Amazing experience. Thanks to all the awesome volunteers doing their jobs so well. Very lively and spirit raising experience.
I really enjoyed the visit and it was well worth the walk up to it from the seafront. The views were amazing and compared to how busy it was on a bank holiday Monday along the beach it was a great escape.
The location has toilets, a little tea hut and ice cream van along with the standard English heritage shop.
There is also a little museum on site but we didn't get a chance to pop in but well worth a stroll around the ground just for the amazing views of Scarborough and the headland from the viewpoints.
Would definitely return.
Definitely worth the walk up the hill. You can see both bays at once from here. The audio tour is really good. Fascinating place. It’s very exposed & it’s always been windy when we’ve been so probably best to take a coat!
Nice castle and views. Mostly ruins but offers some great views. Paid parking is available at church parking ground. The parking ticket machine was difficult to operate with the card payment option not working. Eventually, it worked after trying for around 15 mins. There was free guide tour available at the site.
Took the "tunnel tour" on a canal boat. It was a great experience with a friendly and knowledgeable host. All of the volunteers in the museum are friendly and welcoming. It's a hidden gem of London.
Free museum with some great scientific instruments from history. The craftsmanship is great. Lyra His Dark Materials display also interested me, as fan of Pullman's work, some costumes from BBC series, could not get close but nice to see. Also more modern stuff on typhoid and history of radio, and photography, think we spend an hour.

No loos or cafe, but in centre of Oxford there are plenty of families near by.
Very cool place for a visit, but get ready for a walk.

It is pretty much uphill to get to the entrance.

Once up there, it is so worth it, but really windy.
The display itself is nice, full of excellent pieces of historic items. Of course the blackboard used by Einstein is the most interesting part of the museum.
However I don't agree on the fact that if a group is visiting they have to pay an entry fee (albeit small) while for individuals it's free.
Would have given 5 stars otherwise.
Brilliant long boat trip yesterday to Little Venice. Perfect way to suit both active kids and grandparents with mobility issues.
The staff were really helpful and the guide was interesting.
The kids loved doing the locks and having a go a steering and granny enjoyed being chauffeured along the canal in style. Couldn't have been better.
We will be back in the summer to go the other direction.
Lovely day out with friends.
The exhibits are centred around an atrium and its all so informative and well thought out and presented.
To start there's a wonderful cafe`with good coffee and loads of snacks. There's no wait for baguettes, bagels and pastries as there's a team beavering away replenishing the stock as fast as its sold.
I would recommend starting here because you will need some energy walking round. The food was very good.
There are stairs and lifts to the whole exhibition! We managed all of it over the four hours we were here, starting at the bottom with World War One.
What was really lovely was the young Children , so eager to learn and full of enthusiasm at the wonderful displays.
This is an amazing day out. There's lots to see and for all ages.
Before you leave, there is a great souvenir shop .
Fun interactive museum about London canals.
We took a boat trip with afternoon tea that we totally recommend. The boat trip lasted 90 min and took us along the canal and crossing the Islington tunnel.

Jane was a lovely guide, providing us with lots of anecdotes and history about the canal. Martin was a fantastic skipper who made the trip smooth and entertaining. The scones from Sun Bakery (a family owned local bakery) were delicious!
Fascinating place full of historical mechanical devices for measuring time... and they even have a blackboard used by Albert Einstein with his original writing on it!
Nice place to visit , not a great deal of castle to see but we had a really lovely walk around the outer walls . You can take your dog and ours also enjoyed the walk. There is an information display which was very informative and the staff were really friendly. The view from the viewing platform was beautiful, overlooking over both beaches .
Sehr beeindruckend. Man braucht reichlich Zeit um die vielen Eindrücke aufzunehmen und zu verarbeiten. Neben dem historischen Räumlichkeiten gibt es auch eine spezielle Ausstellung für Winston Churchill.
A really interesting insight into the coffin making business as well as a snapshot into life as a worker from the 1800s to when the factory closed in the 1990s. Fascinating place which is well worth visiting
We had an absolutely fantastic day at the museum and on a narrow boat with the delightful and knowledgeable volunteers from the London Canal Museum.
Would highly recommend to anyone!
Had an incredible time at Scarborough castle, entry was 7 pounds each and there was no limit on how long you can stay, you can also get an audio guide but we chose to find out own way around. There's a small exhibition on the viking and Roman settlements in Scarborough and lots more information around the site and the gift shop has lots to offer and some very good wine too. We also had a lovely encounter with a pheasant
Interesting place to visit and spend some time educating and entertaining ourselves with an audio guide, walking and enjoining stunning views on both South and North Bays and Scarborough city. Dogs allowed on a lead, ours enjoyed it and we were pleased, too, as there are not that many accessible areas like this. We were also watching an egg hunt for kids organised by the castle staff. There is a little museum, too. Some refreshments. I would allow an hour+ per visit
Beautiful place, parking is just infront of main entrance.
Wonderful museum, although one floor was closed when I visited. Worth popping in to explore.
Good staff and a neat, medium sized museum. £7 entry was very fair. There’s a barge you can explore and a lot of displays on the history of British canals. There’s also a great audio available about someone who used to work in the building when it was an ice storehouse. Very unexpected and informative. You can go outside to view the quay full of barges and wideboats. There’s also a small gift shop full of books about canals. One or two looked decent. I spent about 90 minutes here.

