We tried the semi-private wind foil lesson for two people and had a blast!
Yohan catered very well to our non-existent skills so that we were quickly able to make progress and continue in the water.
We will definitely continue with learning wind foil and of we are in Cabarete we will pick this school.

Terrible Customer Service.
We spoke to an employee, in person, at length about what my friend and I wanted, namely a mix of lessons and equipment rental and we agreed a price.
When I returned to take the lesson, I was told the price was wrong and indeed twice as much as quoted. Minimal apology was given and I was told there was absolutely no room for negotiation. This included getting the owner on the phone. I understand mistakes are made - good customer service resolves mistakes, not at the expense of the customer.
I therefore decided I just wanted to hire equipment for a couple hours instead, as per your website. I was then told the information on the website is wrong and I must rent for the full day - it will take your webmaster all of 30 seconds to delete the page with the (incorrect) prices on!
Other than this terrible customer service, the set up is really nice and the equipment looks in great condition, hence 2 stars not 1.
Final word - bring your helmet! People are regularly attempting big air board offs on foil boards = foil boards tumbling through the air from 30+ feet. Crazy when it’s so busy and there are many learners.

What you say in your response is a lie. I talked in depth about wanting to learn strapless surfboard transitions. There was zero mention of jumping or tricks. Your employee said I could get an hour lesson at the same rate as my friend who was indeed taking beginner lessons. When I came to take the lesson, I was told I would be charged almost double what I was quoted.

It was a really good experience! The instructors were amazing and very patient with beginners. It's a beautiful spot with mellow waves for beginners. At least when we were there. 5/5 would recommend.

Yohan was a great instructor - I enjoyed our lesson very much! I appreciated him finding a hat for me to block the sun for the next time!! Thanks again, will be back!

We had an amazing experience with Cabarete Surf Company. The instructors were professional, courteous and oh so gracious and encouraging. Loved every minute! The beach is beautiful and the vibes are positive. We highly recommend!

Very nice surf lessons with a very good and patient teacher. He is totally flexible and is going with the progress of the students. Good price as well.

Best experience I've had with a company. Just great people, met both owners and they really went over and above. Gave me great local advice and were great to just chat with. Treat you more like a friend than a customer. If I can ever make it back to the Dominican I will stop back!

Highly recommend this place! I recently had an incredible experience with the Cabarete Surf Company. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly owners who were passionate about surfing and eager to share their knowledge. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced surfer, this is the place to be. Can't wait to visit again! Very patient and friendly instructors. They helped us book a horseback ride for one of our party members who didn't want to surf.

I did a beginner wing foil course here in February. Yohan the founder and owner is an experienced water sports instructor with a calm and humorous way of teaching. The material used was well adapted to my body weight and skill level. A radio was also used, which gives you security if you are alone on the water. The focus of the training is on learning the use of the material safely and becoming independent. After about 6 hours on the water, I'm now ready to continue practicing on my own, which I'm sure I will do. I can recommend Progress Kitesurf and would come here again (or hopefully will in the future!). Thank you again!

I cannot recommend Damien and his team enough, they are fantastic - very professional, attentive and patient.

I had a several beginner wing sessions with Roger who is an amazing teacher. He made me feel save even during more challenging weather conditions and adapted each session to my level of fitness and skill, so that we saw good progress over the days.

I hope to be back soon!

Few weeks ago I went on kitesurfing trip in DR. I was riding strapless in the outer reef and ended up cutting my feet on a reef near their location. One of the instructors notice that I was limping and came to my assistance. Immediately, he realize the severity of the cut and told me to not worry about my gear it would be taken care of. Once at the school the owners themself administered first aid and explained the severity of getting cut by coral reef (bacterial infection). Not only did they patch me up, they went above and beyond to store my gear and DRIVE me to my resort a few km down the road where we had a Doctor who stitch me up.

These guys were obviously extremely cognizant of the danger around them and took safety very seriously. If I was to advise anyone to go learn how to kite in DR this company would be my first recommendation.

Great kiting school, really loved the lessons, learned a lot. Everyone was very kind and the atmosphere is great. The instructors are great and the owner Doug was very nice and gave us great advice on what lessons to take.

