It's a church! It is, however close to the red light district. So it's a nice little place to chill after eye shopping. I've never seen so many confessional booths in my life. Make sure you check out the brass breast sculpture outside on the ground (fun little treasure hunt.
Maybe I came at the wrong time but the church onside was a bit empty and there was just one exhibition. I thought it would be more a space for contemporary art but I guess it’s still a must visit place in Amsterdam.

Not catholic at all , dont go there . False church . they mix christianity with new Age deception please if u love Jesus dont get involved .
Beautiful building with a statue of Anne Frank outside - located right next to the Anne Frank Museum. The market nearby is worth exploring.
So very disappointed even their recorded audio gadget didn't work. I gave up after 2 of them.

The organ concerts that happen every Wednesday at 13:00 are amazing! I was able to go to one during my stay, and was absolutely stunned at how well their giant organ plays. The organ itself is notable, as it is adorned with gold and some music-related paneling. Other than the organ, lighting, pews, candle holders, and carvings, the church might seem empty since it doesn’t have any frescos (it is Protestant), but because of this what it does have is very well kept up (ac, working organ, clean space, etc), so in my opinion I still wouldn’t miss it. When I went, the tower was having repairs, so no tours were allowed and you couldn’t see it very well, but there were some cool photos of it outside, showing its state many years ago, as well as how the tower was utilized to celebrate different events. Event if it didn’t have these photos, I am glad the church is able to upkeep its tower and continue tours, as most churches I have been to don’t allow tours of their towers because of how unsafe it can be. Overall an amazing space, and I will definitely come back if I am ever in Amsterdam again!
A very unique visual experience describing Rembrandt's life.
I was pleasantly surprised with this place. The church was beautiful and vast. Not a lot on the inside, but I think that is the beauty of it. Had a free audio guide about the history of the church and it’s architecture
Wonderful farmers market. They had everything.

This private estate is beautiful. You must be quiet and respectful as people live and work here but the houses are really lovely.
A little disappointing. For the money there was not much to see inside. A vast, open, empty church. No pews, no artworks, no music. The floor is amazingly entirely composed of tomb covers. No doubt, very historic, but I did not stay very long. Audio guide did not work.
Quiet place away from all the busy places and no odor of smoke from cigarettes or ganja that you face outside.
Recommended to take a quick break. Respect area that are only for residents.

A small, intimate venue where the acoustics are beautiful. We went to Patricia Pattinama's release concert.
The intimacy was palpable; the number of people was just right for the space and the setting of the concert. I had never heard of Patricia Pattinama before and I'm so glad we went.
Patricia provided coffee, tea, water, and Moluccan snacks for her visitors. Incredibly thoughtful. The atmosphere of her concert was truly respectful, sincere, and it touched us.

This amazing looking church ⛪️ caught my eye on my recent travels to Amsterdam (April 2024).
I was walking down the main road and saw the church and was taken by the gothic style/castle like architecture of the church so I went to have a look.
On Google it says you are open 24hrs but when I went to have a look, the doors were shut.
Either way the outside exterior of the church is very impressive especially if like me, you love architecture.

Sehr schöne Kirche und historisches Gebäude. Allerdings auf sehr billige Weise zweckentfremdet. Die digitale Führung in Deutsch auf sehr niedrigen Niveau. 13, 50 Euro für solche Führung definitiv zu teuer. Zum ersten Mal habe ich Geld für Besichtigung bereut.
Wir waren etwas enttäuscht. Eigentlich wollten wir die Kirche sehen, welche aber als Ausstellungsraum genutzt wird und somit kaum zu sehen ist. Die Ausstellung war interresannt, leider waren die Audiokommentare soooooo lang, daß meine Energie zum zuhören schon im 2. Raum von dannen zog.

The heritage the beguines left is very rich even though the visit itself doesn’t last more than 15 minutes. But if you look for information, you’ll find pieces of the history lying in every corner.
Silence is a key rule in the béguinage, because even though the last beguine died a few decades ago, it is still inhabited by about a hundred elderly ladies who take great care of their flowering gardens.
Don’t miss the wall regrouping the tile stones collected from different Amsterdam houses - they represent either a family name or a profession. An unexpected curiosity.

