Best museum in Hong Kong! Great location and interesting exhibits. There is a ship simulator on the top floor which I would have love to have tried but it had three windows a day it seems so check these in advance.

Very rich in stories related to shipping in HK and China. 3 levels of exhibit, so allow more hours to go through, esp the lowest level. But need to pay 30 HKD as entry fee. Also got guided tours at 4pm in weekend.

This is a must-see for anybody interested in the history of Hong Kong, as the entire Bay and Pearl River Delta has had and continues to have such an intimate relationship with the sea. The museum covers various aspects of archaeology, seafaring, trade, colonization, modern-day management, and ecological preservation. The exhibits are interesting, clear, well-labeled, and substantial— full of fun artifacts, artwork, and ship models. Even audiences not familiar at all with Chinese history would find the exhibits accessible. The videos and media presentations are well-placed and in balance with the rest of the exhibits. I think this museum is suitable for both children and adults.

The museum is easily reached by ferry. It is wheelchair accessible although you do need to use a back entrance to get into the A level.

Very educational and packed with many historical info. Ample of artifacts. Some area can be more well-lit such as the written placards.

Was intended to go upstairs for coffee but the staff wasn’t really courteous. So went down and planned to spend some relaxing time. Ended up spent over an hour there and not even able to finish the whole exhibit.

Store area can be organized better. Seems cramped but it does have a lot of gift options.
