Beautiful castle in Bavaria, near Fussen. There is an entry fee, with an assigned time - definitely worth the entry. You should note that the castle was never historically finished by King Ludwig II, meaning there's rooms you won't be able to see. There's been a lot of maintenance since then, so in tact pretty well. There's some staircases to get you up and down the levels, a cafe, and gift shop near the end. Walking to the castle takes around 30-40min depending on your speed.
This is worth a visit. We took the train from Munich, then a bus. Took about 2 hours? Then you have option of either paying for a bus or carriage ride or simply walking up to the castle. We chose walk up and it took us about 24 minutes. It was all uphill so your heart will race! You gain about 130 feet elevation (per my Apple Watch). On your walk up, there’s a place to get hot dogs or bratwurst. There’s also a restaurant up at the top. There’s a place for you to drop off your luggage before you head to the courtyard for your scheduled tour time (book your tour tickets weeks ahead of time!) we were unable to take pictures inside the castle, though.
By tickets in advance or else there's the risk of not being able to enter the castle. Also I highly recommend going on that little hike after crossing the bridge. You will find a nice photo spot with very few people.
This is a fairytale castle, one of the most picturesque castles in Europe for sure. The inside of the castle is not that amazing and I don't think it is worth 20 euros for a 20 minute tour. I visited the castle during the off-season period (March) so it was only a little bit crowded, but during the summer it must be a nightmare to take pictures here or take a guided tour.

I personally rate it as a 3/5 stars castle, the interior of the castle is in a continuous restoration process so the quality of the tour is seriously affected from my point of view.

One recommendation I have for this guided tour would be to add something extra, maybe explain one of the fairy tail stories that are painted on the walls or maybe tell a story about this castle and the WW2. The information was kind of plain and the tour was a little bit boring and short.
Very cool place. We didn't go inside as we heard it was underwhelming and unfinished. The little town nearby is cool with souvenir shops and places to get beer and food.
This place is incredible. I’m a huge Disney fan, so seeing Neuschwanstein Castle was a big deal for me. I really enjoyed the castle (even thought it’s not a “real” castle), but I loved the scenery the most. Even with all the rain and clouds! I’d definitely recommend going here once. For sure.
A very impressive castle located very close to Füssen city. To get there you can park in one of many parking for the whole day and follow the path to the castle for about 20’ walking. There are several small places along the way for local snacks and drinks but it’s useful to have cash on you as most of them don’t accept credit cards. There is also a bus line but we preferred to walk or way to the castle.
Absolutely magical place! The castle is stunning, beautiful! 😍 I didn’t enter in the castle, but just walk up to the castle and enjoy the views from the alps from there, is amazing 😻
So beautiful! Be prepared to walk and walk up and down the mountain to get there! Don't forget the 100+stairs! Then walk and walk back up the mountain to the bus or horse drawn carriage! It is amazingly beautiful if you can make it! 100 stars!
The Castle is AMAZING! Be prepared to walk. Forever. There is a house carriage that you can take up and back, it is cash only though. There is an ATM nearby though.

There is TONS of walking involved. When we looked online, it says wheelchair friendly, but I'm not sure how it could be. So many flights of stairs. (I'm not in wheelchair, I just have back issues.)

There is a yummy donut cart on the way down, again cash only.

The gift shops are full of great treasures. They take cards.

If you are in the area, it's worth going to visit. Make sure you get riches in advance. We looked at going on the weekend but they were all sold out. We ended up going on a Tuesday, that was the first available tour.
