This temple has rich history with it,the place is a must visit for all sai devotees.
Sai Baba was called Sai for the first time at this place by Bhagat Mahalsapathi.

This is the same temple which used to serve as an entry point to Shirdi for different visitors. Mhalsapatiji was the chief priest then. His Great grandson Shri Sandip Nagare is the President of the Trust now. I met him personally and had a good round of talk. He is very down to earth and soft spoken.
The temple is now a temple cum exhibition hall that showcases all the historic moments via photo prints tucked on wall. You can still spot the same age old Banyan Tree near the temple.

From main Shirdi temple, 11mts away is this temple. Devoted to Sri Khandoba who is a form of Lord Shiva, Priest Sri Mhalspathi tells Baba- Aao Sai. From hereon till date He is called Sai baba.
There are two entrances to this temple. One is on the right while there is a straight entry point too.
Priest in the temple shares history. There is a paduka, old statue of Sri Ganga and Lord Shiva. Next building is museum devoted to Sri Mhalspathi by his family.
My friend suggested this temple, that today while visiting main Sai baba temple, I stopped by Sri Khandoba temple.
