在紐約甚或世上必訪的博物館中，現代藝術博物館在場館建築和館藏兩個面向的比例中應是99.9%的館藏0.1%的建築，和北京故宮與羅浮宮算是平衡不同，和同在紐約的Guggenheim更是鮮明的對比，走路經過MoMA位於第五和第六大道之間的53街的現址一不注意可能還會錯過，門面看來真和midtwown的其他樓宇似無特異。
MoMA的館藏非以數量聞名而較是niche走向，路線非常特定且明確。館藏主以年份區間區分，和The Met以文化區塊區分不同，最早的年份上溯至18-19世紀(不禁讓我好奇”modern art”也包括印象派或Modigliani的作品？)。而就收藏品而言作為當代藝術的首屈一指的house MoMA的東西或也毋須多作評論，參觀MoMA和The Met一樣，基本上就是能多留一些時間就多留，能多看就多看，畢竟看到腳痠心累也看不完。
特別提一下廣受歡迎的MoMA design store (店名中特別加了”design”一字和博物館的路線精神非常貼切)，本館共有兩間，一間不用買票入館就一間則是在館內，不用買票入館的store的人潮數量是館內的數倍，熱門時段排隊結帳所須時間可能半小時起跳，建議博物館參觀者在館內商店購買。

從近代到當代藝術的藝術館藏，非常有意思非常豐富。有幾個展間正在重新設展，但依然有相當非常棒的作品正在展出中。記得多預留一點時間給樓上的作品，非常值得。館內冷氣偏冷，怕冷的記得穿上外套！
