It was first time to visit Nagoya with two children. They are 10 and 13 years old and enjoyed the place so much. We couldn’t get out of there even though we (I and my husband) became very tired.
We booked the tickets like special exhibition and planetarium a day before. When we got to the science museum, there was a long queue to buy tickets.
Highly recommend this place for whom with children!

館藏非常豐富，從最早的Benz專利車、1910年代車輛加速進化、大眾化，二戰前後到現代化車款的整個發展歷史，用了非常多樣且豐富的車款進行呈現，並且有很多革新或是具備歷史意義的車款，逛一整天都不為過；超珍貴的車款如 Bugatti Type 57c、Lancia Astura Tipo 233C，以及 Nissan Fairlady Z 432 Model PS30、Nissan Silvia Model CSP311、Mercedes-Benz 300SL Coupe 等經典跑車必看；同時會有不定期特展，有機會看到其他不同的收藏車輛與歷史物品；另外在博物館三樓有圖書室，裡面有各種車款的原始Catalog，非常稀有～如有時間一定要去圖書室翻翻看。
交通部分從名古屋站乘坐東山線至藤丘，轉乘磁浮列車Linimo即可抵達，前往博物館還可順路體驗乘坐Linimo，並且博物館有販售Linimo Choro Q，必收！

It has 6 floors!! Filled to the brim with practical science areas where you can watch the theory be turned into practice. I loved the tornado simulation, it was stunning! There where a lot of school kids visiting though, from young to old children who made heaps of noise but where respectful of those around them.
Small museum dedicated to the amazing art of Hokusai where he was born.
They have a few small galleries, small shop, and what I believe is a lecture hall for events. The building is beautiful and curation in general well selected.
Not all of the plaques are translated from Japanese so be prepared to use phone for translation or their QR code if they provide it for the specific exhibition

2024年5月「水の惑星 -星の旅シリーズ-」を平日午前観に、大人1人で初めて行きました。ギリギリの時間に到着するも、残席からおすすめを選んでもらってテキパキと入場させてくださいました。
職員の方のホスピタリティ、映像・声がしっかり響くくらい高感度な音響システム、プログラム内容、ややこじんまりと感じるハコサイズ(没入感に最適！)、上映時間40分共に大満足！全く眠く無く、終始感動しっぱなし。童心に返れます。プログラムによるでしょうが、大人向けの贅沢なプラネタリウムだと思います。暗転時、目がキュッてなるくらい真っ暗闇になるのも心地よかったです。
大人1,600円と少しお高めでしたが、設備を考えると妥当。ハイクオリティな没入感の体験は、他には代え難い贅沢かつ貴重な経験になりました。まるで席が動いているみたいに宇宙空間や海上の空を飛べましたよ…！SF！(宇宙ファンになりそう)
お土産コーナーもサンプルで香りを嗅げたり、迷っていると声を掛けてくれて質問にも真摯に対応してくださったりと実にご親切。温かい接客で満たされました^ ^
その後、市の科学館さんのプラネタリウムにも興味を持つことができ初めて行ってきましたが、こちらを先に観てしまうと映像の差に拍子抜けしてしまうかと思います(笑)それぞれの良さがあり、キャラ被りは全然していません。ただ順番的には逆の方が良いです。
元々KAGAYAさんのファンで、今回一人旅で帰省した際のアクティビティを探していたときに、コニカミノルタさんのプラネタリウムというものを初めて知りました。東京にもあるんですね、小学校高学年の子供と行ってみたいです^ ^

Pseudo impressive building reflects the content. If you’re looking to see genuine Hokusai prints you’ll be disappointed. The vast majority of exhibits are either digital prints or interactive type projections. The building itself is impressive at first glance but quickly reveals itself as being problematic with a difficult interior aesthetically and practically. Very different to the works of Hokusai.
A display of beautiful origami artwork, not available to purchase, however incredible to look at! The trees are amazing, I would have loved to purchase but I have instead been inspired to make one myself! Lovely staff. There is origami paper, pin badges and a few other things to buy as well. Arigato gozaimas!
日米欧の１９世紀初頭から２０世紀以降の名車１４０台と車文化に関する４０００点ほどの展示があります。クルマ館では古い時代から新しい時代順にクルマが並べられていて技術の進化やその時代の流行りのデザイン等を肌で感じることができます。文化館では車のポスターや雑誌、カーマスコット、クルマに関する玩具の歴史が展示が所狭しと並んでいます。また文化館にあるミュジアムショップではオリジナルグッズだけでなくトミカのミニカーやホットウィールを始めとした車の玩具も沢山販売してます。車好きなら絶対に楽しめる場所だと思います。チケット購入時JAFカード等の提示で割り引きあり。
We didn't have tickets but there were only a few people lining up when we arrived so it was easy to get in. We loved the exhibition but also walking around the park outside.