Das Bauwerk ist schön - aber ob sich eine Ausstellung für 12,50 € pro Person lohnt muss jeder von der Ausstellung abhängig machen.
It’s an impressive calm place in the middle of Amsterdam center. You can see here the oldest wooden house (rebuilt) and learn about the life in this yard. A “hof” is a group of houses around a garden.
Wir waren enttäuscht. Das der Eintrittspreis in den Niederlanden nicht der billigste ist war uns schon bewußt. Daher haben wir zu Zweit auch über 40,00 Euro gelöhnt. Das aber dann so gut wie nichts dfür in der Kirche zu sehen ist (siehe die wenigen Fotos) ist ein starkes Stück. Dafür liefen wir durch eine Ausstellung über Indonesien, die wir nicht sehen wollten. Es wäre nur fair vom Betreiber wenn er deutlicher darauf hinweisen würde. Wer also eine historische Kirche von innen bewundern will, ist hier eindeutig falsch.

The history of this part of Amsterdam goes back to centuries ago where a group of Catholic women settled in this area, which was a secluded section of the city as their faith was not tolerated by the Protestant Church in the city. The area has been renovated, and you can access it free of charge.
Spannende Ausstellung von Meredith Monk - Harmonie zu entweihter Kirche, Gesang und Künstlerin - man muss sich mit diesen großen Gegensätzen auseinandersetzen. Eintritt Euro 13,50, wobei Euro 3,50 zum Erhalt der ehemaligen Kirche verwendet werden - Zeit mitbringen
Unglaublich beeindruckende alte Kirche mit toller Orgel und wunderbarem Tonnengewölbe, das vielfach bemalt ist. Die Nutzung als Kunstmuseum ist besser als nichts, aber Geschmackssache, mir wäre das Gebäude als Kirche lieber.
Sehr schöne Kirche mit tollen Ausstellungen. Meistens einen Besuch wert. Schon zum zweiten Mal war hier die World Press Photo Ausstellung, welche jedesmal sehr gelungen und faszinierend ist!
Eine Kirche, die als Ausstellungsraum dient. Wie in den meisten niederländischen Kirchen bin ich auch hier vom Licht beeindruckt.
Zur Zeit ist hier die Ausstellung "Pressefoto des Jahres 2023" zu sehen. Mich haben die Bilder sehr bewegt - jedoch nichts für empfindsame Seelen.

Beeindruckende uralte Kirche. Der Boden besteht aus Grabplatten der (früheren) einflussreichen, reichen Familien. Schöne farbige Glasfenster, grosse Orgel. Sehr interessantes Gebäude. Uns hat die Kirche interessiert, die jetzt als Kulturzentrum/Museum dient. Die Kunstausstellung war für uns nicht von Interesse. Kostet Eintritt, ist aber okay.
A quiet area from the hustle and bustle. At the time our small group had to pass security to get in and tour the area. Parts of this are residential, for what we told are some of nuns in the community. Unsure if it is true. Please respect the grounds and dont be too loud. It is a peaceful quiet area in the middle of Amsterdam.
World Press Photo Austellung war sehr beeindruckend.
Aus dem weltweit bekannten Grund unsere Tage wollte ich die ganze nochmals anschauen.
Deshalb mache ich spät aber doch die Bewertung.
Die Photos waren sehr beeindruckend und hat zu dem Zeitpunkt ( und jetzt noch mehr) mich zum nachdenken gebracht .
Die Architektur dazu sehr schön gewesen.
Der Eintritt war frei.
Was ich auch gut finde.
Heute zu Tage sollte mehr solche Möglichkeiten für Leute geben.

Wunderschöne historische Kirche in einem belebten Stadtviertel. Leider wurde sie zum Zeitpunkt des Aufenthaltes restauriert, weshalb man sich nicht in aller Ruhe umsehen konnte. Normalerweise kostet es Eintritt, aber solange die Renovierung andauert kann man kostenlos einen Blick hineinwerfen und unter anderem die Grabplatten bestimmter Berühmtheiten betrachten.
