As someone who has been craving good shawarma, the place ended up disappointing but if you’ve not had shawarma before, this is a good place to try out an alternative to Middle Eastern food. I’m indian and know when pickles are great taste enhancers and when it is a gimmick 😳

I was pleasantly surprised with the use of Indian pickles to tahini, hummus and offering shawarma without the grill or char . But in the end the surprise died down after the 1st two bites and I just missed on the flavour that comes with a good shawarma.

The falafel was too dense and over fried. Too pricey for what is served and would recommend alternatives that are wholesome mid east restaurants.

The beer I had wasnt too bad.
We visited brix and bones for our anniversary meal and were not disappointed. The staff were all welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the atmosphere plenty of chatter and good music but could still have our own conversation. There was lots to choose from on the menu but eventually settled on the pichana steak and the pork chop as our two main dishes neither disappointed really enjoy the flavour of the dry age steak, but hands down the pork chop was amazing and the best piece of pork I've ever had, couldn't recommend it enough and would go back again just for that. I very much look forward to going back again in the future.

Delicious food, shared a range of starters and mains, the menu is short and everything sounded good! Friendly staff. Cocktails are okay.

Good atmosphere. Asked for two different cocktails, weren’t available. No oysters, lots of steak sold (7.30 on a Friday). Wine average £50 per bottle, expensive. Steak was good and cooked as requested, side good, pier Norfolk potatoes tasty enough. Service good, but will not be returning, just too expensive. £250 for 4 of us, that was without any wine just cocktails and beer. So many lovely places to eat on par with B & B.
The guy that served us (not the one with tattoos) was rude. They charged us the service fee x6 because we were 6 persons and asked to pay seperately. I don’t know if that’s how they do it in uk but they had to let us know beforehand.I understood because I asked them for a full receipt and they only gave me the one I paid for (they did not show us receipt when we asked to pay). The icing on the cake was that the fried egg was raw. I will never go there again also they do not take cash. Don’t go.

Nice area, packed walk in restaurant. Food is ok. Hummus was very good, Babaganoush definitely far too much smoke taste, I would not order this one again. Shawarma was oily but very tasty. The Lamb kebab was a bit a surprise, only meat with some fresh herbs ? At that price? Overall food was really ok but not reason for me to come back as nothing special. Very nice and friendly service. Small and packed location.

Great restaurant with amazing atmosphere and ambiance. Food is taken to the next level with incredible flavors. Make sure to try the chicken, tzatziki and hummus.
Really tasty food served by an exceptional waitress. The restaurant is quite small and has a nice atmosphere. The tables for two are quite high with high chairs - not uncomfortable but a booth seat would of been a better option. Seeing the cooking going on in the restaurant is really good - seeing all the finishing touches being put on the dishes. Not the quickest food to come out but worth the wait, as was really tasty and well cooked. Interesting menu and well worth a visit.
Insane good! Wife and I swung by this evening and had a brilliant time. Completely absorbing atmosphere, convivial hospitality and amazing food!! We chose a seat each at the bar/pass and we got a window into the theatre of food, fire and cocktails here. We got some fantastic insights into the passion for UK produce from George and gang. Every plate was banging and the whole steak choice from the boards, detailing provenance then Watching your cut being crossed off was pretty cool too. Get yourselves down there. Real hidden gem 👊💥
What a fabulous little gem in the middle of a gorgeous market setting.

The food is superb, super tasty and, as fresh as can be. The staff are superb, Katorina who is the manager is a ray of sunshine and so attentive, she is truly a star.

If you’re in the area, swing past and try it for yourself.

This is exactly the type of neighborhood gem that I would keep going back to, even though this was my first visit and certainly won't be the last!

- Food: bursting of flavors, plenty small plates, vegetarian options on offer; have 2-3 outstanding stables that I would return again and again for :)
- Service: warm and welcoming without over bearing; easy for walk-in on weekday night especially for solo diner
- Vibe: it is all about the vibe, unpretentious, rustic, contextually appropriate background music, effortlessly chill
- Wine/Drinks: full bar with low/no alcohol options. Short and well curated wine list
- Price: very reasonable for the quality and the neighborhood. That makes a return trip easy, ha.

So what did I get and which I will come back for (dined solo):
- Shawarma Cauliflower, dressed in tehina, pomegranate, zhug. Must have!! I have plenty roasted cauliflower in my life now at various middle eastern / mediterranean restaurants including some with Michelin star fame. However, the one at Shawarma Bar has to be one of the top 3 for what I can remember!!

- Iraqi hummus, aubergine, hard-boiled egg & s’chug. I opted for this one rather my usual benchmark dish - baba ganoush. It was oh-so creamy, nutty with hint of spice; the decorating zhug and pickles helped lighten up the dish and add contrasting textures. It was rich and came with a pillowy, warm pita that I didn't touch at all :) Barely finished 1/3. Probably better for share.

One pet pee: I love aubergine but the one slice accompanied the hummus was oddly out of the place - a bit dried / bland, didn't add to the flavor or the texture.

- Braised mushroom, sweet potato and spiced tomato sauce. Prob my least favorite tonight, a tad too sweet, starchy than my liking. Or maybe just didn't go well with the other plates I got, both of which were quite earth and scrumptious.

Also a note, the starter here are not exactly tapa size. For one, I ordered 2 starters and 1 size; finished half and boxed the rest home :) Lunch is solved.

Will be back and try more soon!
Yummy food and very nice staff.

We didn’t have a reservation but easily got a table at a bar. The menu has great veggie selection. Reasonably priced & good portions.

Good atmosphere. Would come again.
Long-time patron of Maray, normally visiting the Albert Dock restaurant but walking past the Bold Street one ans seeing tables we chanced our arm.

As expected we weren't disappointed, if you want flavoursome tapas then Maray is the place to go. The disco cauliflower is sublime (from someone who hates cauliflower!) and very filling. The crispy fried chicken and aioli is probably the best fried chicken I've had anywhere. Sweet potato chips, falafel and lamb shawarma were all very tasty ans good portion and we also had the quipped goats cheese and pitta which was a nice side plate!

We always go for 6 sides between too because there's too many nice things to eat and occasionally end up having to leave a bit because we're both full. But with flavours this good I want the variety!

Make a booking if you really want to be sure you'll get a table. One place not to be missed if you're visiting Liverpool!

Arrived in Edinburgh for the weekend and this was our first stop! Bit of a shaky start with our booking, but then Josie (I think) stepped in and all was well. Her customer service skills were fab and we were soon settled into one of the domes. They are lovely! Cosy, warm, very well decorated and with a lovely view all around of Edinburgh. The food was delicious! A very tasty cheese & charcuterie platter and a lovely afternoon tea with the most amazing doughnuts & cinnamon buns which we very quickly demolished. Hot chocolates all around and as it got dark the domes sparkle with fairy lights and the city lights up….a fab experience which I would throughly recommend ⭐️

Happened to stumble across this trendy restaurant/bar whilst finishing up shopping on Prince's Street. With current COVID-19 restrictions we were lucky to get a table without booking.

The staff were excellent - very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Our waiter offered his opinions on good drinks options which we appreciated!

The food, provided by Pizza Geeks, was also excellent - the dough was delicious and fluffy and didn't leave you feeling bloated and sluggish. We also tried the Mac & Cheese bites - it was like a party in my mouth and rich, creamy cheese was the guest of honour. Not disappointed in the slightest.

I would happily visit here again ☺️
