Absolutely shocking. 10am visit to hand in my postal vote sealed envelope but the receptionist.....when she got back to reception...pushed an a4 form in front of herself saying "if I have to take that envelope in I will need to fill.in this big long form, its easier for you to pop it into the postbox at royal mail over the road" I asked her if that would make it too late to count but was told no she was sure it would still get counted!!!!!! Then as I turn around to go, an older man was asking the same and guess what.....she lifted the a4 form and started the explantation about SHE would have to fill the form in. I offered to take his envelope to the post box with mine....vital piece of info the lazy receptionist didnt pick up on......I'm disabled and walk with an aid......she was so engrossed in not filling out forms she never even clicked it. Council customer training needed somewhere don't you think.

I got hit with a £65 fine for accidentally driving in a control zone in Stamford Hill. The area has so many confusing rules that it's easy to make a mistake. If I had stopped to read all the signs, I might have caused an accident.

It's shocking how the council is just trying to make money off people. They say it's about clean air, but I don't buy it. The attached photo shows their lies clear as day. Getting fined £65 for just 10 seconds feels really unfair. And trying to talk to someone at the council? Forget it, they're no help.

Bottom line: Watch out for unfair fines in Stamford Hill. We need to stand up against this kind of treatment. I now understand all activities and vandalism to remove those cameras! SHAME ON YOU!!!
I recently encountered a deeply frustrating and unjust situation with Haringey Council, which compelled me to share my experience here. Despite being residents of North England with no prior involvement with this council, my husband received a fine for a parking violation in an area we've never visited.

The issue escalated when we discovered that the vehicle involved had its registration stolen, and despite promptly reporting this to the authorities, including the police, we were met with dismissive responses from Haringey council. The council officer claimed "not enough evidence," demonstrating a concerning lack of accountability and diligence in investigating the matter.

Adding insult to injury, our attempts to communicate with the council were met with further disappointment. We didn't receive the initial fine letter but were surprised to receive a warning letter directly. Despite my husband's prompt reply via post with first-class signed service, the council's response arrived an inexplicable four months later.

This entire ordeal has left us feeling unfairly penalized and deeply disillusioned with the integrity of Haringey Council's operations. It seems that revenue collection takes precedence over principles of fairness and accountability.

In conclusion, I urge Haringey Council to conduct a thorough review of this case and rectify this miscarriage of justice. Additionally, clearer communication channels and a commitment to accountability are desperately needed to restore trust in the council's operations.

Haringey council should be ASHAMED of the service they provide to people. Even giving one star is generous. I had a look through the reviews and one consistent thing is the POOR customer service! When you call the waiting times are ridiculous, I've been trying to get through to Haringey council on the phone since last week Thursday and they have me on hold right up until their lines have closed. I cannot call during the day as I have one 20 min tea break and half an hour for lunch. By the time I wait 30 mins in the queue to get through my break is practically done. When I call around 3:40 after leaving work their line doesn't even ring, it goes straight to 'sorry we are unable to take your call right now'. The line will be blocked like this right up until gone 4pm. Then when you eventually get into the queue and wait over an hour to get through, thoes in the BACK OFFICE have already packed up their bags and left so the repair team have their hands tied. It's such a shame that thoes in the back office are not the ones hearing the frustration of the tenants when they are waiting months on end for repairs to be done, maybe they will actually take these situations that residents are left in more seriously. I would like to commend thoes in the repair team that are at the forefront of dealing with calls from disappointed tenants ( on the rare occasion that we can get through) they often pass on repair enquires to the back office for them to get in contact with residents but the back office never do!

Haringey council have happily left my husband and I unable to use our bedroom, we have been sleeping on a guest bed in the living room since November, going to work daily in pain and discomfort. It's clear Haringey council couldn't care less as long as they get their money. Then they have the nerve to boast on their call waiting message about how much money they are injecting to redevelop Haringey. How can one redevelop and area whilst ignoring properties that have been poorly built and leaving tenants to rot whilst water drips above their bed!

Never had a positive experience dealing with St Helens Council, most abilistic Council ever. Equality and diversity act came in 2010 time warp dealing with them they think it's 1924

Waited 2 months for Haringey to send a repair team to fix a hole in our roof, no one turned up on the day, now can't get through to the repair team to ask why/book a new appointment. Have had water leaking into our house accompanied by a freezing cold draft for 2 months. It's Haringey Councils legal responsibility to fix this as they own our freehold. If not fixed in the next week I will be taking it to our local MP.

