If you want quintessential british afternoon tea experience, this place is a must.

I'm sure there are many wonderful places to have afternoon tea, but this place exceeded our American expectations. It was our first afternoon tea experience, and we were a bit concerned we'd scream "country come to town." But the staff made us feel comfortable and at ease even before we set foot inside. The doorman kindly took our photo outside, no fewer than 5 people greeted us as we entered the lobby, and then everyone inside the tea room waited on us hand and foot. They was incredibly attentive and friendly. The food and beverages also were delicious (the chicken curry salad and scones were my favorite), but the best part was getting to see our teenage children enjoy an absolutely delightful experience all the way around.

I feel for those who are critical of this place - perhaps they were having a bad day?
