Sasaya is without doubt my favourite restaurant in Berlin. There are few places in this city, or anywhere else I've visited, that provide the level of quality and atmosphere so consistently. Run by a couple from Kokkaido, Japan - the restaurant has a familiar family-run vibe but at an exception level of quality. The food spectrum covers Japanese food generally, from Sushi with daily fish recommendations to delightful warm dishes, like fried soft-shell crab. The prices are moderate, and atmosphere is less formal and not stuffy, so it's a perfect place for a date or gathering of friends, or friendly business dinner. They also have a great range of sake and desserts.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Berlin. Impeccable food and service. The atmosphere is always warm and friendly and I never had problems with booking a table there despite what other reviews say. You do need to book it though, that’s true. Every time I go food is always a top notch. Lunch options, soba, nigiri, rolls, special menu dishes never disappoint. Great choice of sake too. Sasaya is like a little corner of Japan in the heart of Prenzlauerberg.

Amazing Japanese food, with friendly staffs and authentic cuisine. Especially the Sushi, special roll (we ordered Rainbow Roll). Their appetizer and dessert also good! Nice to try everything. However the potion is not big though. So prepare to order 2 appetizer, 1 main course and 1 dessert for one person 😝but you won’t regret it! They are all delicious
