Absolutely appalling. Just like many of the other reviews on this site we too paid for our parking and displayed the ticket in the car window. Our bank statement clearly shows that the correct payment was made yet despite this the company have issued us with a penalty notice for none payment and having sent proof that we did in fact pay. We now have a letter from a debt collection agency demanding payment of £170 within 14 days or they are to recommend further court proceedings. Bring it on I say, as someone who has spent years presenting evidence in courts I would welcome the opportunity to outline my case together with the appalling reputation this company has gathered from so many other people. Might just have to invite the press along as they love anything like this.

I had a truly awful experience with Crown Street Car Park. Despite paying for my parking, I received a penalty ticket. Not only did this inconvenience me, but it also left me feeling frustrated and unfairly treated.

The customer service was shockingly poor. When I tried to resolve the issue, the staff were unhelpful and dismissive. They refused to acknowledge my payment and insisted on charging me the penalty fee.

I have thrown away the ticket, but I have my bank statement as evidence to prove that I have paid. Despite presenting this evidence, they refused to accept it. It's outrageous that they would ignore concrete proof of payment and try to make customers pay extra by wasting their time and causing unnecessary stress.

I will be contacting the city council to address this recurring issue because I know that I am not the only victim of Crown Street Car Park's negligence. This experience has left me with a very negative impression, and I will not be returning. I strongly advise others to avoid this car park unless they enjoy being treated unfairly and dealing with incompetent staff.

Poor car park! I have paid , they said I haven’t.
Even I provided the e banking record,they said that account isn’t them. What! How come?
I can sure that that account is them!
I even paid more than I have to pay!

Please don't use this parking because they are scamming my friend's money who had already paid for the parking before leaving the car park.

After that, she back UK, and she received an unreasonable fine and requested to pay a penalty of 170 pounds even though she showed the receipt and appealed about that they still charged her and threatened her to pay the penalty!

It is a scam and has no moral company at all!

DO NOT PARK HERE. Received a completely bogus parking penalty. Appealed with evidence of the ticket I had bought. The appeal process was unduly complex. They rejected my appeal on equally bogus grounds. Chose to pay the fee to avoid escalating charges and hassle. Unfriendly call centre staff. Xcel parking is a toxic and shady business.

Be wary of parking here and try and find somewhere else. The site is a mess. It is very rough ground full of holes, dirt and puddles. I see from other reviews that they love sending out £100 charges. I got one because I didn't quite get the correct registration number on the payment machine. It was obvious I had paid because I sent them the receipt but had thrown away the ticket by the time I got the fine. I appealed but they would not budge and would not refund the payment I had actually made

the website doesn't work to try and pay and the machines are faulty.
took me 25 minutes to pay for parking then i got a £100 fine because i didnt pay "in the correct time".
there were about 15 different sets of people trying to pay when i was.
BEWARE

BTW.....update...they wont refund you any payment that you actually made on the day too! so if you paid for a full days parking but it took you longer than 10 minutes to use their PATHETIC system then you will pay for the day AND get a £100 fine!

DO NOT PARK HERE! Looked online in advance for parking options for a day in Leeds. Noted it was £12 for between 6-12 hours which was ok. When paying at the machine however the only option was to pay £15 for parking until the following day. Rang the number listed to report the fault and was advised that staff do not work weekends! Called today and was told 'so what' by a very rude guy. The car park is appalling too, a terrible and uneven surface, full of pot holes, puddles and mud. It is very unsafe too as when I returned to my car in the dark there were no lights. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE/**UPDATE** Just received a £100 parking charge letter after paying £15, absolute scammers 😤
