One of the worst experience I've faced in my entire life.
We have ordered a nasigurang but they brought set menu one, they didn't even apologize worst thing is they try to force us to take that set menu thing that we didn't want. After that we left place. So avoid this one worst in entire srilanka. Looking at the comments section no replies from owner so they don't even care to look at customers feedback simply they don't care. Please avoid this place.

Feroz the restaurant manager was so warm and welcoming to our group of 10 as we arrived at this historical property. The Sunday brunch spread with free flow Prosecco and beer had international and local Sri Lankan flavours. The most outstanding dish was the Flower Crab Curry was exceptionally delicious with its coconut milk & mild spices not overwhelming the sweetness of the crab.

Great place!! Worth the bucks. 😅

Service was terrible. Just the worse. Workers are slow lethargic and confused.
Place looks gloomy. Ants on the table.
Water glasses had ants in it.

Took 45 minutes for the food to arrive(weird because they have food readymade and on display)

Food was horrible. Lots of msg. Flavor was lacking. Portion sizes were very small for the price paid.
Ordered a sizzling chicken dish that was mayonnaise on spicy chicken.

The drinks were also bad. Just sugary water to put in short.

Just avoid this place if you value your sanity and health.

Das Bacco Italian Restaurant in Negombo ist zweifellos ein Juwel. Als Paar hatten wir das Vergnügen, zweimal dort zu essen und waren beide Male beeindruckt. Die Küche serviert schmackhafte italienische Gerichte, die den Gaumen verwöhnen. Im Vergleich zu anderen Restaurants in der Gegend zeichnet sich der Service durch seine Schnelligkeit aus.

Die Lage direkt am Strand verleiht dem Restaurant ein romantisches Ambiente, das perfekt für ein Dinner zu zweit ist. Die Aussicht auf das Meer trägt zur Entspannung und zum Genuss des Essens bei.

Leider hatten wir bei unserem zweiten Besuch in unserem Cocktail mehrere Haare gefunden, was uns zunächst überrascht hat und nicht zu unserem ersten positiven Eindruck passte. Glücklicherweise reagierte das Restaurant umgehend und ersetzte den Cocktail ohne jegliche Beanstandung.

Trotz dieses kleinen Vorfalls war unser Gesamteindruck positiv. Das Bacco Italian Restaurant bietet eine angenehme Atmosphäre, leckeres Essen und guten Service. Es ist definitiv einen Besuch wert, besonders für Paare, die ein romantisches Abendessen am Strand genießen möchten.

When I was searching for a good buffet for our family reunion after 8 years, Kingsbury buffet was highly recommended by many.
Can I just say the rumours were true.
We were warmly welcomed and showed to our table by the very friendly staff of the harbour court.
From there the experience only went above and beyond expectations.

The food: absolutely delicious and elegantly presented. I loved everything Sri Lankan they had on offer. The crew went above and beyond by preparing a chicken curry that my husband wanted, just for him. The pasta made by chef Prashanth was out of this world. My daughter who eats pasta wherever she goes said this was the best she’s had so far. Dessert bar is beyond imagination.

The service: exceptional! Everyone is smiling and in true Sri Lankan spirit.

Atmosphere: relaxed and calm atmosphere in the restaurant even when it was busy.

Thank you harbour court staff for making our experience at your restaurant a memorable one. We’ll be back next time when we’re in Sri Lanka too. 🙏🏾

Das Restaurant ist super schick eingerichtet, total angenehm temperiert (Klimaanlage gut eingestellt) und preislich gut.
Wir hatten Chicken Quesadilla (drei Dreiecke), die richtig lecker waren und für ein Café war es auch eine ausreichende Menge. Einziger Wermutstropfen waren die nur 4 Stück Pommes, die es dazu gab (beim Burger auch nicht mehr).
Da wir aber großen Hunger hatten, haben wir noch eine Waffel mit Bananen, Nutella und einer Kugel Eis bestellt - sehr lecker und super geeignet zum Teilen.
Empfehlen können wir auch die Fresh Juices, gerade bei Temperaturen über 30 Grad eine angenehme und leckere Erfrischung.
Alles wird auf stylischer Brettern aus Holz serviert und erinnert kulinarisch eher an Europa, als an Sri Lanka.
Für alles zusammen haben wir 4350 Rupien bezahlt. Also ein richtig gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis!

