The house was nice, clean and cozy. The view from the living room, downstairs bedroom and deck were amazing, if the sky is clear, sunrise is worth waking up early for. This house felt like home away from home, so serene. My parents and my dog (aslan) loved it, we enjoyed every minute we stayed here. Since we came late in the season, we missed out on a lot of sights and hikes. Hoping to be back again.
Beautiful
The house at schroon lake was beautiful. It was everything that we wanted and more. It had all of the amenities that we needed including pots and pans for cooking and wifi and streaming apps to enjoy. It was quiet with a beautiful view of the lake. We would definitely stay here again!
Amazing venue! We had our "annual girls weekend" and the place was perfect! Hot tub, fire pit, enough beds/bedrooms, bathrooms and the kitchen was top notch amazing! Game room was a nice plus - we really enjoyed the entire home! We'll be back next October!
We only had 4 adults staying at the house and it was almost too big. So much space. It was nicely decorated and felt homey. Everything was in working order and the neighbors dogs were cute and friendly. This would be a great place for a family or group of friends. We were close enough to many wineries, restaurants, and out door things to do. We also enjoyed watching the deer out back every evening.
The absolute worst company I've ever had to deal with. They made what was supposed to be a fun trip for my mom's birthday into the vacation from hell. I'll be reporting to the New York licensing board and pursuing further action against them. We got to our rental and there was a boil water advisory note on the table. Surprise to us since no one informed us of this. I called Vacasa who said they'd look into it and I heard nothing so I called the New York department of health the following afternoon and they were still doing water testing and instructed me to continue with the boil water advisory to be cautious. So imagine my surprise when I get a call from vacasa not long after saying there's no boil water advisory, because they "hadn't heard of one," so obviously that means it didn't happen. Instead of them looking into it, they just assumed no. I told them that their info contradicts what I was told by the NY Dept of health and asked for proof of how they came up with that answer / who they got that answer from: shocker, they still have yet to answer even that. I was told they'd try to get us water, yet it never happened. We burned through bottled water we brought to drink that we we had to use for everything else basically. I'm immunocompromised, and I told them this, and they didn't care. No one helped us. I called VRBO since that's the platform we rented from and they just directed me to vacasa, so awesome. Totally useless. I had no idea the rental we booked was managed by vacasa. And of course every time I reach out to vacasa I'm getting told the same thing "our local management team will get back to you" "someone you will reach out when we have an answer," well nobody has an answer to anything, nobody reaches out to actually help with anything. I asked them for a partial refund because of all this crap and still no answer. Their management company if you've ever rented an apartment from a crap landlord imagine that,bbut worse because you're supposed to be on vacation away from all that. When you text their system, or call them, you're talking to multiple different people, there is so much miscommunication and misinformation and you're repeating the same thing over and over again just to get absolutely nowhere. We're leaving tomorrow and no one has helped us with a thing or even given us an answer about a refund. I will never ever ever book with them again. You could not pay me to ever rent through Vacasa. They don't deserve to have a license to operate.

8/28 update: We've been home a week and a half now, I finally heard from VRBO yesterday via email for the first time since we left NY and they offered a pathetic $50 refund, claiming I didn't provide them with enough proof for an actual refund, even though I gave them EVERYTHING they asked for: a photo of the notice that was on the table when we arrived, the name of the person at the department of Health that I spoke with, screenshots of my calls to the department of Health, and yet none of that was enough proof. I literally don't know what else they want from me I have given them everything they've asked for and everything I have and unlike them, I'm not going to lie. VRBO claims to have a book with us guarantee and they violated even their own policies and don't care. I never heard from Vacasa, no surprise there.
The place is amazing, the view from the deck is beautiful at night, it's quiet and well kept. Fresh ground coffee was a +. Town is close with nice food places. Many wineries to choose from. We loved atwater vineyards. Would definitely go back.
Amazing. Definitely STAY HERE. So clean, so well maintained, just beautiful. Hosts left shampoo, hand towels, a phone charger next to bed. Extra garbage bags, extra paper towels. This was 5 miles from the Switzerland Inn. Amazing
We had an absolutely amazing quiet and lovely vacation here. The house is just a few minutes from the quaint downtown, 30 to lake George. The house sits on the lake. My children loved every bit of it. We were minutes from many attractions, restaurants and grocery. Highly recommend and even a small hiccup was resolved instantly. A+
