The cohort and the process helped me get from thoughts that I had in my head for years to actually beginning to write a book. It also helped me to embrace myself as an author and a real writer, as opposed to just someone who has a desire to write a book. This experience has shaped my thinking and has helped me think differently. Taneki made sure to impress upon us who we were writing to. Thinking about who would be impacted by what I am writing really encouraged me to continue. Also, Taneki had clear and informative modules that helped us to learn about books, the book genres, and the components of a book. It is so easy to say that I want to write something, but to receive knowledge, wisdom, insight, and support has been transformative for me and the book that I am writing.