Kingsbury Harbour Court Restaurant offers the best brunch buffet on the island, boasting a vast spread of delectable dishes accompanied by captivating live music. Personal favorites include the sushi selection and the meat area, which never disappoint. Service is impeccable, although the high price of bottled mineral water is a downside. However, complimentary glasses of water are readily available, ensuring a delightful dining experience overall.

Really nice place for lunch! We had a pleasant experience here and the only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the fact that portions were very small for the price. The staff were really friendly and the cafe is very modern and clean!

Essen gibt 5 Sterne. Allerdings hatte ich mich an den Preisen orientiert, welche man hier auf einem Foto von der Karte findet. Als ich dann dort war, war es schon um einiges teurer. Aussicht und Essen sind gut.

Mango ice cream was the tastes as if you are having a real fruit.. this is some of the best ice cream found in anuradhapura.

Liebe Leute, ich war als Kind jeden Sommer in Italien und sage Euch, eine bessere Meeresfrüchtepizza wie hier in diesem Strandrestaurant habe ich noch nie bekommen. Reichlich belegt, einfach sagenhaft. Der Kellner hat sich sehr aufmerksam um uns gekümmert, kam öfters zum Tisch, um sicherzustellen, dass es uns an nichts mangelt.
Wir hatten als Vorspeise Muscheln und einen gemischten Salat,das Olivenöl war megalecker. Immer wieder gerne, vielen Dank 😊

So I tried this place and it's nice. The atmosphere here is nice and the overall presentation is very good. We tried the bubble tea and some pineapple juice, fish fingers and some Korean fried chicken waffles. which was excellent. Portion size could have been better but not much of an issue.

Next we got some Chicken loaded fries and a quesadilla....again it was good.

Finally I got a classic chicken 6 inch submarine and tacos. The tacos were fine however the submarine which only had onions and chicken in it (if I had opted out of onions I would just have got bread and chicken) was not upto standards at all. I came here expecting what other customers have posted and it was not even close to what was offered earlier.

Ein Stück Italien in Sri Lanka! Wir waren ab und zu hier am Abend essen, wenn wir mal ein wenig Abwechslung zu Kottu und Currys benötigten. Die Pizza aus dem Steinofen ist echt toll! Man kann schön am Strand sitzen und auch der Service ist super! Klare Empfehlung 👍

Recently dined at Harbor Court by The Kingsbury Hotel and overall, it was a pleasant experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

While the cost per head was on the higher side, at almost 7,000LKR without beverages, the wide variety of cuisines available made it worth considering. From Sri Lankan to Indian, Thai, Japanese, Italian, Western, and a variety of desserts, there was something for everyone.

However, I found that the taste of the dishes didn't quite meet my expectations, as they lacked sufficient seasoning. Additionally, the absence of salt and pepper containers on the tables was a downside, as it limited the option to adjust seasoning according to personal preference.

On the bright side, the live stations for pasta, hoppers, and stir-fried meats added an interactive element to the dining experience, enhancing the overall ambiance.

In conclusion, while there were some areas for improvement, such as seasoning and table amenities, it was still a good dining experience at Harbor Court.

Tolle stylische Location mit gutem Essen zu guten Preisen

Having stayed 3 nights at this Hotel, we tried the Breakfast, dinner (a la carte) and Hi-tea. Breakfast and dinner were good, many choices, with an egg station, waffle and pancakes etc. No complaints about the breakfast. We expected more from the Hi-Tea here after our experience at The Grand Hotel at Nuwara Eliya. Sitting at the Verandah while watching the sun set is an amazing experience

I recently went to the lunch buffet.

