City Line — buy "ticket" at machine : 40 BHT. No ticket : you'll get a coin to badge in, then to give back when go out. English language available — very easy to buy. Insert coin or bill up to 100 BHT (Card works as well).
Best Option to get to Phaya Thai station from Airport. At only 45baht, it takes about 51mins. My return trip took me 30mins.
Comparing to Grab, which I had to wait for 13mins for the car to arrive at the pickup point and helplessly hoping that the driver won't cancel the booking, the Rail train is more deterministic and assuring.
Follow directions to B1 and when you will see the Mango stall on the left side and Money changer on the right, you will see the Travelator to the Entrance/Exit of the Station. You can buy tickets at the human manned counter next to the Entrance/Exit. 45 baht to the last station (Phaya Thai). You will be given a round black token to scan at the Entrance/Exit gate.
After the Entrance/Exit gate, go downstairs to the station. Any escalator, stairs or lift will do to get you downstairs. When the train arrives, do wait for all to depart and for security to do a sweep through all cabins. Doors will close during the sweep. When doors reopen, you can enter the train.
Have a good, comfortable, clean and cooling train ride!

35 THB or about 1 USD for a direct train to the city which also skips all the traffic. Was plenty of room around 14:00 but you might have to stand. I was told I should take a taxi if I had a bunch of luggage but I had no issues with two suitcases and a backpack. Costed nothing extra for it either.
lack of seating bench for people to rest and power charging points but plenty of luxury goods on sale. maybe this is a shopping mall.
Got this train from Airport to Phaya thai (last station) for 45 Baht. Loved the journey. Best mode of transport to get from airport to city centre. It avoids all the traffic and chaos in the city.
