Dreaded trying to see GP after feeling unwell all weekend but, while it was difficult to get through, once I was the staff were brilliant. The receptionist who took my details was lovely and the GP phoned me straight back. I was told to come in immediately and was seen straightaway. Seamless, caring service.

I am fortunate enough not to need a doctors very often, and on the very rare occasion it's fair to say I've had limited success in getting seen.

When I do, the staff and docs are great. But the process for getting to see a doctor here is ever changing, and feel everyone should know about the latest change.

I phoned this morning, bang on 8:30am, 3rd in the queue "great" I thought. after 15mins I was at the front of the queue - thought it took a while, but trusting the process I stayed on for a further 15 minutes. After 30 minutes, my call was answered. The lady on the phone was pleasant, but informed me that all appointments were gone for the day. Bemused, I asked how this was possible as I was 3rd in the queue at 8:30am...

I was informed that people now queue outside from 8am to get an appointment, and all people phoning have to compete with them.

So today for example, if I was 3rd in the queue, a max of 2 people on the phone got appointments today!

THIS SERVICE IS NO GOOD FOR PEOPLE WHO WORK!!

Last time I needed an appointment, the surgery offered a very good phone back service. You called, gave details and received a call back from a doctor to triage/discuss. This was efficient.

Giving 100% appointment, or very close to it, to those who turn up at the door is a system really lacking any deep thought. People need to see doctors or at least speak to them around their work schedule.

I called at 14:30 to confirm what the procedure is for tomorrow to see a doctor, answer phone telling me the surgery is closed until tomorrow!!

Dundonald Medical Centre - Please review your appointment process. I understand there are difficulties, but everyone deserves a chance to be seen!

Been with the surgery for years and it's getting worse. On call from 8.30 to get through at 9.15 for them to say only urgent emergency calls. I had to go private and pay as daughter struggling with chest infection more than 10 days. Not good when I pay taxes and still have to pay private. They need to change the procedure of ringing through when we cant even get to speak to a doctor. SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE.