They were so welcoming at the entrance. The food was okay, but the spread was not quite as expected. They had not even replenished the finished items, so I couldn't try them all. Salad Corner was amazing, having a variety of salads and stuff but only cheddar and Swiss cheese.

The Italian section was good. Their beef and pork dishes are highly recommended. Indian dishes are good; you can try them if you wish, but I'm not going to recommend them. In western dishes, there is pork and a full chicken piece available. You can ask the person to give you a piece, and they will give you that piece. It was amazing. 😍 Ilove it, especiallyy pork 😋.

Personally, I don't like their Chinese food. Most of them are raw and frozen foods. The space was crowded, but luckily we had the table towards the corner.

Dessert Corner had only a few varieties with some assorted chocolate, but they showed us that they had lots of desert, but you could feel everything was the same.

The best dinner buffet, 'they say', can't beat some regional-based restaurant foods.

Went for the dinner buffet. Everything was top notch from the atmosphere to the food. Live stations, especially the seafood one was one of the best. The range of food they have to offer is worth the price and quite makeup for a good dining experience. Highly recommended.

We had a seafood set menu and a virjin mojito. Seafood set menu was ok but the mojito tasted just some lime. Average taste.

First time at the Kingsbury brunch and was definitely impressed by the spread. Had a wide variety of different cuisines from western, Indian, Asian fusion to local curries. There was something for everyone and would definitely come again.

One criticism would be the drinks need to be a bit more alcohol forward!

We experienced a High Tea Buffet with a diverse range of food choices, but there is room for improvement in staff service.

Undoubtedly the biggest spread in Colombo star hotels! They had several live counters which served pasta, Thai food, chicken, etc. It was crowded all the time during our stay but there is plenty of food. The staffs were courteous even during rush hours! It’s a little too loud at times otherwise I’d rate 4.5/5

The place always we gather with our friends. The food was always fresh and tasty. Not too crowded and you can enjoy some quality time in this place. They maintain their standard all the time and happy to see such a restaurant in Anuradhapura. The good part is they always added some new food items to their menu. 😋 Keep it up. ✨

This Kandy restaurant has a classic vibe. The atmosphere isn't fancy, but they offer daily specials and set menus. We tried both, and the portions and taste were good. Convenient parking, and the service is quick.

We went for the Sunday Brunch in December 2023. The food options are really good. To start with, their brunch starts at 11.30am. I think it is a bit too late for a brunch. The soup was nice.
Best part was the grilled meat section.
They used an amazing concept of labelling the stations in the Buffett as per train stations in the southern railway.
Dessert options had some nice cakes which I enjoyed. These days there is a dialog gienie credit card offer which gives a 50% off. The best part of the Buffett was the live music. There was an amazing violin player.

Came for an office dinner. The food was good.

They had varieties, Indian, Chinese, Pasta Corner and several others.

I remember the on demand meat corner from 7 years back which I was expecting to see but did not come across.

The dessert section is good, I saw actual varieties of items including chocolates.

I would say the price is reasonable to what they are offering.

Was let down by poor service. The place is overflowing with people on the Friday night I went. There were 2 office groups. So not sure if that's the reason the service is a bit clumsy.

I did not see the side plates to keep the cutleries when moving to the next course. The plates are not removed for 2 courses.
But when we pointed out we got the service we deserved.

On my second visit on the same week, the side plates were there but the ice cream guy is a bit rude in the way he was pointing at parents ordering them to keep the children away from touching the desserts, when a kid is pointing and not touching the desserts. Not sure of the management has asked him to do so, but there should have been a better way to tell it. At least at the entrance.

Cant blame anyone here. But I think the buffet/hotel team should know their limit and plan accordingly or maybe have more staff in place if expecting a large crowd. Cant expect time decipline from the people so the management has to take it on their shoulders.

I highly recommend this place for a variety of food worth the money you pay.

