Our group of 10 friends had a wonderful experience on the Blue Pepper Amsterdam Canal cruise. From the moment we boarded the beautiful boat everything was superb. We were greeted with a glass of champagne. Dinner was delicious and so beautifully presented. The boat was electric and quiet as a whisper. A canal cruise is truly the best way to see Amsterdam. Blue Pepper has set the bar very high for the rest of our trip.
Good food and lots of options for whatever u are craving!! Vibes were good and enjoyed that the robots served us!
Do not be put off by the location - this place is fabulous. What everyone says about Jerry is true, and it's truly commendable because many of his customers will not be fortunate enough to come back again, but he treats everyone like they live just around the corner. The food is great, the price is great, you'd be dumb to go anywhere else for your rijsttafel in Amsterdam, and if you don't know what a rijsttafel is, you pretty much have to go here if you're in Amsterdam. Don't miss it!
Amazing place. They remember everyone’s name who comes in and gives personal service like I haven’t seen since Covid. The food is large shareable portions for both meat and vegetarian lovers.
Thank you for a memorable experience in dinning. I LOVED how each course was designed and explained. The flavors were abosoutly delicious with fresh ingredients. Also enjoyed the wine pairing went perfectly with the spice if each dish. The Szechuan button flower on the desserts were unexpected. ♥️💯🇳🇱
The food was amazing and the owner was great and very friendly, took his time to learn your name. We had the vegetarian menu and it was super great. In the menu there was shrimps and eggs which we don't eat because we don't consider it vegetarian, so he was kind to move it to the side. The tofu ones were the best 100%.

Very nice rijsttafel in the Red Lights District, recommended by a local vendor at the Albert Cuyp Markt. The owner was extremely friendly and attentive. The samplings of vegetarian selections were very good and there was plenty of food for the two of us!
Traditional Indonesia food. Small and quaint place. Service is great. If possible - get a booking especially for larger groups. Mango and guava juice were very refreshing! My husband and I got a beef and chicken dish and both were delightful.
Easily one of the best Indonesian Rijsttafel I've ever had the pleasure to eat! Everything's so delicious, and the portions for 2 people left us both absolutely stuffed and happy. Aneka Rasa is a nice change compared to most of the tourist-trap food offered in Amsterdam.
And Jerry the owner, is the best host one could ever wish for! He leaves no wish unanswered! He's an absolutely great and charming person, and leaves you looking forward to coming back for the next visit.

Nach unserer Indonesienreise 2022, freuten wir uns heute endlich Mal wieder in den Genusss von indonesischen Speisen zu kommen. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Man konnte dort ein Menü für 2 Personen mit verschiedenen indonesischen Gerichten bestellen (sogar vegetarisch!) Diese kamen in kleinen Portionen, sodass man alles probieren konnte. Auch der Service war klasse und jede kleine Speise wurde uns kurz vorgestellt. Zusätzlich gab es auch noch einen Nachtisch und Tee zum Abschluss. Gefallen hat uns auch, dass es sehr authentisch war! Wir werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen, wenn wir das nächste Mal in Amsterdam sind!

I got the plate rice plate with different type of dishes, eggplant, spicy green beans, spicy beef and chicken and beef satay. It was delicious, tasty and just enough spiciness. The chicken turmeric soup is also tasty. I wish it was a bigger bowl cause it was so good. Highly recommend if you’re craving for Asian food.

Owner greeted us the moment we walked in the door. The atmosphere was pleasant and friendly. The food was most delicious and what we were hoping for in Indonesian cuisine. The cost was very reasonable. We will certainly make this fine restaurant a stop on our next visit to Amsterdam.
Nach dem besten indonesischen Restaurant in Amsterdam gegoogelt und dieses hier ist aufgetaucht. Sehr schönes Ambiente und mega freundlicher Service. Haben mehrfach angerufen, um zu reservieren, aber es ist leider keiner ans Telefon. Als wir dort waren, bekamen wir trotzdem einen Platz, weil sie nachvollziehen konnten, dass wir angerufen hatten. Wir hatten das Menü mit Fleisch. Mega netter Service. Essen kam sehr schnell, war super lecker und wir wurden satt. Zum Schluss bekamen wir noch ein leckeres Eis und Tee serviert. Diese 70 € für zwei Personen haben sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt.

Excellent food and service! Everything was so flavorful and delicious. The vegetable appetizer (picture) was incredible - it was so interesting with many different complex flavors. Also had the venison biryani which was delicious.
Das Essen können wir nicht beurteilen, da wir eineinhalb Stunden gewartet haben bis wir dann gegangen sind. Wir wurden zweimal vertröstet, dass das Essen in fünf Minuten kommt, nach eineinhalb Stunden war es uns zu bunt und sind gegangen.
Sehr leckeres indonesisches Essen. Gute Portionen mit leckeren Beilage. Kann ich jederzeit weiterempfehlen!
Amsterdam has many many good options for ristaffel, and these folks are offering a higher end multi course tasting menu interpretaion (along with optional wine pairings - recommended!), including vegetarian options. 20yrs in place, and still a 'hidden gem', in a quiet area slightly out of main tourist center.
The best meal I have had for the money in a very, very long time; although everything I had was extremely good, perhaps the Seafood Soup was the standout for me.

