The carpet that we bought at biddarugs, is far more than just a carpet. We went there on my birthday, just to say hi and to see some carpets, thinking that we would go the next day and then make the purchase. 4 hours later, 2 rounds of tea and 1 amazing chat and we still didn’t have our carpet. We can’t believe that when we made the decision of not leaving Marrakesh without a carpet, it would mean having the perfect trip! Moussa told me “if you cancel the restaurant I guarantee you will have the best birthday party!”. That’s what I did and I don’t regret it for a bit! There is no shop like biddarugs, purely because Moussa won’t sell you just a carpet, but a carpet full of history and the best Marrakesh experience! We ended up meeting Moussa every single day, at the store or for diner. If you have met Moussa, you know what I mean - he is the guy! Now we have a bit of Moussa and Marrakesh in our living room.

We stayed at the Riad l’atelier for the weekend and this is where we got the recommendation after asking for a good carpet place. We got introduced to Moussa, which is the owner of the shop. Moussa is a really nice guy and he took care of us super well. We first visited his shop and we then took a walk around the whole of Medina while seeing every interesting place and hearing many stories about Marrakesh as well as his family owned business. We went together for lunch and he also helped us in getting the best deals in the souks market. I can highly recommend visiting his shop not just because his carpets are amazing and the shop is so nice, but also because Moussa is a fantastic and super friendly person that can help you with everything you need in Marrakesh! We bought one beautiful carpet, 2 beautiful poufs and we got gifted 2 nice pillows saying ‘Habibi’ and ‘friendship’ which truly defines the time we had with Moussa and we will for sure keep in touch, because we will be coming back very soon to Marrakesh!!