Also a great place to eat lunch and watch the kites.

Le cours était incroyablement pédagogique, avec une attention particulière portée à chaque étape de l'apprentissage. It was ok. Progress was slow and instructors got frustrated easily. Both a friend and I took lessons with them, but didn't enjoy them. Made better progress and had more fun with another school.

I had an absolutely amazing experience at the Dominican Surf School, and it's all thanks to my fantastic instructor, Guimil. The personalized attention and guidance I received were top-notch, and I noticed a significant improvement in my surfing technique. I highly recommend the Dominican Surf School, and if you're lucky, you might just have Guimil as your instructor.

I learned so much from them. I was able to surf from day 1 thanks to them and I have no previous experience. Thank you Roberto.

I chose the Dominican Surf School based on a recommendation from a friend, and it was the best thing I could have done. We got Luis Miguel as our instructor for our two children, ages 17 and 14. They seriously learned how to surf within 2 hours. Besides Luis Miguel, each of my kids, had an assistant in the water, once they started "surfing", which created a really safe environment for both. I highly recommend the Dominican Surf School. You and your family/friends are in safe hands.

My kids loved surf camp with Dominican Surf School so much that they continued surfing with them once the summer ended. The instructors like working with kids and really enjoy teaching. Papito is flexible and is most concerned about your kids having a good experience in the water.

If you need surf boards or lessons while in Cabarete, I totally recommend this company. Victor and the crew were so attentive to my wife, kids and I. The instructors are so helpful and the selection of boards was perfect for any condition. They also have kids beach toys for customers, a slack line and a practice surf balance board. I will come back next time I'm in town!

It was my first time surfing and had so much fun. Booked a private lesson at the last minute. Came in with no expectations, but my instructor was awesome and I kinda felt determined to ride a few waves because of her. My instructor, Page, really helped me nail the basics and made me want to surf again.

I can truly recommend dominican surf school. The teachers are great and well known. They have really amazing summercamps. Our daughter was there for a few weeks and she loved it 🤩 I had private lessons with Papito and this was also amazing experience and training 🙏🏼 If you are at the north coast, near Encuentro, go to them 💪🏽

Great service! The guys who helped me and my family were very patient and at the same time extremely energetic and motivated us all through out the session. My little brother who is 9 was able to surf and have the best time and has never done it before. Would recommend blindly. Shoes, board and rash guards provided.

I’ve been living and coming down to Cabarete for years. Safe to say we know the area and people well.

Let’s me start off by saying there’s not a good things I can say about the entire Dominican surf school staff.

My son just turned 4 and has been surfing with the every week for months! They are excited as he is to be in the water everyday and teaching the kids how things are done the safe and proper way.

I highly highly recommend these guys whether Young, Old, in shape or out of shape they’ll make you feel comfortable, safe and most of all you’ll enjoy your time on the water and that’s what surfings all about.

Check them out if you’re in around the area, if I could leave a 10 star review I would.

This surf school is great. Papito helped me on my very first surf classes. Now I am able to get out there solo with my board and practice thanks to their amazing coaches!!! Highly recommended

Renter a board here for the day and it came with shoes and rash guard. They offer better rates for multiple day rentals. Came highly recommended both from a friend and locals. Their truck is tucked away from the other surf schools. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Was able to pay with card. There is a table where you can leave your bag and they watch it for you. Had my wallet, phone, MacBook no issues.

Awesome beach; great energy! Elizabeth and Victor were very welcoming.
My daughter took a couple of lessons with Oliver who was an awesome instructor. Super friendly and dedicated. He took time to assess her and give her personalized tips to improve.

I took 2 lessons with Pro Kite Cabarete and I wish I could have taken so many more! Damian, the owner, was very responsive and attentive. Kuba (Jacob) was an incredible instructor! He was patient and respectful of my comfort while also helping me gain noticeable progress within a few hours.

Within two days I became comfortable maneuvering and controlling the kite with one hand and we took a shot at upwind body dragging.

If you’re in Cabarete you should definitely take a lesson here!

