A Must-Visit in Puerto Aventuras: Pelican Point Restaurant Excels Again!
Pelican Point never disappoints! I had the pleasure of dining there again today, and it was a truly exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting.
For starters, I dove into the mussels in white wine. The flavor was absolutely incredible – a perfect balance of savory and herbaceous. The clams in their shells were equally delightful – the freshness shone through in every bite.
But the real star of the show was the centollo crab for my main course. Spectacular doesn't even begin to describe it! The preparation was flawless, allowing the crab's natural sweetness to take center stage.
To top it all off, I finished with a decadent chocolate mousse. It was the perfect ending to a truly memorable meal.
This wasn't my first visit to Pelican Point – I first came in 2016, and it's become a must-do on every trip to Puerto Aventuras. The quality of the food is undeniable, and the flavors are truly mind-blowing. But it's not just the food; the service is outstanding as well. Guillermo, the owner, was fantastic – attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable.

This place was fantastic! The service was phenominal! I pulled my hand fan out because I was very hot and the (possibly owner or manager?) came and brought a large fan and directed it towards our table without us even having to say a word (it was very refreshing). They had a live saxophone player and they brought cute little flower clips for all the women (it was almost Mother's day). I had some of the best food I had in Mexico here. The rolls they serve before dinner were all different types to satisfy many pallettes. They had vegetarian menu options and one vegan option but could be served a few different ways. I had what I would equate to fettuccine alfredo and it was wonderful. We also shared a dessert which was delicious and had a dessert coffee (also delicious). I normally remember the names of the food/drink but it took me a month to write this review. I had a hard time finding it again on Google Maps but this experience was so wonderful I wanted to make sure they got this review! I will also shout out the gentleman that served us was so wonderful and accommodating, I would highly recommend this place to anyone! I will mention, this is a very nice so expect to pay for it. It is definitely on the higher price spectrum but you get what you pay for!
This place is amazing! Best tuna ceviche ever! Super chil place for amazing fish/shrimp/tuna tacos. Love the local feel of this restaurant in this tourist town. Menue is only in Spanish (no English option) and not all servers speak English, but we all figured it out.

I had two incredible (and big) seafood tacos, and a perfectly spicy and tangy ceviche. Plus I was able to work on my computer with wifi there, definitely recommend.

Une parrillade de poisson avec de succulents accompagnement pour 1300 pesos à deux ,des langoustes pour 741 pesos chacun ,des ribssa la parillade et du lambis (gros escargot que vous trouverez dans la mer des Caraïbes ).Les ceviches de poissons sont à tomber par terre.
Le personnel est très accueillant et serviable.

We had a wonderful meal here last night as our wedding meal - by far the best food we have had in Mexico! A party of 4, we each ordered a different dish and everything was fantastic! Great portions and all dishes including the octopus and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. Would definitely recommend and return ourselves.
Traumhafte Lage mit tollem Blick auf den Hafen, schönes gepflegtes Ambiente und neben wirklich gutem Essen ein netter, aufmerksamer Service. Sehr zu empfehlen ist übrigens die sopa de mariscos!

- food was not served after 2 hours of ordering on a Saturday lunch.
- we were waiting for the receipt correction and the waiter had to argue with us when the kids in the party had already left.

This place is definitely overrated, the relation what u get dot what u pay its huge. The food is so so and very pricey, but the service is very poor. The only thing I liked was the Michelada... but it costs like if u were buying it in a fancy restaurant at the 5th Avenue... not in a small place in pueblo. I would go back to that place.

So muss ein Mexicanisches Fisch Restaurant aussehen und schmecken. Alles war sehr lecker und frisch. Sogar die Frozen Mango Mageritas oder Mojitos waren sehr gut. Wir waren gestern Abend da und unser deutscher Magen hat alles gut vertragen. Empfehlen können wir Cervize Camerones, Camerones in Tequilla mit Aioli ,Camerones in Kokos Panade mit Mango dip und auch die Calamari frittiert. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
This spot is amazing. The food is 5/5 and the treat you muy bueno. Like familia. I have eaten here 2 times and plan on once more before we leave. Joseph makes it very special.
Puerto Aventuras en su parte de los Canales y muelles esta bastante bien cuidado, limpio y con una varied6de tiendas y restaurantes.
Altamente recomendable para pasar un de Días de descanso o si piensas en un lugar para una temporada larga o de retiro.

