Great little hole in the wall just off the Mile. You have to know it's there to know!! Dont let the 'American cafe' fool you! Great full English/Scottish breakfast with all the haggis you want! And then get a picture with Elvis!
Visited here yesterday and had a lovely time!
Very calm atmosphere , lovely coffee and of course , gorgeous felines !
Staff told us all about each cat and their personalities , laid down some treats for them so we could see a few of them on the floor playing to get the treats.
I did not get to see every cat as Amelie I think it was, was up high sleeping but this is expected with cats and they can't be social all the time.
I had a fabulous time petting the rest of the sleeping kitties.
I will definitely be back if I find myself in Edinburgh again !

The service in here is usually pretty good however, during my most recent visit I was getting on with some work and eating lunch (bought from Starbucks) with somebody else. We were forced to leave by Joanna after being told we couldn’t have a small table each and needed to share one as they were at “max capacity” (There were 6 free seats right in front of us) We tried to fit our laptops and they did not fit obviously, so we left disgruntled.
The coffee was okay and their scones and sandwiches were freshly baked.. so mouthwatering. Especially the scones. I would say the best ones I have tried so far! Coffee is a bit expensive though.
After a rather weary trek around Edinburgh, we stumbled across this place, from the outside both myself and my wife were thinking great things, we thought if they just had chairs and a diet coke, we would be happy.
On entry though, the giant Elvis at the door and the American stylie diner within was a big surprise, we were greeted by a lovely chap with a big smile, seated in a comfy booth, and looked after.
The food was quick and very tasty also priced very well.

Great place to sit down while visiting the castle. During rush hours there are huge lines. Staff is super friendly.
I am (was) a loyal customer and used to visit this store almost every day. The staff are doing amazing job.the store is run by a very friendly and chatty manager. He is always energetic and hardworking. But one of the staff member (Brett) is acting as if someone is forcing him to work. He is always rude to me. When I dont understand something (which is normal because I am not native spekaer) he increases his volume with a bad look. Rarely smiles. I know this job might be overwhelming especially during busy times. But when I visit this store, if he is working I feel stressful and want to leave early.

Absolutely charming cat cafe! The atmosphere is so cozy, and the cats are incredibly friendly and playful. A perfect spot to unwind with a cup of coffee and some adorable feline company. Make sure you book your visit in advance.
Stopped in for a quick coffee on a rainy day. Extremely quiet (we were the only people in there for the time we were there) but the coffees were excellent. Cappuccino was delightful, oat flat white similar and the babychino got the tick of approval (think chocolate on forehead to finish). Food menu looked good but we were on a pit stop. If you can get over the quietness, a lovely place to stop in

We had a lovely visit today! The staff are amazing and the customer service is excellent. They clearly care a lot about the cats, who are so chilled and very friendly. The food and drink selection is great and today I went for a raspberry iced tea and a raspberry cheesecake brownie. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area and absolutely love cats 🐈
Cute little cafe that is dog friendly. Didn’t try the coffee there yet, but had some pizza to take away. I wouldn’t come back for the food or the service, but I’d definitely go back for the atmosphere.
This was the most relaxing cafe on earth, this was the best coffee and cake I had for my entire stay in Edinburgh (probably the best coffee I’ve ever had full stop). The staff were so lovely and friendly, the kitties were so obviously loved and cared for. The cats seemed so so relaxed and happy, I loved that the staff were very attentive to the cats too, and made sure to let everyone know that cats have boundaries too! So worth the visit - I would go everyday if possible!

I have visited the cafe multiple times to sneak in a few working hours. The cafe is dog friendly and offers a lovely, calm atmosphere. I can easily spend hours here! And most importantly the coffee and food are great.

Nach dem ersten Frühstück im Hotel wollten wir am nächsten Tag etwas anderes ausprobieren und sind auf dieses wunderbare Cafe im Herzen von Edinburgh gestoßen.
Das beste Essen das wir seit langem hatten und der Service ist unglaublich zuvorkommend, freundlich und authentisch!

Frequented the shop quite a lot and generally good quality coffee, its in a convenient spot and usually very quick service.
On Sunday I had a bad experience with a couple of flat white coffees tasting of chemicals, like a residual cleaner or similar. I returned on the Tuesday with receipts to explain the situation and asked for a refund on 2 coffees. After a bit of deflection to the manager (I repeat, 2 coffees), I was met with "that is not possible, the machine rinses 10-15 times", followed by the manager disappearing into the back of the shop for 15 minutes without any sign of return. Her colleagues had a little chuckle to themselves as they made my new, paid-for order, but showed no interested in helping to resolve, rather I should wait indefinitely whilst this post mortem is concluded. Dear manager, the police force needs good detectives, you are in the wrong place!
I ordered my paid-for coffee and left for the last time. A company/franchise/store so frivolous with its customer care and would rather long time customers over pennies. Good luck.