We had much fun taking a beginner's class as a family (boys 16 and 18 years old). We had two very competent instructors for the four of us and were given good tricks that allowed us to enjoy very much the hour on the waves. Will definitely come back!

I attended the Cabarete Surf company in Playa Encuentro for a week. I recommend it to everyone who wants to try this wonderful sport !!! The owners Victor and Elisabeth and all the guys who work with them are very knowledgeable and available to meet all your needs. At the school you can buy lesson packages with affordable prices, there is a shower and a space to relax after the lesson. The school can be reached conveniently from Cabarete by cab. Strongly recommended

The surfing lessons are great. We are beginners at surfing and the instruction was awesome. Very friendly staff. Not only were we able to get the lessons but we were able to use the surf boards all day after the lesson to practice with. Great surf to learn in. They also had a beach volley ball court, we started playing with just four of us and in a matter of no time we had five people per side and got some games going. Tons of fun. I highly recommend going to this surf school. Easy to book your time slots for lessons on line. Lots of food vendors right beside the school if you get hungry as well.

Après plusieurs tentatives ratées pour parvenir à l'autonomie ces dernières années dans divers spots plus ou moins adéquats, avec des équipes plus ou moins impliquées, pour un cout plutôt très onéreux, je remercie chaleureusement Teddy et Olivier qui m'ont enfin permis d'atteindre mon objectif d'autonomie, en me prodiguant les bons conseils et le tout pour un cout raisonnable sur un spot super sympa ! Dommage qu'Olivier ne fasse plus de photos car c'est un service additionnel super sympa à proposer aux élèves, dans la mesure ou Teddy est capable de nous rendre autonomes !

Victor and his crew are great surf instructors. We surfed with them every day for a week! El Encantro beach is a great location to learn on the inside and enjoy yourself on the outside waves if you are intermediate or advanced. They have all the boards and rash guards and foot protection included in their rentals and lessons. Please give them a shot! If you need a place to stay while on a surf vacation, stay at Ultra Violeta Residences. It is 5 mins away and a great place to relax after getting exercise for the day. Highly recommend Cabarete Surf Company for rentals and/or lessons! They are a family business and their set-up is right next to a breakfast hut. We started our day at 7:30am each morning and would go back again! Here are some pictures of our group and the orange shirts are our instructors.

Ich habe spontan 6 Stunden Kite-Privatunterricht gebucht. Die Organisation hat super geklappt. Mein Kitelehrer war sehr geduldig, motivierend und hat gute Tipps gegeben. Ich habe mich die ganze Zeit sicher gefühlt.

We rented equipment here from Teddy and Oliver. Got a selection of kites, boards, harnesses for a good price. The kites were 1-2 years old. They had some patches but did their job well. As beginners, we've got a couple of mistakes too, adding a couple more patches 😅 When you rent the equipment, you're responsible for it, and it makes sense. The fees for repairs were very reasonable, several times cheaper than the offers I was given on the beach. Overall, I can recommend you this place :)

Btw, if you need a Russian speaking instructor, ask them for Lina, they will help you :)

En passant la porte de l’école, j’ai été accueilli cordialement par Carlos de Fun Trips Kiteboarding, il m’a très bien informé sur les différents packages d’apprentissage offerts l’école. Son approche dynamique et amicale ma Rapidement convaincu que j’étais au bon endroit!

Bien situé au centre de Cabarete, excellent spot de kite au centre de la baie.
Pour des cours et des excursions, en français, en anglais où en espagnol je recommande sans hésitations Carlos et Oliver de Fun Trips.

Étant adepte de windsurf,je souhaitais découvrir le kite pour compléter ma passion de la glisse. Avec Fun Trip Kitboarding Cabarete ,Teddy est un excellent prof de kite,très pédagogue avec une progression des cours très construite,du matériel de qualité de la marque sling shot.j ai pris 10 h de cours bien réparties sur 5 jours pour apprendre, progresser et glisser comme une pro . Rencontrez cette école de kite sans hésiter. Au-delà d être bon pédagogue, ils sont très sympa et vous feront apprécier leur passion pour le kite et seront vous donnez les bons plans pour les restos et les sorties à Cabarete !!!!