Great little gem in the small town of Puerto Adventurous. Great food service and atmosphere. The smells draw you in. And it's definitely worth it.
Stopped here on my way to Tulum. The best tacos I had during my stay in Tulum and Cancun.
Lo recomiendo y volvería a este lugar, el trato amable y es un lugar aunque sencillo, la comida esta muy rica. Todos salimos contentos después de experiencias horribles en el servicio al cliente en Playa del Carmen
El lugar es pequeño, se paga en efectivo, el sabor de los tacos es bueno, te dan algunas salsas y aderezos para acompañar. Sombrillas en la calle, en esta temporada el clima es perfecto para el exterior, creo que está más fresco que años atrás.
We were staying at the nearby Hotel and Beach Club. Found this restaurant and were blown away!! Superior food, warm and friendly service, reasonable prices, local authenticity. Moisés is a wonderful server!! Go here if you want high quality and authentic food and experience!! Highly recommend!!

El Mero Mero Mexican restaurant is a real hidden gem! The food is super fresh, especially the garlic-infused fish and the crispy chicken tacos. The staff are incredibly welcoming, even though we're still learning Spanish. They treated us and our kids so nicely, and everyone left with big smiles.
We couldn't resist trying almost every taco on the menu! The kids loved the chicken torta and chicken taco dorados. We also tried both versions of their tostadas, and my personal favorite was the pulpo (octopus) one!
We indulged in basically every dessert too, even though we were only half hungry when we went in! The atmosphere was so great, we couldn't help but enjoy everything.
We loved it so much that we went back the next day for more tacos, and the kids devoured hot cakes and eggs with bacon.
We'll definitely be returning again soon! 🫶

Heerlijke plaats om te eten. Echte Mexicaanse sfeer en heerlijke vis.
Я часто заглядываю в это кафе, когда гуляю с внуками в парке Муниципалитета. Достаточно вкусно! Свежие морепродукты. Быстро готовят, подают, но не уютно совершенно. Столы стоят на проезжей части. Другая часть столов внутри кафе, рядом с кухней, откуда пылает жар и запах готовящихся блюд. Хочется быстро поесть и ни на минуту не задержаться.
We had some of the best mussels ever! The octopus was delicious and a huge portion. The captains catch was well cooked. I got it with the cheese on top which was very yummy but a little too much cheese as it left me with no room for dessert. Service was great and there was a live musician for part of the meal.

Sehr leckeres, bezahlbares Essen am Strand. Ich hatte das beste Fischfilet der gesamten Reise. Die Frau im Service hat uns sehr nett beraten. Eine wahre Oase in dieser lauten Partystadt. Danke!

El buffet cumple con su propósito. La comida es siempre la misma pero tenes variado. Mucha fila para todo sobre todo para los postres. La atención es buena en general. Deberían poner más variedad de desayunos porque por ejemplo los argentinos estamos acostumbrados a desayunar café con pan, manteca, mermeladas, dulces y esas cosas y no hay. Solo “mantequilla” q es margarina; no es manteca. El café a veces te lo sirven frío. Las comidas están pensadas para estadounidenses, no para argentinos y los segundos que más visitamos el resort somos los argentinos.
What an amazing evening. Beautiful scenery. Delicious food. We had the chicken and the octopus. So much food! But by far, the magic was our Mayan Coffee made with love by Gerry! Can’t wait to come back. Thanks to the entire staff for helping us celebrate a very special birthday.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Mero Mero. They were out of the famous Thursday pozole but we enjoyed the Mero Mero Shrimp and an arrachera burrito. Both were fresh and delicious. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We will be back.
I'd been to Puerto Aventuras before and never discovered this place until a local told us about it. Great food from the grill. The kids even loved it, especially the onion rings. Call ahead and reserve a table so you don't have to wait.
The staff are so welcoming here! So happy and such genuine people. Although we are still quite new at communicating in Spanish they treated us so well and our children left with the biggest smiles.