What a wonderful afternoon we had, Painting colouring making love hearts. A few of us from Ormeside Grange social group had great fun and will definitely be back. 😁😁😁
Really interesting historic building. Especially loved rhe medieval wall paintings
I definitely need to show my respect to Joyce and Chirs. To be a respected woman, Joyce saved the building and memories to build this museum. And Chirs, our fantastic guide today, made the experience of museum visiting come to an unexpected memory. Even though I know nothing about the British and Birmingham history, he helped me travel back—so much thanks.
What a brilliant place. If you're interested in modern history and warfare this is a must see. There is a huge amount to see, aircraft, tanks, missiles and more and a number of other exhibitions including the Holocaust and spies. There is also a shop and a nice café. Within easy walking distance from Waterloo Station
Really educational and the staff were very knowledgeable. Not far from tram stop. Only downside was lift was broken so I would call before had or check website as there are steep stairs.
Attended the candlelit tour last night, led by the wonderful Billy Connolly. It was absolutely fascinating, and gave us a real insight into the history of the ‘City of 1000 Trades’ as well as into the cultural history around the rites and rituals of death and dying. Highly recommended!
I came here with some friends, visiting for the first time in years. The museum is very well laid out with excellent information accompanying the displays, which vary from tanks and airplanes, to letters and medals, all, of course, connected to various wars and conflicts where Britain was involved. There is too much to see in just one day, so we limited ourselves this time to the rooms dedicated to the two world wars.
They have a nice café on the premises, although the prices where a bit higher than the usual chains of coffee shops in London, but as the entrance to the museum is free, one should not complain.
Had a fabulous day with lots to learn and see.
A lovely small museum, just 10 minutes walk from King's Cross Station. Sit in the back cabin of a narrow boat, and see how the table and bed stow away! Listen to a Bolinder Engine and see an ice house. Will be back later, when the boat trips start.

The home of Charles Stuart during the last battle of the English civil war. It started life as an infirmary until the dissolution by Henry, well worth a visit the history of the house is unbelievable it's reputed to be haunted, events all year check website. Lovely independent cafe by the canal free to enter, charges to go in the museum/ garden, gift shop on site. Part of the Worcester February living history festival.

Great place to visit, we visited on a Living History weekend, the events and shows for those are better on a Saturdays than Sundays.
£20ish for 2 adults and 2 children , well worth it.
Cafe is absolutely marvellous. Great coffee and hot toasties, delicious tempting cakes.
Very nice museum, you could easy spend all day just looking at the first tow floors (lots yo read and listen too). Went with my two kids (5 and 11 yo) and they loved it.
Admissions is free but you need to buy tickets in advance.
Hadn't been since I was a child, gone are the items with a label on them... Well obviously the items and labels are still there, but in-between are dedicated areas to things like WW1 explaining how it started, what was happening though out. Fantastic one of the best museums I've been to and we go to a few.
A very robust collection! The World War I exhibit is excellent, interactive, and beautifully done. Very engaging. Very surprised that the WWII exhibits were not more in depth, it was really just assorted vehicles and large artifacts but no story or connected presentation.
Lovely place, been a couple of times and would love to visit again. I love it when living history places aren't commercialised, its getting more and more rare. May Day was an especially lovely time to visit, very festive and traditional. I love the spirit of this place!
A New Year's Day walk. Sunny, breezy and a little moist underfoot. Breathtaking views up and down the coast and a pod of dolphins playing in the sea. What more could you want? Oh, the castle is lovely too.

Amazing building, so much of our history happend in Worcester. Wandering room to room is like stepping into a time machine. Great fun in the dressing up room . Not to be missed.
I always wanted to visit this museum. Eventually found it after walking through Coal Drop Yard and across York Way. It is alongside the Canal.
I found it amazing! What a terrific lifestyle to be a bargee. It's quite a small museum but represents a bygone age of Britain and London.
Thanks to the Heritage week I joined a 30min tour at the Coffin Works. The staff was warm and welcoming. The tour guide took us through the history of the building and showed us machines. Great heritage of Birmingham although I am not sure I would recommend it to someone not into the topic/Birmingham history
Toller Park. Hier laufen die Hirsche frei herum. Klasse mit den Hunden zu laufen. Alles total entspannt. Geöffnet 8-22 Uhr. 5 Pfund Parkgebühr. Sehr zu empfehlen 👍
Kein Bunker im eigentlichen Sinn . Eher ein verstärkter großer Keller. Interessant auf jeden Fall,ob man dafür 50 € (1Erwachsener,1 Kind ) ausgeben will, muss jeder selbst wissen.
What a gem we really enjoyed our visit and interacted with the residents very well. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. You meet and speak to the residents and they all have very interesting stories to tell. There is free parking near the entrance. Please check their website for opening times as this varies.
