Heading for Petra, we wanted to have the Jordanian national dish called "Mansaf." I did a Google search before, and it seemed to be a tasty and colorful dish. My chauffeur found this restaurant over a couple of phone calls while he was driving. We settled in for late lunch.
However, what we got was completely different from what I pictured in mind. I could smell meat, and the taste was bland, to put it mildly, nothing like I expected. It's a big piece of tasteless meat over a mountain of cooked white rice. There is no way it should cost us US $20 per person. To be fair, it was my first Mansaf. Setting aside the rip-off price, I have no reference to compare it other than descriptions and images that I found on Google.
If it ended there, I wouldn't have taken my time to complain about this not-so-memorable restaurant experience. Before we got our bill, the owner approached me asking whether I would pay US $20 extra for my chauffeur's bill, too. I refused. My chauffeur sat at a separate table and had the same dish on his own. It's obvious to me that our bill includes his since he brought us in. He gets a free lunch.
Besides, my chauffeur told me the previous day that he would never let his passengers pay for his meal at the restaurant because they have different prices for foreigners in Jordan. That is, if he pays for the same dish by himself as a Jordanian, it could be $5 instead of $20.
The restaurant owner should stop conning foreign visitors and spend more time and energy to improve his chef's cooking skills, particularly for Mansaf, the Jordanian national dish.

Tasty food and nice service. Place where you can try Camel meat. Delicious pizza with real pepperoni.
Pretty quiet but maybe we were there at the wrong time of day/year and probably caters to the season Al tourist crowd as it's really close to Petra entrance. Was drawn in by the big picture of a camel outside and, as I have never tried camel, the camel-based items on the menu. I tried the camel burger because I was starving after hiking 30,000 steps around the mountains of Petra and needed all the camel calories I could consume, and also I don't really eat meat unless it's a local delicacy while travelling and have been craving a burger for about 8 months. Turns out Camel tastes like a beautiful combo of beef and lamb and is excellent in a burger. The party was good and chunky, the bun was sturdy, the fries were good, and came with surprise olives (we love). Really friendly service, and handy location for Petra. Also cats. This is the most times I've said "camel" in a review.
We ordered chicken sawani and lamb gallayah. They were delicious. Their service is great too.
Skvelá príjemná reštaurácia, ktorú sme navštívili očas našej cesty po Jordánsku. Skvelé špeciality z ťavieho mäsa. Určite odporúčam návštevu.
Ich hatte Glück und ich sah dass es heute einen Kamelburger im Angebot gab. Da gab es nichts zu überlegen und ab ins Restaurant. Der Burger kam, sah sehr lecker aus...Aber...Nichts aber, das Kamel schmeckt. Würde ich wieder bestellen. Vielen lieben Dank für die Erfahrung
Sehr herzliche Begrüßung, das Essen war sehr zu empfehlen. Mansaf hat ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Einen Gruß aus der Küche, einen saftigen Kokoskuchen, wurde uns zum Abschluß gereicht. Wir fanden es sehr angenehm und sind am nächten Tag erneut zum Essen dorthin gegangen. Vielen Dank für die herzliche Gastfreundschaft.