Wir hatten ein tolles Abendessen im Bacco. Die Pizza war die beste die wir in Sri Lanka hatten. Unser Kellner Joga war sehr nett und hat uns jeden Wunsch erfüllt. Jederzeit würden wir dieses Restaurant und seinen Service weiterempfehlen!!!😊🤘🏻🍕😇😍

Nous avons bien mangé, l’assortiment de hopper est une super idée

Sehr hippes Café mit leckerem Essen, gutem Service und einem Schwerpunkt auf das Design des Interieurs, welches aber durchaus sehr gelungen ist. Die Instagrammer finden es jedenfalls großartig. Der Cappuccino ist 1a!

Die Pizzen hier kommen direkt aus einem Steinofen und sind sehr lecker sowohl als Veganer als auch als Vegetarier kommt man hier auf seinen Genuss.

Wir hatten als erstes Pizza Magaritha und eine vegetarische Pizza und beim 2. Besuch durfte es erneut Pizza sein, und traditionell italienisch, porbierten wir die Tortelloni.

Alle Gerichte waren sehr lecker, frisch und leicht bekömmlich.

Wir werden beim nächsten Aufenthalt in Negombo, wieder dort essen.

Der Blick auf den Strand und den Ozean dahinter rundet den Aufenthalt ab.

Es liegt etwas versteckt im ersten Stock (schmaler Eingang). Sehr schön eingerichtet, aufmerksamer Service und gute Auswahl. Wir haben Milchshake, Wraps und Submarine getestet und alles war sehr sehr lecker und mit einem guten Preis/Leistungsverhältnis.

This place now sells exclusive Sri Lankan food. Some of them are creative and innovative like coloured String Hoppers, Pittu and Hoppers. The curd was fresh, and the Aggala was genuine. Overall, the food was quite tasty and reasonably priced. However, their customer service needs a lot of improvement.

As I remember this place was a great place before. But I had a vegitable fried rice & a chicken fried rice day before yesterday. It tasted too dry and pale. I remember past hell of taste this place had. But unfortunately this place couldn't get that fortune now. I tried both but both tasted the same. atmosphere is so great to dine in. More space available. Best place to spend a time with a family. You can discuss anything and privacy there is somehow good. Parking area is vast so you dont have to bother. Service is good but not best. They do that fast and I didnt have to wait more time. More crew there so no sloth situations. 😜 The price is little high but the food is not that great. I am not satisfied with it. Not really recommend it. Buy at your own risk.

You can take away or have it at that place also but if your dining in service is kind of bad. You have to wait like forever. They priorities take aways which brings more business to them.

Tolle Pizza aus dem Holzofen. Super Service. Gute Weinauswahl. Schöne Plätze draußen

Wir wurden am Strand (circa 800m vom Café) von einem Freund von Shiva (Besitzer des Café Nilaveli) angesprochen, der sein Essen empfohlen und noch freie Zimmer hat. Für den Preis sind die Zimmer in Ordnung aber man darf hier nicht zu hohe Erwartungen haben, da kann es schonmal vorkommen dass eine Maus auf dem Dach ihr Unwesen treibt. Das Abendessen war super lecker, er kauft jeden Morgen seine Ware frisch auf dem Markt. Wir waren leider die einzigen Gäste in dieser Nacht und Shiva's Zuhause ist ein Kilometer weg vom Café, da war uns etwas unwohl aber wir haben seine Handynummer zur Sicherheit bekommen. Shiva ist sehr freundlich und überaus hilfsbereit. Wir hatten nicht genügend Bargeld, also wurde ich in der Früh mit in die Stadt und auf den Markt genommen. Das war auf jeden Fall eine tolle Erfahrung.

Essen war in Ordnung und auch bei uns gab es etwas zu Trinken mit dazu. Das Mangoeis war echt lecker als Dessert. Ambiente verbesserungswürdig. Es ist ein großes Grundstück, das leider sehr ungepflegt daher kommt.

