This is an amazing museum to visit. The place has so many halls and attractions. I was thrilled to see a huge collection of paintings, glasswork, cutlery sets, furniture and many more areas in the museum which showcases the vast culture of various parts of the world.
The place where they have recreated the Egyptian Culture is totally amazing. It almost brings you back to the era of Egyptian civilization. This is a must go place for everyone whether you are in college, school or a working professional.

Beautiful museum. NY residents can enter for free with an option to give a donation. They have an extensive collection and they are always having special exhibits when certain things are on rotation for viewing. I love the Egyptian room, the Chinese tea garden, the European armory, the Japanese swords. You can take great photos in the museums and it’s really beautiful. Outside the museum people are sitting on the steps and there’s someone playing an instrument. There’s also a museum shop full of things to buy.

Beautiful museum! So much to learn about! Amazing to see part of these 5000 years of global history and art regrouped in a single place.
I loved the Greek & Roman Art, and I was specially moved by the "Artists of the Holocaust" exhibition (April - Sept 2023). One can also learn more about the American art (American Wing). All the exhibitions are tempting, and one day is certainly not enough to visit it all fully!
Besides the exhibitions, the Museum itself is beautiful, spacious, clean & the staff is more than friendly to share recommendations and tips.

This is really a cool look into the spy world I would say it’s age appropriate for 4 years old and up. Guns and weapons are on display but not in a way that would be glorifying weapons. Overall very cool experience I would give your group 2 hours approximately to have enough time to view most of the areas thoroughly.
Very cool stop around the museum row in Washington DC. The security isn't clear though, they just shout at you and point. Made for a lot of confusion upon entry.
They have a food court that features some authentic-ish Indigenous foods. The gift shop here is also very good. Our fav is the chocolate bars they sell.
The museum itself is a cool design and unique. Give yourself an hour to an hour and a half and you'll see what you need to. If you're eating, add another 30 minutes.

Loved visiting the museum. So interesting and beautiful. From Early American to Modern and current exhibition is awesome. Great place to visit and enjoy a bite to eat in or out in the garden. Everyone is courteous and helpful. Plan to become a member to lend ongoing support for the arts. ❤️
Awesome experience. Great for kids of all ages, lots of interactive games and experiences throughout the entire museum. It will take several hours to make your way through, so little kids might not make it.
What a great place to visit, especially with the kids. Lots of exciting and cool information along with tons of interactive exhibits. There's even an overarching "quest" to accomplish as you go through the various parts of the museum. Museum store has lots of interesting books, fun shirts, and toys and things for the kids. Overall a fun way to spend the afternoon. Takes 2-4 hours to go through and experience everything.
Stopped by about 1.5 hrs before closing. If I knew the top floor had such neat design I would've started from the top and worked my way down! I really enjoyed all the landscape paintings.
Most disappointing of the Smithsonians. Not much of the culture. Not all tribes are even represented. Glad we went but almost angry of how little there is in this museum when it is a Smithsonian! Many other native American museum are better.
Love love love. This museum has the most comprehensive collections of the ancient artworks in the US. A must go if you’re an ancient culture lover. Best tips are to get tickets online ahead of time to skip the waiting line, enter at its opening and leave until it closes. It’s a full day museum. There’s no way you can complete a tour in a few hours. So better bring a phone bank if your phone does not last a full day. So many pictures you’d want to take.
A nice museum with a cool shop! African exhibition is wonderful and they play African music in the lobby which is really immersive! Enjoyed it!
