No cost involved... not a lot of non-café seating.
I realize this a common Italian thing.. but c'mon.. old people want to visit your epic historical spots too... and we can't just be buying coffee every ten minutes.

Now it is a centre of education, being the main house of the Scuola Normale di Pisa, a higher learning institution part of the University."

Just 10 minutes from the TOWER, the buildings and architecture is amazing,The square is surrounded by several important buildings, including the Palace of the Knights of Malta, the church of Santo Stefano dei Cavalieri, and the Palazzo della Carovana.Many restaurants and cafes & many gift shops are very near to the square.

Beautiful main square in Pisa, just 10 minutes from the tower. It's an odd shaped square and actually no cafes or shops on it. But the buildings and architecture is amazing, definitely need to check it out.

Very nice square in the center of the old town. You definitely don't miss this place while walking around the city.
