surrounding park offers lush greenery, serene pathways, and a sense of tranquility. Take a leisurely stroll and soak in the beauty.

We visited this attraction today just to look at the outside. A must see when visiting London.

There was no changing of the guard today.

It's a very popular attraction so it's very very busy.
But you still get a good view.

Working here on a multi million pound renovation, I'm sure it will be stunning once it's fully completed, heritage castle.
Booked the early before opening tour of the castle and after seeing the crowds once it opens I would highly recommend. The peace and serenity of being inside the castle walls and roaming around to learn about the change over time was a once in a lifetime experience. We went in middle of April and weather was pretty cold and windy so plan to wear something you will feel comfortable being outside in for a few hours.
Such a great atmosphere in this square so many things going on.
Water fountains, statues, street acts , the vibrancy is great to sit back and take it all in.

We visited twice once at twilight and once during the day. Both gave us different fantastic experiences.
Massive park for walkers & cyclists with large lakes.Gardens cost £9 adult entry but again big & worth a visit with a nice Japanese garden . Usual national trust cafe on site with indoor & outside seating ,but service a little slow hence massive queues.
Small Farm area with animals onsite too ! Only downside is £8 parking on entry, so plan a full day there to get value for money !
"Visiting the Greenwich Meridian was amazing! Standing on the Prime Meridian Line, straddling two hemispheres, and learning about navigation history at the Royal Observatory was a unique and memorable experience. Highly recommend for geography and history enthusiasts!"
Nice place located in a neat park, on a hilltop with a spectacular view over the city. Of course, the prime meridian is the main attraction and a must-see for London visitors. The observatory itself is lavishly restored and conserved.

However, the entrance fee is bold, bordering on insolent. Almost £ 70 for a four-headed family (two minors) is a lot, especially considering the exposition and features on location. Not really value for money; rating reduced to some rather weak four stars.
Update; report health & saftey issues to them, you get told they are looking into it from reviews & email and they still don't respond, just say there looking into it. AVOID.

Went today to see Shaun the sheep that was there. Little did we know it was an extra charge as they were in the gardens. We had breakfast there, this wasn't great as we brought 2 breakfast, one small and one full main one , the chef went and took all the breakfast stuff away AS the other member of staff was plating up our food, so the large one was then smaller than the small breakfast and no money back offered, just extra bacon (2 piece given) when I was missing mushroom, hashrown & tomato to what I could see.

The Shaun sheep was good after paying the extra to see it, nice to walk around the gardens and spot them all when we knew they were in there. This was the reason behind this visit.

Once we did this, we went into the gift shop next to the main restaurant. As we were in the shop, we were looking at the cards on display in the back corner of the shop, as we where there we didn't notice there was a white door there until it was to late, a member of staff opened this door at force into my mother and hit here on the back of the head with some force!, now this staff member did apologise a few times about it, but this simply shouldn't of happened, why wasn't the door has a notice saying in use or why have a shop display behind the door to where customers will stand to look at items in that corner of the shop.

To also add the gents toilets had no toilet rolls in at around 2.30pm today either. Luckily, we live only about half an hour away, so we could wait.

I personally will not return to Tatton. It's over priced, everything is a charge, and today, I found too many issues to one, which is a health & safety issue.
Nice for a day out! No ticket is required.
a gorgeous square surrounded by iconic London landmarks it was chilly outside. I love seeing all of the flags.
Really cool experience. This is where the Meridian Line starts. I didn’t know this when getting in so I was shocked to learn this when I was in the museum. You can stand your feet across the line and take pictures. It also have a good view of the London skyline. Overall very fun and educational experience for me. Highly recommend.
Un petit panneau explique les circonstance de la découverte de cette poterne.
Intéressant mais cela ne vous prendra que 10 mn à regarder.
There are nice grounds to walk and so on but from the gate it just feels like a money grab. After paying for parking, entry to the farm, entry to the gardens, entry to the house and lunch your wallet will have taken a beating. It was busy when we went but the restaurant was under staffed and very slow to serve. Food was ok, not great, but nothing to get excited about.

The castle was STUNNING! The views of the surrounding area are worth the walk up. I highly recommend taking the guided tour through the castle guides; it costs a few more pounds but is worth it. I also HIGHLY recommend booking long in advance especially if you're coming in the summer - while we were there in the "off" season, our guide said the summer is insane. In addition, DON'T walk up the stairs to get to the castle, just walk up the Royal Mile. Plan to spend most of the day there as there is SO much to see at the castle. Get ready to enjoy some spectacular history!
London's Trafalgar Square, home to famous sites including the Nelson Column and the National Gallery, is a center of movement and culture. Its open area brings people together and attracts street performers, making the environment lively. However, at busy hours, the crowds might be oppressive. All things considered, it's a must-see location that successfully blends history with modern beauty.
A gorgeous square surrounded by iconic London landmarks. The square was an oasis of green even though it was chilly outside. I love seeing all of the flags. No ticket is required, just walk around the square as you are taking in the London sites. All I can say is it is lovely!
Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the iconic Tower Bridge. The experience was nothing short of breathtaking, as I admired the the stunning views of the palace and the wonderful guards . The history and architecture of the palace left me in awe, and the walk along the green park was an exhilarating experience. If you're in London, a visit to this palace is an absolute must. The combination of engineering marvel, history, and panoramic views make it a truly unforgettable attraction.
Lovely family day out!