I had an amazing visit today to see the beautiful kitties. The hour flew by. Had a hot chocolate and a brownie, was so tasty. Absolutely fell in love with all the fur babies and I cannot wait until I'm back in Edinburgh so I can visit them again. Have a special soft spot for the little kittens Maude and Fleur they were just soo cute 😍 I can't recommend this place enough
I tried the haggis for the first time, it’s all smashed and made into a patty like black budding but softer. The taste was ok, i liked to stuff them into the potato pastry as it is empty inside, and it was delicious. The service is great, warm and efficient, atmosphere here is quiet and space is big. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to have a great breakfast with more choices.

Entrance is paid, you can book online ahead of time. Reservation recommended. Clean and well maintained cafe, very cute and beautiful cats. They were all quite sleepy during our visit, but still was nice to be around. Cappuchino is nice. And staff very friendly and in love with their fur babies
Wonderful selection of meals, including vegetarian which is always prepared to taste.
Hot latte was a little luke warm and the cafe generally freezing because of the door opening so often. That said, brilliant and cheerful staff who warm you up with their mood!
Terrible vegetarian breakfast cooked with meat tasted of meat. They burnt the toast and still served it to us. Not impressed.
A great place if you love cats. You are given one hour to look around petting cats and have little play with them. Located in the city centre and touristic areas in the heart of Edinburgh.
Large menu with several options for vegetarians too. The veggie hotdog didn't disappoint 🌭. We got seated right away on a Saturday night.
Lovely place to go the service was brilliant. The food was really nice, we got the steak and onion sandwich, it was absolutely amazing! The price for it too was very reasonable! Great place to go!
Had lunch here today. Very varied menu with lots of choice at reasonable prices. Cafe is in the design of a 50s style cafe with good music playing in the background. I had the the haggis dirty fries and they were fabulous.
Very disappointed,you collect your food first,pay and order drinks. Having to wait for drinks to be made with a queue of approx 10-12 people,food goes cold,my partner had to queue for the drinks once he had ate so I could have my food warm.
Once we received out 'hot' drinks they were intact luke warm 🤦♀️

Multiple tables dirty and not cleared, not enough staff on to manage the numbers, although the girl who served us was friendly-this was the only positive.

Super freundlich Mega cool hier. Musik kommt von Kassetten tapes. Da nimmt man auch den relativ hohen preis für den sehr guten Kuchen hier in Kauf.
I have some physical parkinson type issues and today was a bad day but the personal service I received today, which was offered not requested, was amazingly thoughtful 😇. Go Starbucks and thank you again.
I think the person who served me tonight (16 december 2023, castle of lights 6pm) weren’t trained well enough, because the coffee and hot chocolate they made werent up to standard at all. The hot chocolate i bought wasnt hot at all. And the cappuccino i bought, it was burnt milk. Mostly I was disappointed because im vegan and I asked the cashier if the hot chocolate was vegan and her only reply was “I dont think its vegan”, and she was unsure, but she wouldnt ask her manager or look at the recipe book. I work at a cafe and I would spend minutes trying to make sure that each meal I serve fits to the customer’s allergies and standard.
Been good few times food good however its always lentil soup would be good for a change of soup
Barista picking ice away at an ice refrigerator for a solid 10-15 minutes gave me the biggest headache ever. Dreadful disrespect to customers sitting in and trying to take phone calls, or have any moments of peace. Why on earth they don’t do these jobs before they open is guesswork, but what an absolute racquet this Starbucks is. If you want to get work done, steer well clear from here.
The acoustics of this store make conversations difficult, and the layout could be vastly improved to seat a lot more guests. It's often busy at peak times and some staff are super busy and others look like they're stuck in daydream mode.
Popped in for a bite to eat on a weds afternoon. Was seated right away (party of 3) then order took shortly after. Wasn't too busy so food and drinks come out in good time. Ordered the apache burger which comes with bacon. Good tasty burger, decent size, well seasoned with the bacon not too crispy. Chips has lots of fluffy potato in the middle and crispy on the outside however we're a bit too chunky for me. Reasonably priced, good place to come and have a decent burger.
Had the pistachio Cannoli which was out of this world! Coffee was great too

Madison de Moggy is a small cat cafe located in the heart of Edinburgh and it is worth a visit if you love cats! Make sure you book in advance because the time slots do seem to fill up rather quickly. Once you enter you are shown your assigned table and can order drinks and cakes off a light menu. It’s recommended you don’t leave your food alone since some of the cats may snag a piece so you might want to wait to explore until you finish. Most of the cats were sleepy when we went in the late afternoon but still lots of cuddles were had. Toys are available if the cats are interested in playing and they have a clean toilet and a few souvenirs as well!