普通のプラネタリウムとは違い宇宙の解説ではなく、新しい感覚のプラネタリウムなのは理解できますが、40分あるので少し心に残る内容だったらよかったかなと。
今回が楽しめなかっただけで演目によっては面白い可能性はあると思いますが、他の方も同じ意見がちらほら見えるのでやはり脚本力が弱いのかな…と思いました。

I had an incredible experience at the Nagoya City Science Museum! ココが出来てすぐ、トヨタマンだった頃に来て以来、35年ぶりに訪れてみました。やっぱり自分は車好きなんだと再認識する楽しい時間を過ごしました。20代で観るのと50代で観るのでは観点も感想も違うもんですね。展示車や施設の管理は大変だと思いますが末永く残していって欲しいです。
Loved the exhibitions that were on. Quite crowded even though we went on a weekday. I’d recommend booking tickets in advance. Loved the surrounding area too.

車好きでもない自分が約2時間居座ってしまいました。車の歴史や構造など時間を追って説明があるので、非常にわかりやすい展示でした。個人的にはクラシックカー周りが楽しかった。

Watch out for special exhibition. A lot of science things to see that make you forget that you’ve paid for special exhibition but not enough time to see it. For -30°C experience enter at the earliest time for free tickets. Ticket is limited in a day.
トヨタ車以外のメーカーも沢山展示されていました。懐かしい車が見れて昭和の個性豊かなデザインが多く良い時代が蘇りました。車両を見るのも然ることながら各日本メーカーの生い立ちが大きなパネルに系統図で見ることが出来てじっくり眺めることが出来ました。これからも日本の誇る各自動車メーカーに頑張って頂きたいです。
A little bit underwhelming. The architecture of the museum is fantasically modern and it creates an anticipation of greatness, but alas the exhibits betrays the artist's talent. The museum is divided into three parts on two floors. 1) special exhibit, 2) special plus, 3) permanent. The permanent was reproduction of the artists originals. Might as well read a book on it. Special plus has combination of both. And special exhibit are original works on display. And it changes. While i was there, the material wasnt so inspiring, but nonetheless, since I wont ever come here again, i thought i might as well check out an original hokusai print from the special exhibit. Besides the prints on display, they also have some 10 volumes of his sketchbooks on how he drew things. This was more memorable than the actual special exhibit. The other two sections were very thin and disappointing.
The ticket prices are based on if you want to see sections 1, 2 or 3. The permanent stuff was cheapest.

The museum introduces the life work of Hokusai. Entrance fee is 1,000¥ for adults, which includes the entrance fee to the special exhibition as well.
トヨタの歴史よりかは自動車全般の歴史と言ったほうが正しいかもしれません。ただ、自動車産業を学ぶ場所ではとても良い場所になってます。名車も沢山あってとても有意義な時間になりました😁

World class art gallery. I visited to see Takashi Murakami Kyoto Mononoke and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff were all super friendly and many of them able to help in English. They even had audio guides available in multiple languages. There were at least 2 other exhibits I would have loved to see. Recommend buying tickets in advance to cut down on your queueing time (can easily be done through the website and then just screenshot your ticket).

Very nice science museum that is very popular among local children. When we went there , the school bus just about to let off load of kids, so we didn’t go in. The cafeteria has some fantastic serve ice cream. Outside there are plenty to check out. From the rockets to old rail car. Would be better off coming on the weekday.
This is definitely suited to children (really should be called the Children's Science Museum) with lots of simple interactive exhibits. There is no English on the signs and labels. The cool features, like the -30°C room, and electrical room, are on a schedule, so be sure to time those! There were no lines when we went at 11am on a weekday.

Really nice but small display area with friendly staff. We enjoyed it but were done looking at everything closely in 15 minutes.
Great event space and excellent exhibition. Went when was the iconic Murasami exhibition and also checked out the Cubist revolution. Great peaceful space, friendly and helpful staff and the exhibits are world class
展示替えの時に行ったのであまり展示されていなかった。
The museum was so much fun to explore and they had really cool exhibits on every floor! Unfortunately the planetarium was closed when we went but I can imagine that would be awesome to see as well. I enjoyed the special exhibit they had going on, it did take us a minute to find it though as the stairs to the basement aren’t in the same place as the the main escalators we saw everyone taking. Definitely a kid friendly place and lots of things you can interact with.
外観は、大正ロマン漂う佇まいででもお部屋の中は小じんまりしているけど、とてもモダンな印象の素敵なお住まいでした。
御庭も豪華で、大きな桜の木があって、あれは当時からあっかは分かりませんが、とにかく当時からしたら大豪邸でした。

当日購入だったので、席は限られていました、ネットの方で会員さんたちが、席を買われていたようです。
店内には星空にちなんだグッズがたくさん展示されて売られていました。
内容的には40分ほどで、まとめられてました。
Aimer、Coccoさん達の楽曲に乗って星空を見ることができ、ずっと星空の世界に浸っていました！また来たい思います。
駐車券が2時間無料になります。

The Tokyo Origami Museum was a small-but-delightful experience my wife and I had the good fortune to stumble into while traipsing around Tokyo on our honeymoon. While the pieces on display were limited—encompassing only one floor—there was truly spectacular and varied craftsmanship on display. Seeing all of these pieces in one place, by artists of all ages (children to experienced practitioners) gave us the feeling of being in proximity to a global community that creates real beauty out of everyday things. You’ll walkaway inspired, as we did, along with a couple reams of fresh origami paper to try our luck!
To be fair I expected a bit more from this museum. I love Japanese woodblock prints and I saw better exhibitions outside of Japan. Much of the exhibited prints are copies and museum is quite small. Nevertheless, it is interesting to visit. It would not be on the top on my list, but if you have more time- why not to see famous nikishi-e of Hokusai.

