It breaks my heart to write this review because this small pub is in the heart of one iconic places in Cotswold, Bourton on the Water.
The food I guess has nothing to do with the preparation but the cuisine as a whole. Its’s bland and lacks flavour profile. Well, I guess I have to stop here!

Good central venue. Meal we had was good.

It was a complete disaster. I stayed in room nr 4, it had mould on the walls and a terrible stench. The bed would take the shape of a boat as soon as I sat on it. The restaurant was another disappointment, I ordered salmon, macaroni cheese and fries. First I wasn't aware that my fish would be drenched in some white sauce and overcooked, I ordered again but without the sauce, this time the fish was raw in the middle. Macaroni cheese had no cheese in it and fries were undercooked. I've wasted 28£. I tried sorting it out but some lady told me to wait for the manager and.....well nobody came back to me.

A great pub with excellent service. We both had the lamb shank and the meat was delicious.There's a nice garden out front to sit in along with a bar and restaurant area but we sat in in the restaurant next to the small garden area to the rear which was nice and peaceful by a pond! Plenty good portion size and beer choices can recommend Lilly's cherries and berries cider if it's on !
Service was excellent they were super friendly with our dog. Treats and fusses were given and a special thanks to the ricardo who recommended a walk to a quieter area up the road so our spaniel could have a nice swim!
Overall good quality pub food, good portions, friendly quick service and dog friendly!

1) dirty carpet
2) danger stairs to bedroom and in the room have a two stairs to the bed
3) cold bathroom
4) big wind from the fort door
5) we are could prefer stay in main hotel room like the picture, even disabled they still send us to the far away cottage, and not think about any more help
6) too expensive , this room only work £45

Traditional Cotswold Inn in a central village location right beside the picturesque Windrush River.
Extensive menu of traditional pub classics with vegetarian and vegan options plus separate kids menu. Dogs welcome throughout.
Rooms basic but spotlessly clean and comfortable with plenty amenities.
Staff friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend a visit and will be returning very soon
