MUST GO IF YOU VISIT AMSTERDAM! Prices are not expensive, you get giant portion and a welcoming environment. Food is super high quality. When I come back to Amsterdam I’m definitely eating here again 10/10.

Spang Makandra offers a delightful lunch experience, especially when visited during off-peak hours. The restaurant wasn't too crowded, allowing for a relaxed and comfortable dining environment. We observed a friendly staff at a nearby table, packing chili packets while sharing stories about their hometown in Indonesia, adding some warmth and authenticity.

The highlight of the meal was the Roti Kip, which stood out for its rich blend of spices and amazing flavor. Another notable dish was the Teloh Bakalaw, featuring deep-fried, sizable chunks of tapioca paired with dried salted cod. Despite the name suggesting a salty profile, the dish had an unexpected sweetness, which was a surprise.
Prices at Spang Makandra are reasonable, and the portions are generous, making it a great value for money. Overall, it's a satisfying place for a flavorful and culturally rich dining experience.
