I was only able to see the three ships due to external time constraints (not the fault of the museum) but even the three ships were worth it. Very well maintained, lots of interesting historical information, and the people working there (especially on the stream ship) were very helpful and knowledgeable.
Wish I had more time to explore. Such an interesting museum. I recommend the North area (boat) and the East side, Floor 1 (particularly the map/cartography room)
Much more intetesting than I expected, with old nautical instruments, old maps and ships ornaments. You xan also visit the ship in front of it. Have a coffee in the inner court, it's a beautiful relaxing place, designed as a compass.
If you love history and want to learn/see something about Dutch navy, ships, this will be perfect place for you. You have inside museum but also you can have outside look. Inside you have more floors and all is made very nice.I think museum is family friendly and they also have part for kids. Personally I am not big fun of this type of museums but it was nice to see something different.
This was my favorite museum that we visited in Amsterdam, especially after the crowds at the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum. It would be easy to be intimidated by the size of the building and the ship outside, but we found the space manageable to peruse in about 2.5 hours. I deeply appreciated the museum's reckoning with the atrocities of Dutch colonialism, though at times the effects were mentioned but not sufficiently explored. I loved the almost free rein we had to explore the Amsterdam ship reconstruction, especially the opportunity to see the engineering behind the rudder. It's a really great space overall and I anticipate visiting again on my next visit to the city.

Déjà nous sommes français et aucune explication en français même pas leur flyer nous devons pas être les seuls français à venir ici??
Ensuite payé 53€ pour 3…. Et voir beaucoup de maquettes … les maquettes sont vraiment très belle et très bien faite mais je trouve cela assez cher. Le pire! Je crois que c’est l’expérience…. On s’attendait à vraiment un simulateur au final on s’est retrouvé à appuyer sur des boutons ou jouer sur une tablette. Ça ne vaut pas le coup de payer pour le musée vaut mieux voir les bateaux à l’extérieur du musée et le pavillon port

The National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands was a real treat. There was so much to see. The museum is well laid out and fun to tour through.
The full-size ship docked at the museum was exciting to explore. I only hit my head once! It is truly hard to believe how people sail so far on ships so small compared to ships of today.
The display of ship's mastheads was impressive and interesting to view. The very large and detailed model ships were magnificent. The atrium in the center of the museum is very large and inviting. It is a great place to take a break and relax.
This is one museum you don't want to miss when you are in Amsterdam. It has something of the entire family.

Es wäre sinnvoll, die öffnungszeiten auf der website zu aktualisieren. Wir standen vor verschlossenen türen.

Musée très intéressant, adapté à tout âge. Le musée sait se renouveler et proposer des immersions, jeux permettant de mieux comprendre tout en s'amusant. C'est bien le musée à faire à Rotterdam !
Depuis un moment, nous avions l'intention de visiter ce musée, car il prétendait être adapté aux enfants. Cependant, mis à part un grand espace de jeu au dernier étage, le reste était décevant, avec une accumulation de maquettes et de portraits peu intéressants. Quant à Offshore Expérience, nous avons découvert une fois sur place que c'était inaccessible aux enfants de moins de 8 ans. En fin de compte, notre expérience dans ce musée a été décevante.
The Maritime Museum has amazing art and history of the Dutch navy. The old naval storehouse is a nice touch. But the museum is not kids proof as advertised. It lacks fun, interactive, and convenient features for children and families. Good for adults who love art and history. 3 stars.
Scheint so, als sei hier bei Google etwas durcheinander geraten. Hier gibt es KEIN Schifffahrtsmuseum, nur ein Plattbodenschiff im Hof.
Geweldige plek, met een werfterrein, een werkplaats en een rijtje historische schepen. Het was een regenachtige doordeweekse dag. Geen levende ziel te bekennen rond het terrein.
Vorige week was ik aflosschipper op een charterklipper. We lagen aangemeerd vlakbij het Centrum Varend Erfgoed. Een goede gelegenheid om weer eens te kijken hoe de tjalk Zwarte haan erbij lag. Heel mooi dus. Tussen 1993 en 1996 charterden we met dit schip vanuit Harlingen.

A éviter . Ni queue ni tête dans la présentation du musée qui ressemble plus à du zapping qu’autre chose. Aucune logique dans l’organisation, mais surtout quasiment rien sur l’histoire du port, son fonctionnement, ses métiers. Le tout pour un prix assez élevé.
Et bien c'est la chose a faire quand on va à rotterdam, mais j'ai été un peu déçu du contenu du musée... Certes c'est ludique pour les enfants, mais pour le reste il manque quelque chose... Il y a des incohérences concernant les expositions... Notamment des goblets de Starbucks mis volontairement dans des vitrines... À ni rien comprendre des fois
Ce musée incontournable à Rotterdam raconte comment un simple village de pêcheurs est devenu le plus grand Port d'Europe et du monde avant la concurrence des ports asiatiques.
Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas plus d'œuvres mais les espaces pour les enfants sont intéressants notamment la partie "Sea monsters". J'ai tout de même appris beaucoup de choses sur Rotterdam et l'activité maritime.

Die Ausstellung ist super interessant, unerwartet viele Exponate. Mindestens genauso beeindruckend ist das Haus, in dem das Museum untergebracht ist. Sehenswert!
Wunderbare Sammlung in zwei alten Häusern untergebracht, die schon allein den Besuch wert sind. 4,50 € Eintritt für Senioren. Unbedingt besuchen, wenn man in Groningen ist!!
Je ne suis pas fan d'environnement maritime ni de bateaux, mais j'ai tout de même visité. Je n'ai rien ressenti de particulier, même si ça reste intéréssant jusqu'à une certaine limite de découvrir l'histoire maritime des Pays-bas ainsi que de leur héritage.
Par contre, très déçu par "l'expérience spéciale" ou la Offshore Experience, je ne me rappelle même plus du nom.

Le musée est assez spacieux mais les œuvres ne suffisent pas à le combler. C'est un peu à l'image de Rotterdam, grand et vide...
Interessantes Museum rund um die Schiffahrt. Bei einem Rundgang durch die alten Häuser gibt es vieles zu bestaunen. Mehrsprachige Beschilderungen wären schön gewesen, man kam aber auch so klar.
Sehr süsses kleines Museum, schöner Hinterhof. Innen von großen Schiffsmotoren, über Schiffsmodelle in allen Größen, bis hin zu allerlei maritimen Kleinoden, eine bunte Vielfalt an aussgestellten historischen Inhalten! Rund um die Rolle der Seefahrt, in dieser doch eher Binnenstadt zu nennenden City. Historie die auch überrascht, wer das mag, ist hier richtig.
Auch wenn das Museum klein ist sollte man etwas Zeit mitbringen um Inhalte zu lesen.

Auf mehreren Stockwerken gibt es Verschiedenes zum Thema Schiffe zu sehen. Nicht aufregend, aber freundlich und mit Sorgfalt durchdacht. 45 Minuten habe ich dort zugebracht und es war eine nette Abwechslung. 8 € Eintritt ist nicht ganz gerechtfertigt.
Das Schiffahrtsmuseum ist sehr sehenswert
Eine gigantische Austellung, verteilt auf zwei Gebäude und drei Etagen.
Sehr freundlicher Empfang durch die Dame an der Kasse.
Sollte man sich ansehen wenn man in Groningen ist und ein bisschen Zeit hat.
