This embassy is an absolute joke, we applied for visas for my family so they can join us for our wedding in Chile. It’s been 3 months since we applied and still no luck, my wedding is only 2 weeks away and none of my family would be able to join because of the incompetence of this embassy and Chilean consulate. If you think indian govt departments are bad, Chileans are pretty much the same if not worse

Hello readers, I haven given 4 star rating for the following reasons:

1) The staff is good and helpful
2) They don’t have any landline number to speak to a live person. So all the inquiries are made via email only. When you send email, they will respond you maximum 2 times then they will stop replying you on email as well.
3) If your email is not responded then the only option where you can clear your questions/doubts is via a friend/person who had experience with the embassy. Luckily I happened to have direct contact of the person who is responsible for the visas.
4) After submission of documents (sometimes they don’t receive documents at all, they get satisfied with the documents we had uploaded on their website), it takes 24 hours for the visa to be stamped on the passport. Although their website says 48 hours. They will give you a challan you’ll have to deposit visa fees in the nearby Kotak Mahindra bank which is just 100 yards away.
5) The security is very strict out there. The guard allows only one person at a time inside the embassy rest will have to wait outside until the guard calls.
6) I didn’t have any issues apart from this and had a good experience with them. The passport was ready within 24 hours and all went well.