The play park is huge with a good range of activities for kids. Good choice of walks (some pushchair and wheelchair friendly) while others more off-road. Plenty to do.

The courtyard hosts shops and a cafe though this was busy when we visited. Lots of outdoor seating and toilets about.

There’s activities available if you wish to pay extra (farm, train ride, carousel and rides, gardens, hall etc.) but we kept things cheap and brought a picnic with us. We even spotted planes as the airport is nearby. Parking is just under £10.

I will say, the paths around the park are busy as they are used by walkers, cyclists and cars so be mindful of this as we needed to swerve out of the way a lot.

We had a lovely day and will definitely return.
Great place to visit for the day with family. Lots of interesting things to see, including a working farm, mansion, and beautiful botanical gardens. Would thoroughly recommend!
Tolkien vibes here! Photographed this, had to edit it a bit. Waterworks folks, fix that window or risk the grasp of Mordor!
This has been on my bucket list for a while, and I really enjoyed it.
Interesting museum, Prime Meridian, 1pm the dropping of the ball and epic views of London.
Only disappointment was the planetarium was closed to the public for school trips.
Bathroom facilities.
Cafe.
Pay and display parking available just outside (max 4hrs)

Sehr schönes Tor das der Eingang zum Tower ist im Sommer gibt es schon etwas Wartezeit
Sehr interessant und bei vor der Besichtigung des Towers zu sehen
Nice afternoon spent at the Royal Observatory.
The clock exhibition was very interesting.
Some amazing views of London, managed to spot a hazy St Paul's Cathedral.
Quite a steep walk up to the Observatory, but plenty of benches to rest at if required.
A perfect day out for the whole family. There is a large playground for kids, farm, deer park and the mansion as well as a cafe and gift shop. The kids are always ready for bed after visiting. When going into the mansion there is a store room opposite the entrance to store prams. The pigs at the farm are the best part of it.
Nice place to visit, but don't be sad if you don't get to go inside the observatory as it's not that much of a wow moment place, in my opinion. I feel that I have seen different clocks and dials in other free museums. However, nothing beats the feeling knowing you are standing at the very 0° meridian and the place where great minds were put to work.
Sorroundings and the gardens when the flowers are bloomed are beautiful, as well as the view over Greenwich University and The City.
What a cool place!
It’s hard to imagine the how hard it must’ve been long ago to figure out time and place, something we just take for granted today.
This place goes a long way to explaining how it all came about. The museum itself is very well done, with some incredible artifacts that are still in place. The park itself is beautiful, and has incredible views of the London skyline, particularly on a day that we went, which was a rare clear day. Highly recommended!
Picturesque National Trust property with lots to see and do. An abundance of open air green spaces, dog walks and views of the deer. There's lakes , a cafe and a gift shop. Not to mention a farm and the actual house which you can visit. So there's plenty for everyone. If you like aeroplanes, they fly quite low overhead too as Manchester Airport is in the distance. A lovely place with events in abundance too!
The Royal Observatory was a wonderful experience. I've always been interested in having the correct time. Even as a child I would ring the local correct time number often, this is now a hands on experience at the observatory.

I enjoyed seeing the timeline of time pieces as well as the naval clocks that were a product of finding more accurate time pieces for navigation.

I found out some interesting bits about the actual meridian as well. I highly recommend a visit to anyone interested in time and a chance to stand at 0° Longitude.

I also visited Cutty Shark as part of package deal.
One of the most famous squares in London. Here, you can see the National Gallery , Nelson column, and many things. During nights, many activities may you see there. One of the nice places you need to visit
Very interesting and engaging piece of history

It is what it is. The walk around peninsula is nice and I expected that the meridian marking point would be grander and more noticeable. You could easily walk by without noticing it at all.
Beautiful view of Canary Wharf and lovely walk towards O2 area
Best place to go for exploring time in difference way.
Everywhere you turn there is history and fascinating stories about the ancient Scottish stronghold that even pre-dates Roman times in the U.K. Easily spend a whole day here and stake out your spot early for the traditional, daily, very punctual 1 PM gun (cannon) salute. Lots of steps and steep inclines, so wear your good walking shoes. Admission is about $25 US and there are cafes and gift shops on site. Bring a jacket or sweater, umbrella too, it is Scotland after all, and you are up on the highest ground of all Edinburgh. Make sure to see the Scotland Crown Jewels while there and the Great Hall and all of the cannons too. Well worth the visit. The place is amazing.

Great historical place with lot of attractions. City view from the top is awesome.
One must buy tickets in advance to avoid unnecessary waiting time. It is available online. They have good arrangements for disabled guests including car pick-up from the entrance to the top of the castle. They have a seperate lift disabled guests for going to see crown jewel.

Lohnt.

Excellent tower stands within Severn Trent Depot, I believe this is a chimney once taking smoke from the fires that helped drive the steam pumps long ago.
