This is the most famous attraction in Brazil. You don’t need to buy tickets in advance and it’s best to take the vans up and down. The tram is cool but overcrowded and the line takes a long time, especially going back down. You can ask the nun or father at the bottom of the statue for a blessing. We went on a day when it was 100 degrees Fahrenheit and lots of sun for visibility. Bring sunscreen and lots of water. Especially for the trip up and down there is ZERO air conditioning in the tram packed full of people. I recommend 2 water bottles per person and insulate them to stay cold inside a back pack if you can. It’s better to go on a week day and early for less crowds