Food was tasty but cold (vegetarian rames). It took such a long time before our food was served after the dishes were ready and waiting on the counter. Before everything was brought to the table, it stood next to the kitchen for a couple of minutes, then the lady took her time for organising the bowls on a portable stove (rechaud) and placing spoons in them. In the meantime some guests entered the restaurant and she brought them to the tables before bringing our food, so no wonder it was cold before we got it. Very disappointing. If the service was a bit more professional and faster the whole experience would be more pleasant. I’m not coming back here.

We had the smaller rice table medium spicy and it was perfect for my wife and I. The Gado Gado tofu was a standout as well as the corn cookies and pangsit goreng we got as appetizers. Highly recommend for tasty food in a cozy setting. Make sure to book in advance.

Our first experience of Indonesian food so we tried the mini Rice Table. A wide range of dishes, none too spicy, more than we could eat. Very good quality and delightful service.
This recommendation left us satiated by the variety of dishes and portions. We ordered the mixed platter for 3. It included about 20 dishes including rice and noodles. My fave’s were the eggplant, chicken satay, and spicy chicken. The dishes ranged from mild to spicy although the spicy wasn’t that hot.
Una sitio muy bonito, al lado del mercado de las flores, mejor pedir cita tuvimos que esperar un poquito, el servicio es muy rápido pedimos Rijsttafel para 3, con deliciosos tés, el postre no lo pedimos, era demasiada comida, todo delicioso, repetiremos!
Die Reistafel für zwei Personen war hervorragend. Ich habe dies mit meiner Frau (Indonesierin) gegessen. Es wurden verschiedene Gerichte mit Reis serviert. Der Service war trotz Hochbetrieb im Restaurant sehr aufmerksam. Wir waren am Freitag Abend da und da war eine Reservierung dringend erforderlich gewesen.

It’s a small cozy place. We ordered sate rijsttafels (ricetables) for 2 people for dinner and it’s a perfect amount of food for us. Food is yummy so I would recommend to give it a try if you are in the areas.

Every dish was a marvel, bursting with flavors that took us on a culinary journey right to the heart of Indonesia. Incredible meal! We ate here the last night in Amsterdam and this was a great way to end the trip. The cuisine was very creative and beautifully presented. The wine pairings were perfect. Highly recommended!

Comida excelente. Pedí el menú más completo y todo me pareció increíble. El rollito de pescado de entrante con la salsa era espectacular. Los platillos del menú todos muy buenos. Ha sido mi primera experiencia en un restaurante de comida indonesia y lo recomiendo sin dudarlo. No pude terminarme todo por lo que aunque parezcan platos pequeños al final es mucha cantidad, no tuve espacio para el postre.

A highlight of our trip to Amsterdam. We happened to chance upon the restaurant for lunch and I'm glad that we did. The food was excellent, and the service and ambience was fantastic. As a cherry on top, Jerry was extremely kind and remembered our names, which added a personal touch to the experience. Would highly recommend to all that want some delicious food!

Yesterday we had dinner here with mu team. It was a very pleasant experience. The staff was very helpful and friendly. In addition the atmosphere in the restaurant is very cozy. Nice detail is the serving robot that is playing birthday music. Last but not least: the food is amazing tasty and very fresh. Definitely a must go to when you are around. René.

I had the pleasure of eating here last night. The service was the best I’ve had in a long time, the food was delicious and fresh, the sushi presentation was gorgeous and the atmosphere gezellig and classy.
Sehr lecker und super freundlicher Service. Wir fühlten uns gut aufgehoben und gut beraten. Zum ausprobieren der indonesischen Küche bestens geeignet. Reservierung telefonisch möglich und empfohlen, da die Gaststätte nicht sonderlich groß ist.

Tolles, authentisches Essen. Das Personal ist sehr ausfmerksam und freundlich. Eine Reservation ist auf jeden Fall vorteilhaft, da das Lokal sehr gut besucht ist. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.
Sabor increíble, tomamos el menú grande que nos recomendó el camarero súper amable. Dos menús para tres personas y pedimos a parte un extra de arroz. Comimos súper bien.

Sin duda el mejor lugar de Ámsterdam para degustar el risjttafel. El camarero hablaba español y nos hizo mejor la estancia. Muchas gracias.

