I am writing this review to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the utterly unacceptable level of care provided by the University of Maryland Medical System, specifically the Upper Chesapeake and Harford Primary Care practices.
My experience has been nothing short of disastrous. After my original physician abruptly left the practice, I was assigned a new doctor. Initially, things seemed manageable. This physician implemented a convenient system of year-long refills with 6-month requests, streamlining the process. However, this supposed convenience has proven to be a complete illusion.
Today, at the end of the initial 6-month period, I find myself unable to obtain my necessary medication. The reason? The very doctor who established this system has also departed the practice. Now, due to the recent merger of Harford and Upper Chesapeake, the practice refuses to issue my refills without a new patient establishment appointment, which carries a staggering one-month wait time.
This situation is utterly unacceptable and demonstrates a profound disregard for patient health and well-being. While my medication may not be "life-threatening," the anxiety and inconvenience caused by this system failure are significant. I can only imagine the immense harm this organization has inflicted on countless patients due to its systemic failures.
This practice's refusal to ensure timely and uninterrupted access to prescribed medication should be considered a serious breach of patient care and potentially illegal. I urge the appropriate authorities to investigate this matter and hold the University of Maryland Medical System accountable for its negligence.

Referred here by a friend, called to make an appointment, got through after a few tries, then abruptly told they don’t accept new patients and the line went dead. Guess we will keep looking…

Dr. Martello has been an excellent replacement for Dr. Ishaq. She was always taken care of mine and my wife’s needs and has been available for office visits when we needed them right away. Very sorry to see her leaving.

I haven’t been to the doctor since In about 10 years. Recently decided to get back in the groove and go. I called this office not knowing anything about how to set it up or what to expect and they handled my case perfectly. I was put with Dr. Ali, she is very nice and knowledgeable and made my trip quick and easy. She addressed all of my concerns and made sure I was in good shape to carry on. She is very responsive, helpful and makes you feel like the center of attention. I got some tests done by the awesome staff at Upper Chesapeake and I walked out with much more knowledge than when I walked in. Definitely recommend this office and especially Dr Ali. Will definitely be coming here for now on.