Bestes Mexikanisches Seafood Restaurant!!! Authentisch, freundlich und die Qualität ist auf höchstem Niveau. Offene Küche und egal was man bestellt, es ist traumhaft lecker. Unbedingt besuchen wenn man in Playa Del carmen ist😃

A place that I almost missed. The foods are fresh, the fish with garlic is the best, perfectly seasoned, well fried, mixed with the scent of garlic and lime; the chicken taco, used crispy shell like egg rolls, topping with the light cream and cabbage, surprising and delicious

La ubicación y estilo ecoturistico muy bien, lo único rescatable son sus áreas arqueológicas y culturales. Después de las 9 difícilmente te toca cena caliente, tal como se comento en Sandos necesita más buffetes habilitados con la disponibilidad adecuada acorde a los estándares qué le corresponden como "ecoresort"
Great food and more of an authentic atmosphere - especially compared to what you would get in places like Cancun. We had the seafood tower and coconut shrimp. Both are highly recommended.

Zu Stoßzeiten ist es sehr voll und man muss warten bis einem ein freier Tisch zugeordnet wird. Die Auswahl an Essen ist groß und von allem ist etwas da, sogar als Vegetarier findet man hier gut etwas zum Essen. Das einzige Manko ist das man sein Besteck und Getränke vom Personal bekommt und es teilweise ziemlich lange dauert bis dies passiert, entweder geht man dann selber zu denen und holt sich das oder man wartet ewig. Das Konzept dahinter verstehe ich nicht ganz, in allen anderen Hotels, in denen ich schon war, nimmt man sich sein Besteck und großteils auch die Getränke selbständig.
Spacious local restaurant serving tons of seafood. Lots of tourists and some locals on our time there. I got the seafood tower and that could feed 3 people probably! Taste was great - if you’ve eaten ceviche, it’s pretty similar. Pina colada was fine - I wanted to taste more pina but overal good! You get chips and salsa before you order and the spaghetti pomodoro was the best part of the meal!
Ceviche excellent and also the best octopus I ever had! So tender and spicy just the way I like it! If you don’t like spicy food,maybe try something else, everything looked good! I will definitely go again!😋

The black ceviche was interesting and the chicken kebab was tasty. He also ordered drinks and lychee ice cream dessert which was good too. And the most important thing is it was much less expensive than the restaurant in the Marina area.
So will I go back? Yes. Will I recommend it? sure.

I only walked here using the public footpath (a bit overgrown in places) approaching from the west. There are signs stating this is private but apparently this only applies to the furniture. Beautiful spot. I walked on the big rocks all the way to the point. Not much to do here if you're not staying as a guest but the beach is beautiful and well maintained.

Whilst spending 8 days in Puerto Aventuras we tried many of the best restaurants. There are many good options but, standing out far and above the rest, was Pelican Point. After being warmly welcomed by Guillermo, the host and owner, he brought refreshments and proceeded to explain the fresh fare and preparation. He is extremely knowledgeable and entertaining and left us, mouths watering, wanting one of everything.
We started with the delicious Caesar Salad for two, made tableside. Next we had two of the three fresh catch entrees, Wahoo and Grouper. These dishes, prepared as recommended by Guillermo, were exceptional. There were also excellent shellfish and meat / poultry choices on his extensive menu. Excellent bar with a great wine and cocktail selection.
The restaurant is in a beautiful setting. Great ambience with marina views. Highly recommend Pelican Point as one of your finest dinner choices in PA!

Gutes und sehr günstiges Restaurant. Tagsüber können auch Liegestühle mit Sonnenschirmen gemietet werden. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne zum Tarraya.

Amazing staff! Food was fantastic! Everything we ate was delicious. My favorite was the tostada mixto. The seafood had the perfect texture. It was soft and NOT tough. The food presentation and attention to detail definitely surpassed my expectations. I would definitely come here again.

The best food we've had during our trip to Mexico! Try the Fish Tacos Al Pastor, they are probably the best tacos I've ever had. Portions are large, service is great. Venture across the highway to eat at this place!!
Sehr schön am Strand gelegen. Der Blick zum Meer lädt zum entspannen ein. Essen ist auch sehr lecker und günstig, Guacamole 65,-. Getränke ebenso günstig, Mitarbeiter freundlich. WiFi und Toiletten vorhanden. Teilweise kommen einheimische Musiker und machen Stimmung. Klare Empfehlung.
