It is a beautiful Chapel, the amazing carvings around the outside of the church are incredible. Unfortunately, major works are being repaired at the Castle, so l wasn't able to see it properly.
Rosslyn Chapel is a gorgeous and ornate historical Gothic Chapel (which took 40 years to build) worth visiting (as an optional excursion of your tour). This is a 40 minutes coach bus ride from Edinburgh. The artistic carving details and talented handiwork of the Master stonemasons as well as craftsmen who performed restoration work behind the chapel is amazing. There is a 15 minutes introductory talk about this Chapel, which you sit at the pews for. We were blessed with beautiful sunny weather, in a beautiful setting. There is a small coffee shop offering light bites like soup, sandwiches and scones, with an outdoor seating. The listening standing pods with video are informative, to learn about The Green Men and The King's heart, and there are interactive displays at the visitor centre.

This is a unique and special chapel of great significance located within the Tower grounds. It is an uplifting experience to visit this chapel which contains some important tombs and was the site of many great occasions.
Gorgeous piece of Scottish history. Recommend staying for one of the history talks but visiting the chapel at your own pace prior.
This secluded chapel is a must-see. If you're touring Scotland, you'll see many medieval chapels and churches. This is not majestic like the ones you see with soaring spires. This was privately built by William Sinclair, 2st Earl of Caithness. The hand carved stone is beyond words. It was also featured in the movie The DaVinci Code.
We stopped off on our way to somewhere else just because we saw the signs and realised we were so close. Unfortunately, we hadn't left ourselves enough time to go in and look around as we were booked in somewhere else, which was a real shame. It's a beautiful looking building from what you can see from the outside, and we can hopefully get to see the inside of it on our next break in Scotland next year.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. Staff very helpful, and guides inside the chapel very knowledgeable. Lots of things for kids to get involved in as well. Nice gift shop and cafe as well.
We class it as our family church, we were married there, our daughter was married there & the wife's parents are buried there.

Full of fascinating carvings, and very helpful guides. The visitor centre is well curated, and cosy on a snowy day. The timed entry seems less crucial in low season, the talk lasted 20 minutes and was very interesting, but optional.
Out of this chapel, Saint Giles Cathedral, and Glasgow Cathedral This was by far the best one. The architecture is breathtaking and you could spend hours looking at all the amazing beautiful details. We appreciated the guide who gave us a 30 minute talk about the history of the chapel. This was in our top three favorite things we saw during our two week trip to Scotland.

Wonderful peaceful chapel. Lady gray and Anne Boleyn were buried here. It's amazing to see all the plagues dedicated to many people including army Sargent's, their is a candle vigil you can light a candle for a lost loved one aswell.
Прекрасная архитектура. Очень доброжелательные люди работают там. Хоть и не знали русского языка, но смогли объяснить некоторые вещи. Когда заходишь в часовню, рядом есть столик на котором есть листы с информацией об часовни. Про историю, архитектуру и тп. На 6 или 7 языках. (Польский, английский, немецкий, китайский, французский и ещё русский) остальные не помню. место очень красивое. Жалко не знаю английского языка, смог бы тогда послушать экскурсию.
Esta pequeña capilla situada en la esquina sureste de la iglesia de St. Giles, corresponde la Orden del Cardo (Order of the Thistle) posiblemente fundada por el rey James III (1488-1513) para recompensar con este título a cuantos hombres y mujeres apoyasen al rey en sus objetivos políticos y religiosos.
Hoy en día la potestad de nombrar miembros de la orden, corresponde al monarca .
La capilla es de un estilo gótico un tanto particular con diversas figuras de ángeles en el techo y por supuesto con uno de ello tocando la gaita.
Para mi gusto un poco sobrecargada pero merecedora de una visita.
