I personally liked it more than the British museum. It's got so much to see and something for every interest. Such amazing artworks and artifacts. Not as crowded as the British Museum. Has a beautiful cafe and a good visit to pair with Harrods which is 10 minutes walk away.
One of the best art museum in London! Not really crowded even on holidays, many art items with comfortable amount of crowd allowing you to enjoy the art. Their cafe is another highlight of the museum, you get to dine in an astonishing dining hall.
Fantastic museum. Far too large for one day...pick 2-3 areas to dive into and choose your route through the museum to scan more. We managed Middle Ages / Renaissance and Paintings, but walked through Sculpture, Jewelry, Casts, and a couple more in our way to and from the galleries we really wanted to see. The café is gorgeous (all three rooms). It's worth ordering something just to spend a little time taking it all in.

The whole museum deserves descriptors like "stunning" and "magnificent."
This museum is amazing! It has a huge collection of artifacts that tell the story of the world's history. It's quite large, so plan on spending at least 5-6 hours to see everything. My kids especially loved exploring the different sections, like the ones on Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Beautiful interiors. It has much to interest the art enthusiasts. The interiors were breathtaking. The sculptures were in good detail. There are a lot of chinese porcelain pieces with a lot of details. Would recommend buying tickets in advance though the entrance is free

Free and worth your time. There are works of the masters you will recognize- Van Gogh , Monet, and Rembrandt. It’s also incredibly curated with incredibly kind staff that will answer any question. A London must do. (I didn’t have a ticket, there is a no ticket free line I only waited 10 minutes)
The National Gallery of London offers an incredible array of artworks, showcasing the talents of masters like Monet, Rousseau, and Van Gogh. The fact that admission is free is truly remarkable, allowing anyone to appreciate these masterpieces without financial barriers. While tickets aren't required, the option to make a donation supports the gallery's ongoing efforts. Overall, it provides a great experience for art enthusiasts and visitors alike.
Soooo much fun and interesting things to see and learn from! We spent almost an entire day there, and still haven't seen everything, we are going back for another visit and this time hopefully we'll see more! Unbelievable diversity of cultural arts, pottery, jewellery, clothes, etc that one would need a few days/ visits to be able to really get it! Loved every second of my 1st visit and can't wait to return!
Nice location. Good selection of art. Carefully curated.
Never been before and will definitely be going again on next visit to London.
We took 1.5 hours and only got round about 1/4 so it's most of a full day to really do the whole place.
There is a small lift which can easily take wheelchair or prams, enough space around exhibits as well to get around
We did not have tickets so had to go to back entrance, queue went down quickly, just standard bag checks.
Lovely museum with incredible artifacts. Such nice volunteers leading guided tours. Loved that it was not nearly as crowded as the natural history museum across the street. I’d love to visit again and spend more time. Loved the soap in the gift shop and brought some home with me.
Super super super recommended! Arm yourself with comfortable shoes and clothes because it will take between 3 and 4 hours, but make sure you make time for this incredible gallery! So well organised, so full of beauty and such lovely staff!
The museum is fantastic overall. My personal highlight was the intricate miniature structures on the third floor. Visiting on a Sunday, I found the first and second floors bustling with visitors, but the third and fourth floors were pleasantly uncrowded. From jewelry to technological devices, the museum exhibits a diverse array of items from around the globe. I highly recommend paying a visit.
I love it!
Amazing gallery to learn more about British history, full with beautiful paintings and portraits.
The architecture is wonderful too and it’s free 😄
You only pay for some special exhibitions and you can have guided tours for free
Worth a visit if you are an art lover- some beautiful pieces from many famous artists such as Van Gogh and Monet. Can definitely get busy in rooms with the more famous paintings, some patience was required to be able to view and admire some but definitely worth the wait!
What you'd expect from a medium-sized museum grade gallery. Plus, you can't get a better location...right on The Mall. Staff are super relaxed & friendly. The space is quite broad & bright, perfect for the classic style art that is often exhibited there. There's a small café area in the exhibit room.
Celebrating International Woman's Day ,initially, to be absolutely recognised and acknowledged also welcomed with kindness positive and phenomenal compassion.
Very central location to other galleries and museums nearby.
Beautiful bright space, with cafe, toilets and studio area with domonstrations.

Pastel exhibition on.
Very impressive
Went to see the Pastel Society Annual Exhibition 2024. Must have been excellent as I bought two paintings!
Like the way this gallery is presented, also bonus of a small cafe!
Love this gallery, it's the perfect size to lose yourself for a couple of hours. I was at the Society of Wildlife Artists annual exhibition, beautiful work by a wide variety of artists and media.

Great location, staff are lovely, there's a small cafe and very reasonable entry fee of £5. My only gripe was the toilets not working, (male and female) which accounts for the 4 stars, but hopefully that was a one off.

Will be back soon hopefully 🤩

Visited for the Royal Watercolour exhibition. Some really well composed and constructed paintings, some of which are for sale. The gallery itself is light and airy and the reception staff very welcoming. Books and gifts available.