Very nice building. Collection is on the small size and nice and pleasant. Worth a visit but lacks any real “wow” factor.
名古屋のプラネタリウムというと市の科学館が有名ですが、こちらもなかなか。
プラネタリウムといいつつ、360度の映画を見ているような感じ。 色々なテーマがあって、知っているプラネタリウムとは全然違いました！ いい意味で期待を裏切られる？

We visited the museum on a cold Wednesday afternoon in early January. We bought the combined ticket to everything and I recommend you do this. The artwork is very accessible, they have and English translation avaliable if need, we didn't use it. The rules about photography could be clearer it said photography without flash was ok but some items had no photography signs by them, as slightly older people without glasses in a dim room we did not see the sign opps. The staff were gracious and welcoming. I recommend you reserve at least 2 hours minimum for this museum, if you like art. It is small but packed with information. The interactive displays were engaging and I should have spent more time on these. The exhibition descriptions in English are good and thought provoking. The shop is tiny, and quite pricey. They do have some affordable gifts / mementos to buy. Given the space they had on the museum it was a magnificent experience.
They had a modern art exhibit with Banksy and KAWS so we went. The tickets were quite pricey for the amount of pieces on display but still happy to have seen some Banksy pieces in real lift.
One of our favourite places in Kyoto because it’s walking distance from beautiful temples & downtown and the modern art exhibitions are usually here, but it’s such a big space that they usually have various exhibition rooms with great traditional/ local art as well.
It also has a beautiful view of the zoo across the street - the giraffe family is just outside the window- and has a lovely room upstairs to get away from everyone and rest a bit.
Good coffee, restaurants, local shops, convenience store & a beautiful river nearby + a couple of other great museums some of which are free (photography museum).

The hours are wrong on Google and we ended up going to see nothing. It was closed today and wasted a trip here. It looks like a shop and not really a museum. Very disappointed. Not recommended
If you are interested in Japanese weapons and history, this place is your best choice.

プラネタリウムと音楽を楽しみたいのとAimerのファンなのもあって｢SONGS for the PURANETARIUMU -星空と巡るプレイリスト- ｣を選びました。
ウェルカムドームは立体感があって本当に雪が降ってくる感覚になりました。
本編もストーリーがあって音楽とのマッチングも良かったです。
ただ1ヵ所だけ音楽と映像とのミスマッチだなって思う所があって少し残念でした。
それでも星空を見ながらの音楽はリラックス出来てゆっくりした時間を過ごせて良かったです。

This is the heaven for Hokusai fans. The museum is situated in modern designed building which has 5 floors including basement. There is a playground infront of the museum. The entry fee is 400Yen. Normally visitors can enjoy two exhibition floors 3rd and 4th but due to the preparation for upcoming exhibition- only 4th floor is open. The paintings in the museum are replicas of the original. There are touch screens which tell you the stories behind the paintings ( you can choose the languages- English / Chinese etc). Photos are allowed without flashes ( as per receptionist from the ticket counter). They have small gift shop near the entrance opposite to the ticket counter. It took me around 45 minutes to 1 hour to look through and taking pictures. The museum may not be for everyone but if you are Hokusai fans- this is must place to visit in Tokyo.
Disrespectful to visitors on 5 December 2023. Permanent exhibition limited to only one small room with replicas. The rest of the museum is in preparation for the special exhibition Hokusai & Samurai starting 14 December 2023. I planned my trip to this museum. Consulting their official website beforehand, including the plan your visit part. Nowhere is there mention of the almost complete closure of the museum. Only upon arrival when buying your ticket do they inform you that only one small room with replicas is open. Since already there you expect the better of it. Within 30 minutes including a visit to the shop you are outside. What a shame not informing your visitors very clear on your website beforehand.
I watched the "Songs for the Planetarium". I like the story a lot. Not crowded at all on Monday evening.
Mooi museum met vele mooie auto,s
大正〜昭和にかけて活躍し、「路傍の石」「真実一路」などの代表作で知られる作家 山本有三が住んでいた洋館が記念館として公開されている。
三鷹駅の南口を降りて、吉祥寺方面に「風の散歩道」を歩いていくと、右側に大正時代に建てられた趣ある洋館がそれ。
敷地は広く、北側の庭は公園になっていて、のんびりお散歩ができる。
独特なデザインがめずらしい煙突や個性的な暖炉ほか、美しいステンドグラス、当時使用していた調度品や自筆原稿など見所がたくさんある。
