Good place. Amazing view of sunset. Many people come for walking, running, come to make there dog walk. Lot of people doing biking also. Some pond inside there where people sit to spend time. And during monsoon I guess waterfall is also happening their.

Nice quiet place. It's so refreshing and views from top are amazing, especially during sunset. Whether you love nature, clicking pictures, or just want some peace and quiet, this place is perfect.

I climbed 1000 steps which is testing our fitness state and the temple with hill view is amazing

One of the best archaeological wonders is the Kanheri Caves situated inside Sanjay Gandhi National Park. The parking atop the hill is more of a citizens initiative. There are no parking attendants or fees- which would probably change in future.
This is a great place in case u want a short brisk walk upto the water body or quarry atop the hill. The approach road is crying out for some intervention. The residents are quite careless about parking their vehicle on the public road and creating jams

Place is worth visiting during early morning and in the evening.

It is located on the western side of Pune Municipal Corporation within the city limits. Vetal Tekdi is prominent and is visible from pashan, Panchavati, chatturshrungi hill and other parts of the city. It has two spurs, near MIT and chatturshrungi hill.

There is one access road leading up the hill from the south. This can be used to access the Automotive Research Association of India campus located on the hill. There are public parking lot also located along this road.

The forest type in this area is dry-deciduous as that of hills around Pune. Medium-sized trees along with shrubs constitute majority of the vegetation. Diversity of herbaceous species is at its peak in monsoon months.

Not properly maintained but it's good to have a parking near ARAI trail.
There are public parking lot also located along this road.

The sunset view point is truely a proper view point. You can sit on the rocks and stare at the end of the horizon as the sunsets on behind the city skyline and watch the city light slowly turn on one by one. The roads and the houses look much better when the sun has went. There are quite a few foot trails going off the cobbled path which are recommended if you are confident enough to not hurt yourself

Achtung an alle ausländischen Turisten!

Der Eintritt unten kostet für Ausländer etwas unter 100 Rupien.

Am Anfang werden sie von heimtückischen Leuten angesprochen, die Ihnen eine Rundfahrt für 1500 Rupien anbieten. Etwas weiter kann man Fahrräder mieten, die sind aber auch teuer und kosten um die 300-400 Rupien.

Wenn Sie Zeit haben, empfehle ich Ihnen hochzulaufen. Unterwegs sehen sie Affen und sehr schöne Hirsche. Der Weg ist von Bäumen beschattet und darum ist er ganz kühl. Es sind nur 150 höhenmeter bis zum beginn der Kanheri Caves.
Wenn man nicht hoch laufen möchte kann man auch den grossen Bus nehmen der Kostet nur 10 Rupien pro person und pro Weg.

Oben muss man nochmal Eintritt bezahlen. Das kostet für Ausländer 300 Rupien.

Auch da werden Sie wieder angesprochen von einem Guide, der sie für einen Preis von 2500 Rupien begleiten möchte. Ich empfehle Ihnen abzulehnen auf dem weg gibt es überall Schilder mit Beschriftungen die man lesen kann.

Achtung auch vor dem Security Personal. Die werden sie begleiten und ihnen alle Dinge erklären und am Schluss wollen sie dan Geld, obwohl sie nicht für einen Guide nachgefragt haben. Jedoch muss man sagen, fürs begleiten und erklären verlangen sie nur 100 Rupien. Für die Zeit die sie aufwenden ist das ganz okay finde ich.
Ich persönlich habe einen einzugen Security bezahlt und konnte so davon profitieren.

Es gibt über 100 sehenswerte Höhlen zu sehen. Alles in allem lohnt sich die Reise zu den Kanheri Caves auf jeden Fall.

Lassen Sie sich nicht abzocken und viel Spass beim geniessen der Höhlen!

The best time to visit arai for a hike is 3pm-6pm so you can carry your pets with you and also food with just keep ethe place clean you can sit around water pond or walk little but more till the end to watch city light and sunset it's peaceful Enjoy the trip ad avoid hiking at night it gets darker and police is also patroling This is all free with parking included

If you're taking foot steps to the temple and hill, stop here and take a good view from this point. You'll see one of the good views of the city from here.

There are tanks allover, carry cans or buckets and you can use the water to water plants

They will charge 100 rupees per night stay per one bike and 30 rupees entrance ticket in day time .. for car and others they will charge extra...

It's a beautiful space. You need to climb down a bit from chapora port, once you climb down you can see mountain line and lots of trees. From there you can see W hotel too. You can cargo ships also the boats sailing in the sea. It was a good experience.
