Lovely historic house museum linking period residence with the University of Texas and Presbyterian school. It features antique furniture and so many books. The porches and gardens are a lovely compliment to the shady rooms inside.

great tour. Learned so very much. Always amazing when you find these hidden gems right in your back yard.

What an amzing story. I love all the history!
Incredible museum. This was so well done and captured the history and the culture so well, very immersive experience. There is so much information I recommend either a full day or going for a few hours two days in a row to truly absorb it all. It was very crowded, but people were polite so easy to navigate through. You need to get tickets in advance - they book fast so make sure to secure your tickets weeks ahead of time.
The visit to this historic museum was very emotional yet amazing to discover more about the history of the slave trade. Well designed. I cried a few times. I could get through the full exhibit and I will be going back. Must visit. Thank God we’re free now.
I cannot say enough about how moving this museum was. The detail was overwhelming. My students said this was the best Smithsonian we visited and I agree. It is a story of triumph in the face of inhumanity. It is a MUST visit. Sweet Home Cafe serves amazing food. Well worth eating there.
This is a massive museum giving most of us African Americans our history that has been lost leaving us left with a void in our lives. Very emotional walking in learning that we come from rich, vast, and intelligent civilizations. If you go you must start early or plan to go a few days at a time because you won't be able to cover it all in one day. I absolutely loved every minute of it.
