کافه گو

I recently visited Cafe Goo in Kyoto, as marked on Google Maps, and I must say it was an incredibly disappointing experience. The cafe, manned by three elderly ladies, had the worst service I've encountered in Japan.

Despite being a patron of various coffee shops in Tokyo and Osaka, where the staff were unfailingly friendly, this was my first encounter with such appalling service in Japan. My wife and I ordered two iced Americanos priced at 550 yen each, not exactly cheap, only to be met with disdainful glares from the trio of elderly ladies throughout our brief stay.

I couldn't help but wonder if their unwelcoming attitude was due to my blonde hair and foreign appearance. Interestingly, the Japanese patrons in the same establishment were treated with utmost courtesy. Discrimination, as far as I know, is not condoned in the US, and it's disheartening to experience it elsewhere.

While my overall experience traveling in Japan has been positive, this particular cafe stands out for all the wrong reasons. It's evident they harbor biases against Western appearances, and I feel compelled to leave a negative review to alert others to their discriminatory behavior.

なんとも無愛想なおばさん達。サンドイッチもこれで７００円、アイスコーヒー４５０円。
ゆっくり朝食を楽しむならここは絶対オススメしない。すぐ近くのコメダにすれば良かった。
あと、現金オンリーなので利用の方はご注意を。

Cute cafe! Nice service, foreigner friendly and the fluffy pancake is a must have! Matcha latte was good too!

少し香が弱かったりかなとは思いましたが美味しかったです
チーズトーストは焼き加減が好みで美味しくいただきました
接客は最小限でした

駅付近の喫茶店
店員様が外人観光客にしっかりと通じる英語で接客していたのは凄い
