A perfect introduction to the history of Spain. Undeniably, you need a few days to review the museum's collection. You could also purchase various literature and books from the gift shop. I did for my coffee table----images of the cathedrals and Egypt's history. Further, you have a choice in taking selected tours either in English or Spanish. Love this extravagant museum with so much history!
One of the top places to visit in Madrid , great collection and a very interesting info films and animations for extra info , don't forget to download the audio app at the entrance. This is how an archaeological must look like 👍

I've done museums in my life, and good ones at that, but this one is clearly in the top.
It's got a good amount of art, and most importantly in today's day and age : it makes an effort to be appealing to all. It's got videos, pieces you can touch, a free audio guide on you phone.
It's a place you can enjoy alone, or with children, or with grandparents, or with a date. The building itself is great too, which doesn't spoil anything

3 euro entry
Lockers for backpacks are needed. 1 euro
Kid friendly.
Great access for all.
Lifts and toilets are all accessible.
You will need many hours to see all the Exhibitions across all floors.
No rush to look around, it gets busy. It is however very large so plenty of space for all.
Access via underground or buses. It all depends on where you are based.
Just a short walk from all.

REALLY GOOD!
For €4 entry, this was one of the better museums in Madrid.
Lots of interesting exhibits, statues, ancient artefacts and mosaics ... very interesting if you like that sort of thing.
If you have spare time, I recommend visiting this museum.

Beautiful place to.visit while in Madrid, cheap 4 euro all payment methods accepted . The place has real mummies. Do not miss them. 1 euro for locker storage. The surroundings are beautiful as well
Well worth the 3 euros entrance fee. Nicely laid out but far too much reading. Listed in English and Spanish. I would highly recommend an hour or 2 there. Start at the top and work your way down.
