9It's a wonderful place, I paid 21 pounds for two people. You have to get the tickets from their official website so you don't pay more than you do and it's very easy to get there by public transport. It's worth it with public transport because it's cheaper and you only have so much time. It's a magical place, it's perfect for the family, with or without children. You can also come alone. Please come, it's worth it. Arm yourself with a lot of patience and prepare yourself because it is huge. To visit almost all of them, it took 4 hours and that was not all. You can find food and water everywhere. You can also bring your water and food, no one tells you anything.

The zoo is really large, so you’ll need a lot of time to explore it! Also prepare to climb the hill to get to the top - make sure you read the geological info around.

I was pretty disappointed by this zoo though. I like visiting zoos when I travel but this was the first time I’d really felt the ‘captivity’ element so acutely. Enclosures were quite small (the Sumatran tiger and leopard surprised me) and a large number were just dirt with animals in them. The tigers slept on concrete and the leopard enclosure had almost no vegetation - as shown in the photos.

Some animals looked stressed - a lot of pacing in enclosures, and some that looked sickly.

Also the other visitors left much to be desired - people banging on the glass next to sleeping tigers to try to get a photo, people ignoring ‘no dogs allowed’ signs in enclosures, even saw some people pushing their dogs past barriers to try and get closer to animals so they could get a picture of their dog with some kind of wild animal? And not a sign or zookeeper in sight to discourage it.

Maybe I just went on a bad day, but this zoo felt quite poorly managed and I just didn’t see any life to these animals in a way you would in other zoos.

They do seem to be making an effort to renovate but this review is based on what I could see today. Also I’m no animal expert - I’m sure the enclosures are adequate for the animals. It just doesn’t stack up to what I’ve seen elsewhere and feels like minimum care.

Overall, I’d skip this attraction.

We personally loved Prague Zoo. Had more animals to see than our zoo in the UK and the area is such a wonderful place. Very clean and you can see the animals are well looked after. You get a real close up too of them. My fav was the polar bear and lions. I would of wanted to spend the whole day there but managed to fit in a few hours. Not expensive at all to get in and lots of food restaurants in there and toilet facilities.

On the last day of our trip, we had a good few hours to wait until we departed back home. We were so happy we decided to come here. This zoo is exceptional and not expensive for entry at all. Cost us for 2 adults about £24.00. It has so many animals to see that are all well looked after. There are points that you feel emersed as the animals are so close. Tiger for me was a wow moment as it was just glass between us. The food and drink here are also really good value and plentiful. Of course, there's lots of history in prague, but if you get a spare bit of time, I would highly recommend a visit here.

The best zoo in the world. We spent 5 hours at the zoo and still didn't see everything, so expect to do a lot of walking (around 10km). We took a taxi however public transport links seem reasonably easy to use. The enclosures in the zoo are very spacious and all of the animals looked very well cared for. Our highlight was the polar bear.

Very cute zoo, extremely diverse in species. I saw animals that I have never seen before which was awesome (and I have travelled the world). Expect alot of walking and it up and down hills.
I was pleasantly surprised on the cleanliness on the bathrooms, previously, I have found zoo restrooms not to be very clean but these were.

Very spread out and lots to see. Quite a few cafes and toilets. Well kept zoo. Easy to access by underground and then bus. Excellent value for us as over 70s it cost 1 CK each. Our family said it was half the cost of an English zoo visit at least.