Das Café Kadijk ist ein ausgezeichnetes indonesisches Restaurant, auch der Service war immer gut. Das rendang Padang schmeckt wie in Indonesien.
Tolles Essen, supernettes Personal, bei dem man sich gut aufgehoben fühlt. Die Reißplatte hat auch für Vegetarier reichlich Auswahl. Die Desserts sind alle Bombe. Preislich auch in einen angemessenen Bereich. Definitiv ein muss für alle die in Amsterdam Urlaub machen. Top💯💯

Perfekt! Essen hervorragend, Einrichtung lässig, Service freundlich, Bier frisch, Musikauswahl vorzüglich.
Entré a pedir mesa para comer dos personas. El restaurante estaba casi vacío con muchas mesas libres. La chica que me atendió me respondió sin mirarme a la cara y con muy mala educación me dijo que no tenía mesa para dos.

Während man die typische Rijsttafel direkt im Zentrum meist zu überteuerten Preisen erhält, kommt man hier, umgeben von Einheimischen, in den Genuss einer solchen zu einem kleinen Preis. Aus der kleinen Karte wählten wir die Indonesische Platte, quasi eine "Teller-Rijsttafel", die nicht nur extrem schmackhaft, sondern auch reichlich war ... und das zu einem mehr als fairen Preis. Eine Getränkekarte wäre noch wünschenswert, damit man nicht erst alles erfragen muss.
Don’t trust the bad reviews- this is an amazing place. We live nearby and have been to Mchi several times already, few times with friends or family who also enjoyed it. One of the best sushi in Ams, also good service.

J'ai adoré goûter au fameux "Rijsttafel", repas indonésien adapté par les Néerlandais. Le tout était copieux et riche en nouvelles saveurs.
The resto sells Indonesian foods and also provide delivery service. Unfortunately it is not a halal restaurant, for it's also selling pork (like babi panggang). In addition to Indonesian meals, they also sell Indonesian snacks and spices.
Cadre contemporain pour ce petit restaurant indonésien très sympa. Nous avons pris le menu à 39€ (rijstaffel/table rice) avec 3 plats (entrée, plat et dessert). Magnifique voyage gustatif, tout était délicieux et les saveurs bien équilibrées. Serveur avenant et agréable, patron chaleureux. Je recommande vivement.
Hatten einen sehr schönen Abend hier. Wir haben die vegetarische Rijsttafel mit zwei Personen genommen. Zum einen waren die Speisen sehr gut, zum anderen ist es glaub ich die günstigste Rijsttafel (19-20€ p. P.) die man in Amsterdam findet. Sowohl von den Portionen als auch von der Qualität hat alles gestimmt. Nebenbei gab es gratis Tap Wasser mit Eiswürfeln.

Les plats sont très bon. Les épices bien dosées. Juste un peu cher, 33 euros pour un plat et une entrée, c'est un peu excessif. J'aurais rajouté trois dessert au choix ( chocolat, fruit et un dessert typique ) pour le même prix, ou sinon baisser de quelques euros le prix du menu. ( Bon je comprends aussi le contexte, centre ville d'Amsterdam, le loyer doit être énorme ... ) Bonne continuation à vous, merci encore aux cuisiniers.

Die Speisenauswahl ist nicht extrem groß aber die indonesischen Spezialitäten waren sehr lecker. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und macht ein paar organisatorische Mängel wett.
Essen war insgesamt sehr lecker. Und mehr als reichlich. Bei der Portion für 2 werden auch 3 satt. Die Preise sind jedoch auch ziemlich teuer. Und leider wird, weil es so viel zu essen gibt, dass Essen kalt, wenn man nicht schnell genug ist.

Gemütliches Restaurant. Personal sehr freundlich. Essen für unseren Geschmack etwas zu scharf. Eben typisch indonesisch. Preise für Amsterdam normal. Gericht pro Person 20,- €. Persönlich fand ich es für ein Gericht doch preislich etwas übertrieben.

Restaurant vraiment divin quand on aime les saveurs thaïlandaises et indonésiennes. Le menu dégustation à 39€ par personne est parfait pour découvrir un assortiment de tous leurs plats. En entrée, une délicieuse salade de bœuf chaud en lamelles sur un lit de légumes croquants avec une sauce au saté. Les multiples assortiments sont le plat de résistance. Ils sont tous plus gouteux les uns que les autres. On vous propose même de vous resservir des portions de ceux que vous avez préféré. Le dessert mélange glace à la mangue, glace au coco, pain d'épices et gâteau au chocolat. Parfait pour clore un repas savoureux. Restaurant vraiment à recommander si vous êtes sur Amsterdam. Pensez à réserver !
Die Satay Spieße sind ausgezeichnet. Sowohl die Hühnerspieße als auch jene mit Tofu. Ausserdem sehr nette Bedienung.
Kleines Lokal mit sehr leckerem indonesischen Essen. Auch die offenen Weine sind überraschend gut.