Wir waren vor 2 Jahren hier (vor der Umgestaltung). Damals war es mehr als empfehlenswert. Nun wollten wir das tolle Erlebnis mit unserem Sohn wiederholen. Das Ambiente hat wohl gewonnen, auch wenn es uns damals auch sehr gefallen hat. Leider ist nun weder der Cream Tea noch der High Tea in der Qualität (und auch dem Preis) von vor 2 Jahren zu vergleichen: trockenes Chiabatta anstelle von leckeren Sandwiches, weniger Auswahl und die Portionsgröße traurig in Anbetracht des Preises. Einzig der sehr freundliche Service war gut. Aber insgesamt: Nie wieder. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht. Schade.
Ein ordentliches Café auf der Royal Mile, welches nicht so touristisch ausgerichtet ist, wie die Orte näher an der Burg. Top Service, schnell und freundlich, sauber und gepflegt, gute Auswahl, auch für Vegetarier. Die Shakes waren top und der Kaffee war lecker. Kann man ohne Weiteres empfehlen!

Wir waren drei Nächte in Edinburgh und 3 mal morgen dort Frühstücken, da uns am ersten Morgen der Service, der Geschmack und die Einrichting gefallen hat. Die Eier aber auch die Pancakes waren sehr lecker.
Klein aber oho... nettes Personal, leckerer Kaffee & witziger Deko Stil - mit alten Kassetten verzierter Laden. Kuchen sahen lecker aus, aber nicht getestet.
A little cute and cozy coffee shop I had a delicious Chai latte and my fiancee had a cappuccino with a butter croissant, everything was delicious! Friendly staff! I definitely have to visit them again!

Horrible. Ordered a chai latte with oat milk, clarified that I was allergic to dairy and asked if they used a separate container to warm the oat milk, the lady said yes. Clearly she was lying as I got allergic reactions right after drinking, got really ill and rest of the day ruined, thanks a lot!

Tolles Café im Herzen von Edinburgh. Die Einrichtung ist modern und gemütlich und trotz viel Betriebs waren die Plätze abgeräumt und die Tische sauber. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend ohne aufdringlich zu sein.
Das Frühstück (Full Scottish u. Vegan Scottish) war schön angerichtet, sehr lecker und von der Menge her sehr sättigend. Mir hat vor allem auch der Kaffee (Americano) sehr gut geschmeckt.

wollten einen Afternoon Tee bestellen, die Kelnnerin nahm die Bestellung auf nach 5 Minuten kam sie retour wir haben keinen Afternoon Tee mehr. Beim Tisch nebenan hiess es auch wir haben die Sandwich nicht mehr. Sehr schwach da es erst 14.30 am Nachmittag war. Der Tee war gut. Bedienung okay.
Wirklich liebevolles und nettes Café. Es war für uns ein schöne Erholungspause, mitten in Edinburgh. Bedienungen sind super freundlich. Was den ganzen noch den extra Charme gegeben hat, waren die ein bis zwei Schriftsteller, die an ihren Projekten saßen. Genau das richtige, wer nach dem Flair von Edinburgh sucht.

Gepflegter Tearoom. Das Ambiente ist nett und lädt zu einer Pause ein. Die Auswahl an Teesorten ist groß. Es gibt natürlich auch Kaffee. Gebäck Auswahl ist nicht so üppig. Scones sind lecker. Junges, freundliches Personal. Sanitäre Anlagen sauber.

Gemütliches Kaffee in der Altstadt von Edinburgh mit speziellem Interieur. Ideal für den Genuss eines typischen schottischen Frühstück (auch vegetarisch) oder auch für Kaffee und Kuchen am Nachmittag.
Natürlich ist auch eine breite Palette von verschiedenen Tees erhältlich.

Während meines Besuches waren vorwiegend junge Gäste im Lokal.
Leider etwas ungenügende Belüftung. Die Kleider tragen nach einem Besuch einen gewiessen "Küchenmief" in sich.

The soup is good especially on a rainy day. The lady at the food service is nice but the cashier guy, David C, kept talking with his colleague and even didn't bother to look at me until I asked to pay with card. Please respect the customers when working and respond to their greeting at least by looking at them!