Horrible. No help. Call multiple times no one picks up and the staff are not helpful. I had to go to this council on multiple occasions sadly because of a mistake they made and now I’m having to go there everyday for a week now. I wouldn’t even wish my enemy to be forced to go to this council 😂 They are not helpful at all they don’t even reply to emails.
Zero stars if I could for chasing me up on £1000 of unpaid council tax which simply is not mine (because I NEVER lived in the UK between 2020 and 2021). I reported this back months ago, and now they send debt collectors after me. This kind of negligent behaviour can and has caused suicides (see robodebt in Australia). Who is going to be held accountable? Probably no one. The people who make these kind of decisions and provide the lack of oversight over this should be sacked. They should give themselves a good hard look

Flood 12th dec reported and raised as emergency 15th dec 2023. Just fixed today 7th feb 2024. Now damaged two properties both vulnerable pensioners. Councilors knew in dec as did town hall. Subcontracted out last night repaired within 24hrs not by the council but a third party. At least today the fairways team were polite and professional. The repairs manager needs holding to account over this farcical time to get a leak fixed ! It’s going to cost many thousands to fix the damage from the almost two months of inaction.
I wish I could 0 star’s honestly. The member of staff who received me (Lenny) was so rude and sounded like he didn’t even want to help. I have an issue with my phone you can’t hear me as loud as possible but you can hear me well enough to understand. He didn’t even allow me to continue to ask for the help as to why I called. He was blunt and just shut me down and said to ring from another phone but he could hear me well enough when I asked if he could just listen to enquiry now?? Just rude for no reason when someone is desperately in need of help.
If I could zero I would! Haringey are a absolute disgrace they do not care about their tenants not even the disabled ones I have needed new windows urgently for many years and had to deal with mould for at least 10years they have fobbed me off many times over the years they have left me with a cold damp room to sleep in I couldn't even have carpet down thanks to the mould and even though they have finally sorted that thanks to the local mp and solicitors I still have very bad windows and all I'm being told is they are in the new budget! They don't treat anyone with respect or care and very poor communicationwith tenants. People in this borough are truly suffering at the hands of Haringey
Absolutely atrocious customer service every single time without fail. The only consistent you get with Haringey. They are not there to help in anyway, alway absolutely always directed and transferred to the wrong department, always given incorrect information and it will differ from person to person. 99.9% of the staff have no clue of there role and the attitude of the person at the other end is promised to make you feel about as worthless and helpless as can possibly be.
Tried ringing on Friday afternoon to the Social Care and all I got was an automated message stating 'All our offices are now closed'. Someone has tried ringing me from the Social Care but I was out. On ringing the number it stated that it was not accepting incoming calls and stated that if they need me they will call back and then the line hung up. Very difficult to get through to a person.

The worst council. Have an "out of hours emergency repairs" telephone line which never gets answered so they leave residents helpless in an emergency. The repairs engineers are so incompetent they leave vulnerable families with no heating in freezing temperatures. Such a poor service and further declining after disturbing resignation from its mayor
One star is fair for the recycle bins collection. It seems that they have no influence on crew of collection truck.
The crew is too lazy to empty bins left next to front doors. Have reported that issue several times but nothing has changed.
Hackney Council clearly hate cycling. Despite a green strategy this is the only borough in London that made us remove our cycle storage from our front garden. The same storage has had approval all of London. We even made 5 different attempts to meet their undefined issues with the storage (colors, size, shape, height) and still they just simply refused. No feedback, no accountability. And then, they let the exact same storage be built and approved two roads over in the same front garden spot??? Unsurprisingly our bikes were stolen within weeks of removing our storage. And we're on a 5 year waitlist for a bike hangar spot. We moved here to get rid of our car and live a more environmentally friendly life but that's proved impossible. Wrong borough. Avoid.

I'm writing to you all to have information if you sell an application for a Private her taxi badge don't go to Liverpool city council these rubbish in Knowsley say you have to wait 2 months for the Badge because they had a lot of applications but they take the same money as Liverpool city ​​council, you will always say they make 100 applications a day, that they are very busy, they make 1 application a day, I don't prefer it to anyone

After having an extremely tough two years where I've lost family members, almost lost my husband to covid 19 and almost dying myself, losing our jobs and having to survive on very little income, i made contact with the council to keep them updated on my situation. Karen Bentley has always been extremely understanding and reassuring but Karen is off at present so I was put through to Joanne Ravenscroft!
Family members witnessed and were appalled by her manor. She talked over me, was unhelpful, accusary, rude and unkind! I understand staff at the council deal with unpleasant people, I've never been one of them! I haven't slept and have been left feeling traumatised by this member of staff. When phones are working I will be taking this further!