Sehr netter Besitzer, der sehr gut Englisch kann. Das Essen (vor allem die Rotti) war sehr lecker. Preis ist mir 750 Rs für ein Hauptgericht mit Flasche Wasser und Dessert angemessen. Vor allem die frisch gemachten Fruchtsäfte sind sehr zu empfehlen. Wer sich nicht an Plastikstühlen und einer landesüblichen Toilette stört ist hier genau richtig.

Das Essen war gut. Ein großes Wasser und Dessert dabei. Nett & hilfsbereit, auch wenn er etwas ruhiger ist.

In this guesthouse we stayed for 2 weeks (I must have lost my mind) and the accommodation included breakfast, so the price seemed good to us. We hadn't been in other guesthouses of Sri Lanka so we thought that it was that dirty everywhere. BUT it was dirty only at Siva`s!

Awfully dirty rooms and kitchen! Dirty bedding and decaying insects in the bathroom. Once I witnessed the owner washing the dishes - it would be better Iif I didn't.

The owner, having learned that we were going to leave this place a week earlier than we planned, was furious and just drove us out in the middle of the night! ALTHOUGH WE HAD 2 MORE DAYS OF ACCOMMODATION PREPAYED! By the way, in the end of May, during the tourist season, we did not notice any tourists in his cafe and guesthouse that are so overrated on airbnb and tripadvisor, so we certainly did not occupy anybody's place.

The owner expressed his wish that we leave his guesthouse right now with the help of obscene lexicon. Among other things, he shouted: "This is my place and my rules!"

He forgot that we met his requests earlier. Just a week ago Siva was crying that he needed to feed his family and asked to leave a payment in advance for a week, which we did (and which was so stupid). After that he just drove us, two girls, out in the night on the street, when we asked to return the part of the prepayment for those nights that we will not live with him.

This characterizes him as a person a lot.

As for the food - it was very fat. A lot of garnish, and very little fish. During eating the owner stayed behind us (probably to make sure we didn't choke) and after each bite he would ask "Did you like it?". I do not know what would happen if I said "no". After the case described above, I would not have dared to remain with him tet-a-tet to show any doubt about his cooking.

In general, I do not advise this place to anyone. An extremely unpleasant experience.

В данном гестхаусе мы жили 2 недели (с ума сошли наверное) и проживание включало завтрак, поэтому цена показалась нам хорошей. В других гестхаусах Шри-Ланки мы не были и поэтому подумали, что тут везде так грязно. Но Грязно оказалось только у Сивы!

Ужасно грязные комнаты и кухня! Грязное постельное белье и разлагающиеся насекомые в ванной комнате. Однажды я присутствовала при мытье хозяином посуды - лучше бы я этого не видела.

Хозяин, узнав, что мы собираемся покинуть это место на неделю раньше запланированного, пришел в бешенство и просто выгнал нас посреди ночи! Хотя у нас было проплачено еще 2 дня проживания! К слову, в конце мая, в самый сезон, не заметили мы наплыва туристов в его кафе и гестхаус хваленые на airbnb и tripadvisor, поэтому мы уж точно не занимали ни чье место.

Хозяин выражал свое желание о том, чтобы мы покинули прямо сейчас его гестхаус при помощи нецензурной лексики. Среди прочего он прокричал: " Это мое место и мои правила!"

О том, что мы пошли ему на встречу, он забыл. Сива плакался неделю назад, что ему нужно кормить свою семью и просил оставить предоплату за неделю, что мы и сделали по своей глупости. Ведь позже он просто выгнал нас, двух девушек, ночью на улицу, когда мы попросили вернуть часть предоплаты за те ночи, которые жить у него мы не будем.

Это очень характеризует его как личность.

Что касательно еды - очень жирная пища. Много гарнира - и очень мало рыбы. Хозяин во время приема вами пищи стоит все время позади (наверное, чтобы вы не поперхнулись) и после каждого откусанного ломтика спрашивает "Вам понравилось?". Не знаю, что будет если сказать "нет". После случая описанного выше, я бы не решалась оставшись с ним тет-а-тет выказывать какие-либо сомнения о его стряпне.

В общем никому не советую. Остался очень не приятный осадок.
