We didn't enter the museum, but just the inner courtyard, where we had great coffee with a view of an awesome huge artwork.

Palazzo Strozzi has grandiose identical portals facing Via Tornabuoni and Piazza Strozzi.

Palazzo Strozzi is an ideal representation of the Italian Renaissance building. The Palace has rectangular windows on the ground floor . On the upper floors you will see mullioned windows, a type of rectangular windows divided by a small column on which two arches rest. The house belonged to the Strozzi until 1937 when it was bought by the National Insurance Institute and later sold to the state around 1999.

Today, the Palazzo hosts many interesting exhibitions.

The Strozzi family was one of the oldest and most powerful families. The members of the family were mostly politicians and some military leaders. Due to the opposition to the Medici, the Strozzi family was expelled from Florence in 1434, but the family was able to return to the city in 1466.

Visited the Anish Kapoor exhibition. While some of his ideas and methods are quite interesting, I just don’t „get“ most of his ideas and philosophy behind his artworks. Also visitors are supposed to wandern around some of the artworks but in this museum you cannot which is a pity.

Even though it's nestled in the heart of Florence's historic center, Palazzo Strozzi could be considered a hidden gem, often overshadowed by the classical Renaissance galleries. The museum hosts periodic exhibitions of contemporary and modern art. During our visit, we were enthralled by the "Beyond the Stars" collection, which was truly spectacular. The collection featured paintings, sculptures, installations, collages, and even digital media artworks, all thoughtfully displayed in the spacious rooms of the palace. If you're a fan of contemporary art or seeking an alternative gallery experience, Palazzo Strozzi is a must-visit. An added bonus: there are no endless queues at the entrance.
