Visiting Hamburg, my friends took us out for an authentic German meal. I had the schnitzel and alsterwasser. For dessert, I tried the pancake with cinnamon, sugar and apples. It was all delicious!

While the food itself was OK and tasty; and the waiters were friendly and tried their best; the overall experience was not pleasant at all. First, the place was overcrowded as they seem to accept more patrons than they can handle. As a result, the food wait time was almost 1.5 hours. Second, they don't divide the outside area into smoking and non-smoking. So you are surrounded by ignorant bigots who smoke like a chimney and don't care about your secondhand smoke problem.

Food is not bad and prices reasonable. I ordered fried herring and fried potatoes. Fish was nice and fresh, but whole dish was a bit too grease. The staff was polite.

Beautiful place! I was so excited to try the local "hamburger cuisine" and this restaurant had it all! I really appreciated the kindness and hospitality of the waitresses, food was good (even if a little strange but it's the traditional German food that is not very common for us). I'll definitely recommend it. As for the price: we were four people and we payed 80-85 euros total. Portions are huge so don't order too much otherwise you won't be able to finish all the dishes. If you have allergies make sure to take the German menu cause they have all written down (gluten, lactose, ecc.)

Wonderful Hamburg haunt featuring very traditional menu and decor. To start we ordered soups, for our mains my partner ordered a ”labskus“ and although I’m not familiar with it he assured me it was quite good. I had the turkey which was lovely and the dessert of red berries and vanilla ice cream was an excellent way to finish a great meal.

This is a good place to go for local cuisine specific to Northern Germany. It has a large menu, and all the guests of my party enjoyed their meals (and left very full). The interior is like very cozy, like your own living room, and the staff was extremely nice (also with good English). Yet, the food came out quite slow, which isn’t necessarily bad, just make sure you have 1.5-2 hours if you want a full appetizer/main/dessert (at least on a Friday night.
